It doesn't seem fair
that I'm in my seventieth year
but I shouldn't be
complaining

some didn't make it this far.

So
I'll grin and bear it
wear it like a scar
hidden
underneath
this suit of armour.
Amorphous is the shape of things to come.

I know that it's Saturday
but it makes
no never mind to me
because
that lot have me working
until well after three.

I should be fishing on the Lune
or
swimming in the bay,
but the powers that be
don't want me
to enjoy Saturday anymore
It's not because you want it to
but time moves on
what can you do?

but move with it.

We watch the clock
the clock watches too
time moves on
what can you do?
..and this was the day
they called it my Birthday
but they
were sixty nine years off,

see
people can't count anymore
and people won't even open the door
for ladies anymore

what a time to be alive.
This one will blow your brains out
and this one will put them back in
but if you have any sense at all
you'll put those drugs into a bin.

Sense it?
common sense is becoming rarer than rare earth.

Diets?
could be,
eat this for instant idiocy.

I'm getting too old for this.
He said, as he got even older.
She said,
not on my watch you're not
and She's got a point.
I go along with that idea
because it keeps me young.
