My Arms Await
Jacobo Raymundo May 2013
I yearn to feel your soft skin
Pressed against mine
A stroke of love
As I push your golden brown hair
Back, revealing your emerald eyes
To feel the tingle
Of your ruby lips parting
Making contact with mine
Erasing millennia of suffering
Washing all sorrow from my bones
To feel your soul
Lovingly embracing mine
Two people made for one another
Rejoicing in the freedom of now

Oh please, I nearly beg of you
Release this rusting binding of your past
Feel the rush of a free breeze
Caressing and shifting your sweet aroma
Fall as deep as you can
My arms await to catch you

The Sun Shines Once More
Jacobo Raymundo May 2013
Smoke rolls over the ruins
The solitary garden of serenity
Lays ablaze, desolate
Crying in the droughted fountain
Filling it with sorrow
Making wishes with invisible pennies

A calm wind approaches
Of no storm, of no extra pain
Sincerity in slightness
Clearing increments of fog
The sun beaming somewhere

Tears no longer fall
The fountain gains clarity
Lost in the obscurity of ash
Barren grounds find reincarnation
Sprouts bloom again, simplistic beauty
The sun shines once more

Maybe
Jacobo Raymundo May 2013
Scarlet shining lakes surround the temple
The life of unnamed martyrs lay silent
The livelihood of millions, destroyed, vanquished
The gates of Hell opened, the wrath amongst us
A kid, youthful and playful
Lays still in a pile of millions
Another life ended senselessly
By a ridiculous spitting contest of thrones
One day, one day, maybe the wars will end
Maybe blood will no longer be shed
By our own hands. Maybe

Skeleton
Jacobo Raymundo May 2013
Emotions of a million passions
Flowing from my eye sockets
Where orbs of vitality once inhabited

Words of these emotions
Pouring like billions of tiny spiders
Waterfall from the dried bone that used
To be covered by flesh awaiting your kiss

The heart in a burned ribcage
Still beating in rhythm
Pumps no blood no life
Just a black tar of sorrow

My arms, reduced to mere calcium
Still are held out
Awaiting you to fall into my embrace

But it's too late, far too late
I can't ever hold you again
I'm already dead

Blasphemous trees, arching above my head
Blasphemous trees, arching above my head
For which life doesn't represent
For which life doesn't represent
Life, arching above my trees
Blasphemous, for which doesn't represent?

Wilting flowers, drooping with death
Wilting flowers, drooping with death
I fear not this valley of sorrows
I fear not this valley of sorrows
I fear this valley of flowers
Drooping with sorrows, not death

End the abysmal monotony
End the abysmal monotony
Shed light upon the throne

Abysmal throne, shed light
Upon the end, the monotony

End the monotony of life
For which death, not sorrows,
Arching above wilting trees,
Doesn't represent fear; my blasphemous head!
I shed light with this drooping valley
Flowers upon the abysmal throne

Love Letter
Jacobo Raymundo May 2013
Oh sweet mythical beauty
How I long to embrace you
Feel the surge of powerfully passionate emotion
As not only our two persons meet
But our two souls as well

Perhaps the days are growing fewer
Between now and reunition
But they drag on and on
With such monotony

Days fade to grey with pure amnesia
As my last clear memory is our last
The day you too faded
From my eye to my mind

But, you approach my eye once more
Eager yet timid
As I reach out and you take a step back
And I urge to you come forth
It's safe here with me
I promise you that
And I love you

Jacobo Raymundo May 2013
A voice tremors in the dark of night
The stillness catches every jostle
Of the jawline, wavering with excitement
As he professes his love
The deepest emotions found in his heart
And there is no one to hear it
No ear to receive the devoted words
And the moon cries tonight

A rush to my head
The toy soldier stands at attention
Hearts pounding
The plastic men file in ranks
Sheep to the slaughterhouse
Eyes widening
The belly of the beast
Opens its void, its mouth
Stomachs dropping
The sunlight fades at noon
Darkness
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
Sun setting, slowly drifting behind the mountains
The iridescent glow of July fades into night
Crickets chirping, fireflies buzzing about
Making the world around us our own
Little, secluded universe amongst nature

The creak of a chair swing, oscillating in rhythm
To the beats in our chest, the swirl in our hearts
As you collapse into my arms, like you always did
A little gray streak showing, glistening
The smell of your fresh brewed coffee invades
Delights my nose so used to the smell
And my eyes, peering into yours
Fifty long/short years from now
And I love you still

Leaping hurdles with ease, never looking back
The heart of a wanderer finding homestead
In the soul of a loving beauty
Who's been wronged by so many
Yet can still love so deeply
The awestruck glance you catch from me
Babe, that's never gonna change
You're gonna amazes every day without fail
That's you, purely amazing

And so when I close my eyes tonight
Know that's what I see
And I really can't wait
To grow old with you

Yes I Do
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
Disorder in my courtroom please! Will the defendant please take the stand at this time?

The walk of shame has started
The hour in which I must confess my crimes
Has arrived, driving me to the edge of sanity
As my throes meet public scrutiny

Did you or did you not love so hard your heart couldn't take it anymore?

Oh I did I did!
The poor critter couldn't even stand up!
I threw it around, ignored it
As I prayed hopelessly for her sweet love

For what purpose did you do this mister?

Don't glare at me so sternly you heathens!
Have you not been in my shoes?
Have you never seen the eyes of a goddess
Which bewitch you, steal your soul
And chain it around her pretty fingers?

Answer the questuon

Oh the purpose is so unknown to me
Who would knowingly set their face ablaze?
Her pretty head begged for my shoulders
And I was there when nobody else was
And I love her, I love her so

oh so you say you love her now? Do you understand the consequences of that?

My question is do you?
Do you ever stare upon a starry night
And pray for clouds because
Her face is a constellation?
Do you ever see the moon and lose yourself
Because somewhere in this world she may be too?
Have you ever poured rivers from your eyes
Just to smile when she is near?
Don't you see
There is nothing equivalent to her
It's a shame you can't see my heart
Slowly bleeding out
Shriveling, withering
As I watch her walk away

Simply my question is this, would you die for her

Death could never be so sweet your honor

I sentence you to hanging immediately you scoundrel!*

With my last escaping breath,
I see your eyes meet mine
One final time
My mouth moves
But no sound comes out
An you heard me so clearly
I loved you until now
And I'll love you forever
This is the price I pay
But I still love you
Yes I do

Give Me Liberty
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
I awoke and my eyes were stained
By my own blood pouring from my face
A million screams shriek into my ears
But from no voice did they originate
The power of the cobra is immense
As it latches on to my trachea
And steals the breath from lungs
Fills my veins with its seeping venom
Its remedy
Give me liberty
By giving me death

Why can't we hold hands
Walk this path of life
And just love one another?

Why do we spend our days
In a sunken abyss of hatred
Seeded through many ages?

Killing ourselves day by day

End the hate

Many miles away from here
To never return
Look for me

Look for me in the evening sun

Wishing I could come down
And shine my smile only to you

Look for me in the whispering wind

Wishing I could be there
To sing it in your ears

Look for me in the tree

The Mason
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
He has devoted his life
To laying walls
Brick by brick
Big walls and fancy ways
Ornamented with oriental designs
Opulence is a must
It protects a sacred being
Well, sacred to me
But the wall comes tumbling down
Every night when I think of you
Everything crumbles down
A flood of tears wash away the bricks
That once protected my heart
By sunrise,
He's laying the same bricks again and again
This poem is devoid of any artistic qualities, as I wrote it in under 2 minutes. But I think it is relatable as it is true to me

Viewer Discretion Advised
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
viewer discretion is advised. The following program has graphic images that may not be suitable for all audiences

The television stains my eyes
I can barely see myself in the mirror
While steady reporters shed not one tear
Don't you see the dead behind you?
Don't you feel the pain of their families
While you just "tell the story"?

27 dead, most of which young children, in a school shooting

The sickness creeps into my bones
Its impact rattles my spine
Debilitating me, confining me to a stupor
Why? Why?
Why end such bright futures and presents?
Do you not see the damage that you've done?
Do you not feel the blood pouring from
Your own body? Do you?

back to you, overpaid talking man*

A three minute blurb
That's it
Hundreds of people have been forever changed
Millions more afraid
And all you can do is harass them
Beg for interviews
While they still are in disbelief?
But beyond that
You show it over and over and over
All with the political lean
Of your respective stations
Could you not stop for once
And let mourners mourn?

Feed the parasites in my brain
Eating the bindings that hold me together
And watch as I fall
Deep
Deep
Deep
Deep
Into an insane abyss
Deeper
Where the only light there is
There isn't
Where the only logic allowed
Is illogical
Where the moon sings sweet lullabies
That I cannot hear or see
Does it really then?
Am I deaf/blind
Or is there nothing to see/hear?
Is this hole empty
Or is there so much that it implodes
Sending micro particles outward
Into the space that doesn't exist?

Slinking about step by step
With perfectly fluid motion
Seeing the world through eyes
Devoted to feline curiosity
The petty masters stand in awe
While I fall from three stories up
And land on all fours, unscathed
I am a cat, and I love my life
Sleeping through the hours of the day
To awake at night to scavenge
The little tailed furry critter
That you may be afraid of
But this is my dinner
Oh I love my life

Emptiness?
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
Mark the ground beneath my feet with stars
And follow me to my destiny
Take a trip through my galaxy
See what I see feel what I feel
Judge me from the outside
And I'll mock you from the inside
The waters are warm here
But I cool those around me
You see a steady face
Slowly becoming apathetic to your pettiness
You beggards! Trying to steal my flame
I will torch your empty body
And smoke it for the high
And feel the empty happiness
That plagues your hearts
But wouldn't emptiness be better
Than feeling so much it stings?

The Forest for the Trees
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
Watch scars fall from my eyes
Pierce the earth
And grow into deformed plants

The seeds of pain and anger
Slowly sinking deeper and deeper
Advocating the growth of demons

Nurture my growth with the remains
Of my heart
That is perishing too soon

Feed the gay birds in my tree
With the fruits of my labor
The only accomplishment to my name

But what is it?
Am I leaving a legacy?
Or just a whisper in the wind?

When I leave for good
I will make not one sound
Not even a whimper

Trees don't speak
We are steady and resilient
And silent, within ourselves
If you can think of a fitting title, feel free to share

Do Your Own Wrong
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
Those acidic words
Dribble from your lips
Like snakes slithering from your throat
Fueled by blood of molten hatred

The words that have been spoken
Sear the earth around your feet
Alter reality to your eye
And devours the innocence of a rose

From the body of those lips
A tale is told from the other side
Far away in a paradise
Perfection, why not?

As your body deceives your lips
And acts as you say not
The earth scowls at your devilish lies
Traitor to yourself!

For you have a present
Shakier than the spoken past
So hush your lips childish woman
And do your own wrong today

Shadows projected upon mine dreary wall
Painting murals of death and betrayal
Dancin within the flicker of the waning moon
And the candle, slowly dripping its last wax
Yet the wick still remains
It's not a fuse; it burns too slowly for measurement
Truthfully not at all
But once the wax has eroded away
Leaving my wick bare to the world
It shall sing its songs of love and longing
To which you shy away
The youthful flame dies out to be lit again
Not today, not today
It's too cold for fire now

To my sweet goddess,

Day in and day out
The sun rises and fades
The moon follows suit
A natural continuum of sorts

And like the sun and the moon
And the seasons they bring
My love for you is continuous
Starting but never ending

If life forces my hands from yours
And we are pried millions of miles apart
Know this, my only love
I will always cherish you in my heart

But I don't fear that day
For it shall never come
Millions of miles couldn't bar me from you
My love is too deep for that

For I have peered into the eyes
Of the divine in all of her mystic beauty
Which have cast onto my heart
A blessing of eternal passion

Should the sun die on the sunset of next
I wouldn't fear the ensuing darkness
I have the light of your soul
To show my path to your heart

From this path, I don't stray
I have only will enough to be with you
You're all I'll ever need
And I'll love you forever and always
