Hannah Dec 2018
***
her words like a poem
when I couldn’t find the right adjectives

a genre unparalleled and unprecedented
rarity in a sea of commonality
emeralds floating across the ocean

she was always at the tip of my tongue
I knew I was looking for her, but

I didn’t know she would patch the holes in my poems,
sing the lines to my nonexistent love song,
quench my thirst and question my consciousness

her words unearthed my passion
just for me to put it all back in a poem
