If I could do whatever I wanted,
I'd live my life as I please.
The folks would call me crazy,
But really I'd just be free.

I wouldn't walk, but wander
And skip around joyously.
I'd throw my arms up in the air
And breathe life into my lungs endlessly.

I'd put flowers in my hair
And let it blow in the wind.
I'd take the make-up off my face
And have all of you as friends.

I'd kiss you on the lips
And fall in love like I mean it.
I'd give you my love in the softest meadow
Right after getting so freaking lit.

I'd scream from the mountain-tops
So the clouds could hear my voice.
I'd sing songs with all the pretty birds;
I'd give the world no choice.

I wrote a poem about happiness
It's all in my head
Jordan Dec 2014
Love is no analysis
Or crazy list of things
It’s got nothing to do with birds or bees
Or silly diamond rings

It’s a little about the brain
But more about the heart
Add that to your soul
And you’re off to a good start

It’s feelings over thoughts
It’s not about control
You can’t control what you feel
And trying to control love will take its toll

If love was a number
Could you count that high?
Your life is one second
Don’t let it pass by

Because in the end
You’ll look back and see
It wasn’t fashion or cars
But love that’s all we need

For what are you looking?
Do you think you'll find it here?
You're moving far too fast,
Take a seat my dear.

Your vision seems blurry,
Your thoughts, unclear.
You have eyes that are open,
But from what soul do they peer?

Can you feel the time dripping,
From the ends of your fingers?
Every heart beat makes a second,
That you waste while you linger.

Try instead gazing deeply,
Into the backs of your eye skins,
To discover what's calling,
From so deeply within.

Then when you're ready to look out,
A new world you shall see,
A world that you know.
You've discovered the key,

Take your car out for a drive
Become a robot in your own automobile
On your way to clock in at your 9-5
Tune in to the latest hits, and buckle up behind the wheel

Don’t forget to grab your caffeine fix
To power your through your shift
Throw some sugar-free syrups in the mix
Don’t be late to work, behind a screen you shall sit

Thank God it’s Friday
You’ve scraped through the week
You’ve got all sorts of bills to pay
How else will those on welfare eat?

It’s your hard-earned cash
But let’s spend it my way
You need prescriptions, then McDonalds fast!
The corporations are hungry for your money today

The latest fashion now is out!
Look pretty-****-skinny-super-cute
Woo-hoo for unlimited money on your credit account!
Those East-Asian kids are working hard for you!

The latest IPhone is coming soon
You must buy it, along with an unlimited data plan
Then buy all the popular apps, games, and tunes
And check all your social media accounts as much as you can

Post pictures and videos of all of the places you’ve visited
Pin your most frequented to a map, to connect with peers
Include your address, phone number, and everything about your kids.
Share your hobbies, goals, and fears

Remember how blessed you are to be an American
But don’t push it, patriotism is no longer cool
Anyway, you worship the government now, not some silly religion
Rule by Obama, for Obama, because dictators rule!
My 'lol' extension:

Don’t stress the small stuff
Who cares about the soldiers? I’m so over it.
Bergdahl’s safe, isn’t that enough?
Forget Benghazi, your healthcare, the defecit

Forget everything
Look, American Gladiator is on
Look here’s 200 more channels – I’m going golfing
F you, republicans, I’m not working because ‘I won’

I sit outside and ponder
What a life it must be
For that little bird up there
Perched high up in that tree

I would fly so high
To float with the sun and stars
So I could enjoy a view far greater
Than that of any of ours

I’d abandon all my problems
Totally lose them in flight
Then sing songs of happiness
With all the lovebirds in sight

I’d think little birdy thoughts
Of worms and nests and things
And I wouldn’t think of bills or my job
Nor my reputation or fancy diamond rings

Catfights would be another story
An otherwise life without any worry
No stress, no hustle-bustle, or hurry
I’d lose myself in birdy-ness and all its glory

I’d wake up the sun
And flutter joyously in play
Then that big yellow ball
Would put me to bed at the end of the day

Focusing on the energy I feel,
Here I lie awake this nite,
Wondering how I could possibly sleep,
With the subtle glow of the moons lite?

She’s whispering my name,
As she brightly shines, fully aglow,
But not to be heard out loud,
It’s a calling deep within my soul,

Now she’s gotten me out of bed,
And pulled me thru the door.
In the twilight of the nite, standing face to face,
I know there’s something more

Out past the haunting glow of city lites,
Out into the great wide open,
I’m feeling big and small at the same time,
A peace, a oneness that doesn’t come often

And it feels so ******* good to live
And breathe it in with endless lungs
As my soul flutters in rejoice
My body numbs, I fully succumb

The pond here is completely still
A flawless reflection of every star in the abyss
The earth and sky are a mystic one
A rejuvenation I’m glad to not have missed

Walking deeper thru the forest
I find the creek hidden out of sight
Here I wash my face
As I bathe in the moonlight

I lay myself out to dry
In a padded bed of clovers
Tie a mountain rose up in my hair
And band it over and over

The sun comes up
As I say goodbye my friend
As long as you return to my night
Our companionship will not end
How strange it is to be anything at all.

The moon is my friend!
