Showstopper
Gourab Banerjee May 2017
Vacant stare
Moments paused
Spotlight glare
Heartbeats hushed

Rolling shutter
Wet carpet
Weak footsteps
Spied breath

All the colours are just lies
On the plastic butterflies

Buttons done
So are lips
Lenses on
New gossips

Humble scratch
There's no blood
No more pain
No impulse

All the colours are just lies
On the plastic butterflies

Lullabies
And good byes
Dark abyss
Kisses die

Alarms ring,
Or phone call
(there's) Nothing left,
You've shown 'em all

To Dear State
Gourab Banerjee Mar 2017
We are nameless, and you are shameless
Blackmailing us with unemployment
False promises and greed for power
It's a rotten regime and you're a fascist *****

Slaughtering people in the name of god
You have the help of faithful frauds
Ruling over ***** pigs of the city
Selling us under the cover of dignity

You've been voted in by blind, deaf and dumb sheep
We're not among them, we're anarchists
You may have control over schools and shapeless brains,
We're ******* nobodies, but we're still sane

Count your days as the hands are rising
Gather your troops, your policies dying
No more of your sweet lies
We've seen beyond it.
Enough of your blah blah blahs
We're tired of it.

Ode to Marijuana
Gourab Banerjee Feb 2017
The sun is burning in my veins
The rain has gone insane.
Saturation pours over my head
The liquid dreams have left a hazy shade.

A bitter taste to all the rest
Green smokes fill-up the sky.
At the heaven's gate with scribbled fate
Nothing seems to be alright

Spirits come and touch our soul
Make us scream aloud.
All the healers are the sinners,
Covering all my senses with a shroud.

The third eye is blinded
But the core soul is enjoying
An indifferent laugh on the face of living
But, in the end,
It made no difference.

Oh My Dear
Gourab Banerjee Feb 2017
A glance at you,
Like the voice of a nightingale at the dusk.
Smile touches the lips and starts breathing
As the silvery dreams get sunken in one's arms
And goes from the lips to the heart
As a soft finger touches a daisy flower,
And as spring finds a silent road.
And the thunderstorm becomes the kiss of breeze...

A glance at you, my dear
Like a calm dawn.
My heart wanders alone,
Glittering all stones,
Playing with seashells on the beaches
Running with deer in the forests
And flying beside the clouds.

Why does it touch me, my dear
Like the voice of a nightingale at the dusk
That showers me bearing all your fragrance
Oh my dear...

Mirror
Gourab Banerjee Feb 2017
I'm alone and it's raining
Washing away all my due debts
Is it the death of trust?
Or the beginning of intelligence?
The alarm clocks are screaming my name
Dragging me out of the illusion called faith
But I don't want to surrender
Please let my dreams flood with sweet lies.
As I run in a circle,
In the hope to see the other side of the mirror,
The day breaks in twilight
And the dusk turns into shadowy nights
The premonition takes me to nowhere.
I need something new
to laugh,
to cry,
to scream
And yet I don't know what to dream about.
