rained-on parade
I went looking today.

I put on my red boots
and my blue pants
and I opened up the doors.

I went looking today.

I went through the parks,
the streets, the empty hallways.
I got lost looking for a lost you.

The crowd carried your scent,
carried me,
and I was six and a half miles from home.

I put on my smiles
and my cloak of courage.
My watch ticked away the time my heart drove my feet to you.

I went looking today.

I went looking for you.

I searched the corners of boxes,
under the shade of rose petals,
and in burning letters.

Because I had to.
I had to find you
before I lost my mind.

My bones ached for the home in you,
my heart refused to keep a beat continuous,
my skin began to come undone.

I went looking for you today,
only to stop before your door
and walk all the way back home

still in want.

The light was the star shinning in the dark,
the feeling was the blood bleeding in the heart,
the rain was just the eternal pain,
everything was fine everything was sane.

But the feeling in the heart was in itself a lie,
the shooting star fell down and died,
the almighty showers sobered down,
INSANITY ALL AROUND !

only you cried

On the steps of the train station
where a wrapped bundle wept
with the indignity of being female
was all that she had left
As millions passed her by
on feet that carried them
to their own redemption
They glanced at the small bundle
and questioned
What price do I pay
With my intervention?

Millions of mothers held hands
with their sons
and asked for forgiveness
hiding their bounty
from the regimes eyes
A son, or a daughter
One is life
the other means slaughter
Those that birthed a means
to the end
hid their complacency
behind their sigh

As that little girl starved
and wailed her angst
to ears that didn’t listen
she spread her humanity
to all the passing feet
that saw, but ignored
the tears on her cheek
that glistened

Worldwide, we notice
whole populations
that give their children
to the dark
And we watch, and wonder
as their tiny life spark
withers
she died

There was much outrage
*but only you cried
at the risk of being misinterpreted (I NEVER explain my poetry) this was written many years ago, when several people listened to a story about about a baby girl left on the steps of a train station in China at the height of their 'one child policy' as they all expressed their outrage I only witnessed one person who actually shed a tear at such diabolical cruelty....

You notice my indifference
In your eyes I appear as a stone
Somehow you find it appealing
But I'm better off on my own

You were the devil on my shoulder
Sometimes the angel too
The role that you were playing
Didn't mean the same for me and you

They say that love makes you blind
I guess that it's true
Otherwise you should have noticed
That I was looking for something new

Now that you can see through the veil
Your fuel has lost its force
I have become the devil
You must find another source
