Let me into your innermost chamber
The chamber of everlasting happiness
And nothing else in the world matters again
Even if the ribbons aren't on the trophy
The joys therefrom can only be imagined

In your perfection, I loved you
In your imperfection; I loved you more
In your arms I found a fortress, a sanctuary
No wonder I am possessed by your love

Each time I gaze into your eyes
I loose the fear of my fear
The type a Lion looses to a Lioness
All I desire is what you desire
All I want is what you want
Believe me, I was circumcised for you

With you I found the moon
And saw you gently tucked amongst the stars
Whose light illuminates my world
Gently but intentionally I followed the trajectory
Until, like Delilah, I landed on your laps

I think of you in the tiniest  details
Let's run to the field
Make out and throw caution to the wind
Take me to your temple of *******
That I may be lost in you forever

The venom in your heart
Is the poison I desire
Oh! What beautiful poison it'll be
Let me **** from your breast of love
That I may live with your love eternal
I love you "Ma Cheri"
Babatunde Raimi Dec 2019
There is a time to be born
Then you suckle her succulent breast
Get a ride on her back
Like a mother Baboon to her Baby
This is a season of growth
We all passed through it

There is a time to crawl
A time to fall, stand and walk
Just like a new hen
In a new environment
With one leg at a time
She studies her environment
Then she begins to fly
Looks for trouble and says
"I will tell my Mummt for you"

There is a time to be schooled
Not just formally these days
To survive the current economic realities
You need skill based education
This, your sure bet to financial freedom
Afterall, "Who certificate help"

None can survive without "Mama thank you"
Without which you will be history
From the days of John the Baptist
We have been eating "Mama Thank You"
Our sweet Mother
Our comfort in times of war...

She fought many unseen battles
That you and I may live
She tolerated concubines and new wives
Even when father said her wine was stale
She even served them food
So that we will not be poisoned
"If you know you know"
Especially if you survived polygamy like me

What can we do without our mother?
A God in human form
She could have left the union
But what will people say?
"What will happen to her children?"
She weathered the storm
The tempest storms from family
Her love was pure agape
When was the last you told her "I love you?"

She sold fishes that you be educated
She believed in your ability to succeed
You were her greatest investment
Yet, she never stopped serving  you
And all you say is "Mama Thank You"
Do you know that thunder is real?
And she didn't take postinor
When you were conceived...

At Age thirty, you are still home
Struggling with her scarce resources
Competing for space with siblings
Still eating "Mama Thank You"
Of what value is your education?
Has it made you independent
Or a non-entity?

If our parents took loans
To finance our education
With you still eating "Mama Thank You"
After successfully completing NYSC
How can you pay them back?
Would it be okay to mortgage you
Just as a collateral
Afterall you spent the money

Wake up my friend!
This is not a poem
This is a clarion call to do right
Before you buy i-phone 12
Have you honoured your parents?
Before you pay your Girlfriend's house rent
Have you paid your parents'?

No one takes oranges
And takes the seed alongside
In your meagre earnings is a seed
And if you are not earning
After all your education
You are just a lazy youth
You still want to eat "Mama Thank You"
"Mama Thank You Kee You Dia"

This is a clarion call
Before you call your girlfriends
Or your Sugar "Zaddies"
Have a meeting with yourself
Have you been financially good to Mummy?
What about your Superman, your Daddy?
Do you even know their account number?
If you don't, make that call
And place them on monthly stipends

Sometimes in life
To unlock the golden door
That your heaven may open
You don't need fasting and prayers
You don't need prayers from spiritualist
All you need is to act right
Go back to your root
Honour the god that poured blood on you
Especially from your wallet

Little hinges swings great doors
Little drops makes mighty oceans
You mustn't engage in Yahoo plus
Or corporate "Olosho" in whatever guise
You too can play in the big leagues
If only you honour your parents
That it shall be well with you
That they too may say
"Thank You My Pikin"
You have been advised!

If love turns south
I'll move north
Even if it turns west
South is the way to go
Let it sway east
I'll still believe
It might take time
But "Que cera, cera"
I was given birth to
I too will find and multiply
It's a divine covenant
And to all my mockers
Guess what! It's closer
Way than you think
Before you criticise me
Make sure you have a happy home
Be sure yours is heaven on earth
Before you throw shades
Walk my walk
Better late and right
Than early and sad
Mr. & Mrs. Marriage Counsellor
I rejoice with you
But remember this
Marriage is an institution
Marriage is not a competition
Volume high? Should I increase it?

The intention is not to unclad you
With words so soothingly ******
But if I may, as a boy Scout
Whose honour it is to do good
At least one good in a day, Scouts honour

Allow me, just this once to do this
For there is a spider in your bra
May I?
Did I just undress you poetically?
I'm sorry, that's how Poets roll!
Sometimes with obscene words
That just makes you drip...

Me
I lost myself
Living in a prison of your creation
But when I found me
I found beauty and zest
Babatunde Raimi Jan 2020
If I behave unstable
It is not intentional
I blame it on you
Yes, on your narratives
That boys don't cry

You say men shouldn't cry
You see crying men as weaklings
Why shouldn't I cry my cry
Even Lions cry, so why not?
We have all been mis-schooled

Depression comes in different  shades
Crying is soothingly therapeutic
So, let me cry my cry in peace
Or is it your cry?
One day, your time will come

If I sink into depression
Because I am being a man
When depression leads to death
Will you take care of my loved ones?
Can you legalise your promise?

I vented my anger on drinks
I became a chronic drunk
I laced it with womanising
I became nymphomaniac

I am first human, then a man
All you need do is ask nicely
Maybe we can be good friends
That we may cry and win together

Stand up for the boy child
Tell them it's okay to fall and cry
How do you cope with a falling grade?

I am single and unmarried
Married and unhappy
Do you have a nagging partner?
"Every Mallam to his kettle" please
Don't add if you can't help

I have a right to cry
It is not a weakness
It is a display of emotion
Ask women, they cry in sorrow and gladness
Stop the emotional blackmail

There is a child in every man
A tear in every gland
Boys lives matters too
Let me heal and cry in peace
Spread the news...

Do you know my story?
If you know my past
You will appreciate my pain
Then my praise
Boys needs help too

Failure is but school, learn
Suicide is not an option
Marriage is not by force
Singleness is not a curse
If you are hurt, cry your cry

When a breadwinner dies
A wife looses a husband
A child loses a father
A family looses a sibling
It's okay to cry, so cry...

Don't vent it on addictives
If you have ever been told
"Man up; boys don't cry"
You have been abused
Gather here, let's cry together

Mortal men in mortal prisms
Glory not in the demise of another
One day, you too shall pass
It is the only enemy of humans
Death.

If one dies, are we then immortal?
Only God knoweth the why?
Why not hope for a better ending
In place of musing over the transition of another
If death be good, can it be bequeathed?

Save for autopsy or the likes
When a muslim transits before asr
He can be prepared for final boarding
As long as it is not magrib
Otherwise, at dawn, that is sunnah
When we get to heaven
We'll know the true followers of "Eledumare"
To the deceased, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un"

When a christian dies
Please, as admonihsed by the Messiah
"Leave the dead to bury their own dead.”
Whenever, however, their choice
A deceased may not be your hero
Does that confer you any title?
Say, a judge or jurry?

To be or not to be?
This is the exclusive reserve of the Uncreated Creator
May our leaders learn from this natural transition
That, called death...

We are all but sourjourners
From dust to dust shall we return
And when the time cometh
The book shall be opened
Whether to everlasting peace or contempt
You'll be judgrd by your works
Do right! Live right

But know it
When the righteous perisheth
It shall be into peace
For them who walk in righteousness
Their bed is laid in petals of gold
With the insignia: "Weldone good and faithful servant"

Oh Lord, heal our land
Let this be a reminder to us all
Life is a journey, walk it
Like had a terminus, live right
Only  remember, every soul shall taste death
When and where my friend
Only God knowest...

Finally, before you drop a line
If you wish to drop a line
Scroll through this with common sense
That which is not very common
For only the possessed
Glory in the death of another...

Should I credit the Romans
Believing we are opposite the Mediterranean
After the tribe of Berber
Somewhere around Tunisia
Then “Suna’ed” us Africa

Oh the land of fruit and corn!
How blessed thou art
The cradle of human civilization
Someday we shall ask the Phonecians
How two words: "friqi" and "pharika
Combined to make Africa

As they all jostled to take credit
Driven by the zest to unlearn, learn and relearn
“Na dem oh!” The Greeks, they chose “Aphrikē”
Because we are free from cold and horror
A summation of fify-four beautiful countries
So my dear, Africa ain’t no country
It’s a beautifully endowed continent

Theories can be rationalized
So, I beg to defer, “No be only Africus”
How can a Yemeni invade our continent?
And also get the bragging rights
I refuse to accept “Africa” is a Yemenite invader
“Hapana Sio kweli”

Whether from the explorers, westwards
Or the traders from India
Whoever conjured the name “Mother Africa”
Surely deserves some accolades
Your next vacation, destination Africa
Come my friend, come
You’ll be glad you did

Though rich, yet under-developed
Slowly but surely we have progressed
This, grossly under-reported by your media
We are a continent blessed with “All”
Don’t die until you experience our hospitality
Maybe, just maybe, together we can take a walk

You are not a mother
Yet you mock a mother
Who chose motherhood
Instead of being a muderer
Please give it up for mothers

If you are not a mother
You don't know the pains of motherhood
With her memories of childhood
She is our Queen of the hood

You mock a mother
Yet you committed several murders
When you chose abortion
Who do you think you are
You are just but a murderer

Untamed creatures
Lurking around the pride
Seeking whom to devour
Loose guard at your peril
It's welcome to Valhala

They answer to many names
Comes in different shades and sizes
They fly in from all corners
Seeking to prey on a "Mugu"

Worse that the Bats at twilight
They lash unto you until you go dry
Should you fall for their trickery
You might have fallen for a senior colleague

They are not the finest
But they are smart
Be the crow, don't be a "Mugu"
And before you invest, investigate
Babatunde Raimi Nov 2019
I could go to jail for you
Break banks for you
All you need is just ask
Because without you
There isn't me

You were an answered prayer
The solution to my secret tears
You gave my life a meaning
You; the oxygen that I breathe
Now i know love truly exist

We dreamt and made vows
Everyone wanted to be "Us"
Before angels we made promises
Witnessed by Venus
The god of love

You were the sun that lightened my world
The moon that brightened my day
As a star, you illuminated my heart
You, my one and only "Mumu Button"

With you, I need no validation
You never looked at my past
To create our glorious future
Once, I was asked to define unconditional love
I smiled, and just looked at you...

Mr. Digger, weldone
Like a miner you dig deep
Looking for what is not missing
You visit every angle
Digging in and out of every hole
Then you rest to continue after a while
To commence your marathon findings
Continue, Minister of research
What a world, chasing after mundane things
You'll reap what you sow
Continue!

If you laugh at my stupid acts
Still pull me aside to guide me
You never threw me to the Lions
You correct me in love
Like a loving mother
To a suckling child
Then you are my best friend

If you are miles away
And your thoughts still makes me smile
If your absence makes me cry
Tears of joy; that I miss you
If I shout on you for everything
And you still give me that  smile and hug
You are my best friend

If you've crossed to the great divine
Dining with the Angels
Sited at God's right hand
And I still think about you
The sweet memories we shared
If I still look at the stars and see you
You are my best friend

If I ever lied to by loved ones
To spend time with my Bae
To mingle with my guys
Or our usual ladies night out
If I told you what none ever knew
Run to you for advice
You are my best friend

If you ever sent me recharge cards
Bought me perfumes and souvenirs
Bought me food when I was hungry
Drinks that we may be merry
Just know that I miss you
And right now, I am thinking about us
Because I miss my best friend

You can make that call now
The next time my phone rings
I wish you will be one
My acts might not show it
I might have a funny way of communicating
But I think I love you
Because you are my best friend

If you smell nice, I like you
If you have a good persona, i adore you
If you are intelligent, I'll buy you venus
But if you look like my Mum, I'll marry you

If you love flowers, we'll make a perfect team
If you love old school, be my pal
If you love Ballet, I'll dance with you
But if Dolly Parton is your favourite, you are my missing piece

From your breast alone will I ****
Let me into your innermost chamber
Let me take you to the moon and back
That I be yours, you be mine
For you are my favourite Candy

My first night
The scenery was magical
As I laced the bed with **** lingerie
Scented candles, petals and oils
The arena looked enchanting
Our bodies vibrated all through
Her pyjamas was transparent
It revealed her revered contours

I started with a mild body massage
With her pout breast and firm ***** in view
With Kenny G at the background
This was heaven on earth
I parted the layers of her flesh And played with her *******
She convulsed and convulsed
And gently, she screamed my name

So memorable it was
****** was very close
As she echoed the words
So finally, "I am your wife"
Mountains surmounted
She won the prize
There was this glow she radiated
Like finally, she won

It was a night of bliss
All through the wedding
I travelled through the night
Our first shower was explosive
A shower before the shower
With kisses and cuddlings
With a slight romantic blush
I lifted her to the chambers
Where we explored our chambers

Just when I thought we were done
It was the begining of ****** ecstacies
Our night started in the morning
Oh! How we knacked, knacked and knacked
Then made solemn vows
Pledging, to love till fade
I searched for a life partner
In you, I found a soulmate...
Babatunde Raimi May 2020
This used to be normal
My mother swagged in it
For my Sistos, weight magic
Then things fell apart
When they "kayamatized" it

Some only planned to wipe
Clean the play head and "jakpa"
They only wanted installation
After the romp on waist bead
They subscribed to full installation

"Ana no ofu ebe ekiri mmaun"
That was your slogan when you browsed
You forget she is a daughter of eve
Wiser than all the men in your clan
Congratulations, welcome to fatherhood it ended

Some scientists use this special science
Never will the land be fertile
As long as the gate is waistly beaded
It is a covenant made with the gods
For it is just but "Akamu" from an income man

In my lifetime, I have seen beautiful
They glow in the dark and beckons on you
Crystal beads fit only for nobles
If one thing must **** a man
Then my cause is chosen

In my sojourn as a globetrotter
I have crossed many seas
Swam oceans untold in foreign lands
But none is as sweet as you
My precious "Ileke Idi..."

I love your *******
It makes me drip
If that is heavens road
Then, my mission is complete

I love your breast
Especially the roughages
That surrounds the juice
If I can only but grasp

I love your dimple
Even though they are simple
Each time you smile
I just feel a tickle

Let me be your barber
With exclusive services
That I may help you shave yonder
And give it a fine design

I almost touched that tattoo
Beautifully carved on your cleavage
When we bathed together
But bathing together is not consent

Although you were silent
Consent for one
Is not consent for all
When we downed a bottle of passport
You were weak, I was your strength

Once we wanted to make out
You said "Yes", then "No"
But I made sure the sun didn't rise
For the moon was not set

I'll be ready when you are
In a blissful atmosphere
Under the "Udala" tree
With a sealed mutual oath

If you went it
Before she said "Yes"
If you shaged her
Before she was eighteen
You are officially a ******

This is not just a poem
It is the story of my Kimberly
And yet,
Still I wait...

They said everything has a price;
But you are priceless
The Moon only glows at dawn
But your beauty is timeless
How come people age with age;
Yet you are this ageless!

If God created most beauties on a Sunday
Why were you carved on a Monday?
If you existed in the days of Samson
He would not have been entrapped by Delilah
When beauty meets brain
The distinction is academic

I might not have the dexterity of Beyonce
But I will sing you melodies from the heart
If I have only one chance to make it right
You'll be my ride or fly
Before mortal and immotal men I made this oath
That you my Love will be "My Last Everything"
Babatunde Raimi Feb 2020
On that special day
In a blissfull atmosphere
I made out passionately
With my obssession
It was an intense session
Because it lacked supervision
After the seemless transfusion
Done with professional precision
With all the apprehension
Before the mating session
Now I have an undying ambition
With a very crazy compassion
With all the tension
To take you to the session
That will call for a love procession
To declare my obsession
And my conjugal mission
And that is my conclusion

Africa's King of reptiles
The pretty black Mamba
Fast and furious
Venomous and slithery

Bites in quick succession
Faster than you can react
If you cross their path
Prepare for war

So also my Sweet mother
My survival, her priority
She laboured that i may live
My Sweet Black Mamba

You are my ultimate champion
With African mothers
We never really grow up
Even when we have grown up.

My mother my gist partner
My number one fan
My soothing voice of comfort
I love you like "Kilode"
Babatunde Raimi Jun 2020
You ain't pretty
Until you have a semblance of my Diva
My Soulmate, my ride or die
Even the stars pays obeisance to you

This was infatuation turned love
Love, what a beautiful feeling
This feeling is magically magical
This must be pure agape love

Together we'll ride and glow into the future
To have and to hold; for better for best
Just hold on tight Sugar, it's a bumpy road ahead
The one that surely, will end in praise

Your vivacious persona is captivating
I have dedicated a shrine to you in my altar
Filled with "momentoes" and photographs
Thank you for being  my enchantment
My ride or die...

When you stopped the calls
Stopped the early morning calls
Halted the goodnight kisses
When the "Have you eaten" stopped
I knew I have lost you

I had sleepless nights
This by far, my worst nightmare
When you stopped nagging
Stopped asking about work
You created an indelible vacuum
That non could ever fill

When was the last time you asked?
About Chioma, Halima and Silfa
When you stopped sniffing on my phone
When you became monosyllabic
I knew I had lost my crown

Like droplets of dew
As the dawn breaks
Your tear filled the earth
You saved them for the last
Then you drew the curtain

You are the only star in my cloud
The only jet in my Airspace
I have gone wide and wild
Non is as sweet as you my world
Like the prodigal son I return
Please, open the gates

I wish the clock never stopped
Please forgive my immaturity
A dangerous one that cost me all
My heart beats for non but you
My world, please come back
Babatunde Raimi Sep 2020
If love was religion
I would worship you forever
If love was a school
You'll be my core and only course
If love was a song
Be sure the world would be our stage

Since the day you hacked my mind
The bad boy in me got extinguished
I wish I could turn mountains to pebbles
And tell NASA to build you castles in space
I wish I met you before my wife
"No mind dem oh! Na dem!"

If you fall for these true lies
It's either you are a learner
Or you came with a plan a gamer
Before you allow him plug his bluetooth
Be advised: he is just a flirty-flirty He Goat.

A Poem: Naija To The World

Naija to the world!
It is for a good reason
You were born Nigerian
Raised as a Nigerian
With a Nigerian dream

If you aren't proud of your identify
People, culture and heritage
Others are, even for her complexities
Uniqueness and the never say die spirit
If you doubt, ask Tyson Fury

A giant in Africa
The most populous black nation
Not in Africa, but the world
A people of great mind and intellect
Witty, strong and determined

Yes, we have image problems
Four percent of us holds a PH.d in the United States
While seventeen percent holds a Masters
We are the most educated ethnic group in the United States
Google is your friend

Some of our products, Afrobeats
Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Chimamanda Adichie
Anthony Joshua, Kanu Nwankwo, Chioma Ajunwa
Philip Emeagwali, Silas Adekunle and Col. Oviemo Ovadje
And of course, Babatunde Raimi

If they ask you of my identity
Tell them I am a proud Naijaboy
Ready to take my world by storm
To rebrand my great Nation, Nigeria
A country, so blessed, yet poor; but proud
Babatunde Raimi Sep 2019
I crossed the line
When i laid with another
I swear down
It was the devil's handiwork
For a moment i felt vulnerable

In the hands of Delilah
I lost my sense of reasoning
And judgement due to infatuation
Enchanted by her curves
Mystified by her eyes
My vision was obfuscated

If Adam fell, who i am?
It was the devil's handiwork
Samson gave his password
Lost his ministry on Delilah's lap
Eventually he paid the supreme price

Even though you knew
You still loved me unequivocally
While the smile fooled others
I saw the bruise in your heart
As you teared for love

Today, i remember my vows
Swear by the womb that bore me
Never again will i stray
Like a Sheep without a shepherd
All i ask is forgiveness
Laden with unconditional love

Ever been in a parade?
And the Commanding Officer says
Eyes right, forward match
My eyes are now single
Fixated only on my Jewel

Now that i am renewed
I want my Baby back
I am now a crossed check
Account payee only
Just like Romeo and Juliet
Together we shall be
Till death do us part

There is a new necklace in town
When it is hidden, it is a treasure
When it is unduly exposed
You can call it a trash
Sadly, adorned on a select few
Who have lost their sense of morality
In a generation worse than Soddom and Gomorra

Should I spot your necklace exposed
I will look as far as my eyes can see
For ages, you made us commit "lookery"
Then graduated to the beautiful art of "touchery"
Which usually crystallises to smooching
Reducing the value of "This New Necklace"

If it is a treasure, cover up
Why pay for it, when it is free?
They come in different shades and sizes
While the perfect sizes are about 45:55 with blazing pointers
Usually located on the upper ventral region
These new necklasses are golden kept sealed

The intention is to ****** the son of man
Tricksters bearing precious ornaments
Dis-oriented homebreakers and seeds of Jezebel
Even if it is not the standard areola size
Give yourself some value and cover up
Because all we see is a worthlessly-worthless  non-entity

Just that you know our truth
Under the spell of palmwine and chilled beers
We talk about your shapes and sizes
Even your ringtone we try to mimick
But we'll never talk about our precious jewel
The one who covered up to conjugality
It's never late to be right my dear
If you've got it, and it is a treasure, cover up...

They ride on celestial chariots
Belonging to "Class Untouchables"
They move with audacious swagger
So powerful, yet culpable
We all admited their courage and zest
But wait! If Naija is not a joke
How can a Parrot arrest the mighty Eagle?

The Eagle is quick to label
Especially when a match stick is missing
Now that the vault is desecrated
Where are the labels that shows it all
Crime, case connected to, and scene of crime?
This, surely, is a sacrilege

Let's see where this pendulum swings
That we play not judge, jury and executioner
If the Parrot can arrest the Eagle
And the hunter is becoming the hunted
Does it mean Elephants can fly in our Nation?
Or a victory for democracy?

We say no to hunger strike
Lest they play the ulcer card
And then apply for medical attention
Hunger strike, while some are held without trial
"Na here we go judge the matter"
Lesson learnt, none is greater than the law

Many a people fast compulsorily
Not because we are religious or spiritual
But for lack of what to eat
Yet you **** our economy with impunity
You have looted our looted funds
So, it's no more "Uhuru" as "Aluta continua"
And surely, "Victoria ascerta"

A Poem: No Time For Love

When you said goodbye
I never knew this day would come
I cried and almost ended it
You thought you already won
But the tears were not for you
They were reminders of the wasted years
The ones we shared together

Making fake promises in the moonlight
We painted our world with red
I shut the door against serious minded prospects
I was carried away by your lines
Oh! How heaven blessed you with those sweet lies
I teared because I truly love you

Let me even ask you
How do you want your madness?
Actions begets reactions you know!
Do you want it with clothes?
Or you prefer to form Adam
All I need is your mothers' maiden name
It cost just a little over two dollars

Now, you think you found an angel
Suddenly, you are ready to settle down
What happened to those promises?
Every tear I shed, dots your  future
When things fall apart
Just like a park of cards
Don't look too far, you earned it

I allowed my sense of judgement
Becloud my sense of reasoning
I fought everyone for you
I thought I found a soulmate
But in you my love, i found "The Devil"
I might be down, but not out
Maybe love is not fair after all

I have learnt my lessons
Henceforth, no time for love
I was very good and humble
You turned me to a very good bad one
For years I sacrificed for you
I could give you my life without hesitating
But this is where it ends

My life does not depend on you
My joy lies not in your hands
It might take time, but I'll get there
Like the Eagle, I will watch and wait
And in this Zeus' green world
Love will find me again
This time, for better for best

I found a diamond
Far away in the East
As beautiful as the descendants of job
Fair as the Maidens of Mallorca

I found me a Damsel
She glows at dusk and shines at dawn
With her big seductive eyes under finely carved brows
She is your definition of "Asa Mpete Nwan"

You are the rope that holds my heart
For all the costliest ornaments world over
Adorned with dusts of diamond
I will never trade you for all of those

Together we will grow and glow in eternal love
I can feel you smiling and giggling right now
The feeling is mutual "My Heartbeat"
Now that we are here, can we tell the world?

When I woke up this morning
With the subtke crow of the ****
Heralding a beautiful morning
I knew I was going to have a great day
I didn't know how, but I sure believed

Now that I found you
This, surely is a miracle
Dreams come true
If only we believe
Hei! Just that you know
I have been looking for your number
You and I are gonna have a great time
Can I have it now, please?
Babatunde Raimi Sep 2020
The **** heralded a glorious morning
Then the Sun streaked across my room
Still very much in my Adamic nature
It reminded me of your magic wand
The one you wield In Sin City
That amplifies your melodious ringtones

I know you are my everything
Because when I really want anything
I can trust you for all things
Including those very special things
I am glad I aimed at your heart
With a well controlled breathing
Then like a marine, I took my shots
I am glad I did, it was worth all the risk

Even when I am in the other side
I talk about you in my dreams
With fond memories of you and our escapades
My joy is only complete with you by my side
And each time I look into your eyes; I see fire flies
Take my hands and hold me close
Take a deep breathe, close your eyes

Let's swing and dance to something really slow
And do the things we love to do
Of all the ways I love to say "I love you"
"........." is eternally my favourite
Your smile lightens my day as the Sun
And your voice; the oxygen I breathe every day

Beyond racial, tribal, educational and religious lines
I will fight for you my love
And if I perish; I perish
If I come to this world again and again
I will choose you over and over
For you are my last bus stop
You are my life, my everything

How I waited and waited for your manifestation
You are my eyes, my greatest reward
"Obim", I surrender to your love that knows no colour
I can't survive another night without you my love
Come to me my love, come
Let me show you how real men play
For in you lays my generation yet unborn
Babatunde Raimi Aug 2020
I reserve my expertise
Until after dark
Illuminated by the moonlight
And the coast is clear
The perimeter secured

That's when we roll
Not like the death dance
Exhibited by the Crocs
But in sweet melodies
Emanating from sweet rumblings

Come my love, come
Let us swim in the ocean of love
Like the Dolphins of the Atlantic
If I waited till it was ringed
It is to give you a memorable banger

Come my love, come
Let us get lost on a lonely island
And swim with uncanny swagger
Get lost in sensual fantasies
For your sweet musings, is music to my ears

Captives of identity
Living in a prison of their own creation
They sleep and slumber?
When the world is moving
Wake up from your slumber
You slow and sluggard
Else you'll have no real identity

Go out and seek knowledge
Knowledge liberates and beautifies
Your choice, not chance
Determines the quality of your life
Receive the apostolic revelation
That will grant you grace and speed
That's how legends roll

Now that you know
Run with this
Obedience is key to success
Spice with action and you will fly
Take my counsel now
So when the Egyptians sell their houses
You will be buying in abundance

In this season of uncertainty
You need wisdom to navigate
Wisdom, the right application of knowledge
You want to be an endtime financial trustee?
Follow the covenant
As enshrined in the books
See Mathew Chapter 6 verse 33

God is about to rewrite your story
Are you covenantly ready?
Your maker is about to raise you
Who can erase whom God has raised?
As we worship and serve HIM
We will break limits on every side
For HIS covenant will HE not break

Life is full of questions
But God is all you need
Let your eyes be single
And you'll find answers
If your heart is in place
You'll enjoy swift response from HIM
Come, pray, worship, praise
Serve HIM in truth and spirit

Oh! Lord God of Shiloh
I come to you as I am
I see mighty men abound
But you are the Almigthy
Nothing is impossible for You
They have mockedmon everyside
If only they knew you were preparing me
They would have worshiped

Many look, only a few see
I can see Josephs and Jacobs
Like a Sentry, they are taking their place
As God rewrites the story of Africa
In fulfilment of our glorious destiny
Your name shall not be missing
Welcome to the future

There she lay
Her hair thrown back in disarray
Her body raked violently
Her eyes revealed one
Who had known not much but pain
The tears flowed freely
Down, down it came
And it dropped
Unto her cheap clothes
It gave it a rare design
It portrayed her life story

Be gracious in defeat
It is not a terminus
But a stepping stone to greatness
Put the blame on you
That's what great minds do

If you want to be a champ
Be humble, embrace pitfalls
One day, just one day
You'll become an aficionado
Then you'll tell your story

Only few punches left
Don't throw in the towel yet
The world awaits your manifestation
Look into the mirror and say
I believe, so I'll become
Babatunde Raimi Aug 2020
You brought joy to my soul
and lightened my darkened heart.
I just want to love you forever and re-write our history books and its negative narrations.

You are a power packed woman,
curvateously endowed in the right
proportions; in the right places with the
moves of a jungle cat.

In the eyes of our Creator, we are all
"Nwadiala". Anyone who calls another "Osu" is but a terrorist. Don't we all have red blood flowing through our veins?

My love for you transcends tribal or
religious lines. If I found love beyond the boaders of my village, why not? With our union, we break the chains of "Osu" and live as freeborns.

You are not just my heaven on earth, you are my still waters. You are the stream that flows in my heart, the sound that oozes from my flute.

When your father walks you through the aisle, I will be at the other end with a smile, to walk to from thence into bliss. For us, it shall be for better for best, till death do us part.

A Poem: Pandora Box

Open the pandora box
Don't just shake the table
Break all the legs
I really hate what i don't like
There is a place called forgiveness
Only when repentance is genuine
Once again let me loud it
Open everything; the can of worms
I have conquered fear
Nothing scares a Leopard
Nothing scares me anymore
A woman's heart
A deep ocean of secrets
And a mans', filled with deep ****
Is this true?
But wait, before you let it out
Let me cry my cry
If this doesn't break us
Nothing else ever will
Now tell me, what is it?
Babatunde Raimi Jun 2020
You bailed out
Just when I needed you the most
I thought we were building a castle
Because I saw me in you and vice versa
What a castle this turned out
A castle built in the air it seemed

She lured and flashed it at me
Then I lost my sense of reasoning
Allowed logic to becloud judgement
This is on me, I know
All I ask is one more time to make it right
Please come back, please

Let me lock "The piece"
And give you the keys
As a sign of my repentance
I lost your trust on the laps of Dellilah
If only you grant me a second chance
Never again will I stray

For every tear you shed
It ripped my heart into shreds
Took a piece of me away
And turned me a social misfit
My holy voice will I lift
To God of second change
Please, bring my love back.

We charted the cause like Sailsmen
Until we both reached a crescendo
We increased the tempo gradually
Until we graduated with honours
And when I heard the ringtone "Ewooo...."
I felt larger than life...

When I look at your "T" Zone
I get enchanted with the oil
As they flow from north to South
Filtering to the west then east
Giving your "Visage" an Angellc appearance
You see this one, "We die there"

I found me, when I found you
I found peace when you said "Yes"
Forget about the past "Ma Cheri"
Let's focus on our glorious future
And re-write this story abinitio
My part have I chosen in love
So, on bended kneels I ask, please, marry me!
Babatunde Raimi Aug 2020
You didn't respond to my calls
So I decided to invoke you in a poem
Now and forever, my soul yearns for your presence
I tried to stay afloat, glaring at your pictures
But this got me more sorrows
For my bed is lonely without you

Sometimes I pretend you are here
And hug my pillow so tight to feel your warmth
Only to find myself on an island called yesterday
Alone, lonely and missing your  presence
I just realised I have lost a diamond
While chasing after pleasures of vanity

Now I am left with memories
Your sweet smiles and laughter at the other end
How I so long to hear your voice at the other side
All I needed was just your "Hello" to start my day
And that sweet voice to draw the curtains at night
But now, all those are memories traded for vanity

Please don't break up with me
You know I love and adore you so much
Do you really have to go My Love?"
I wrote my best lines in your arms
Climbed my greatest heights with you in the picture
Without you I am a non-entity
All I ask, now and forever, please forgive me...

Poets never die
They live forever
On the pages of our hearts
With lines that resonates with us
They hug you so tight in their lines
And make you forget your past

Poets are Legends
They pierce through stony walls
With words that cuts like a knife
Not with the tongue
But with well conjugated lines
Oozing from the best of minds.

There is a man for every woman
A woman for every man
If there is a gift for all and sundry
Then, there is a poem in everyone
A poem that tells a story
A story or love, lust, hurt, all freely expressed

When I am sad, I think
When I am happy, I smile
If I want to save the memory
All I do is ink it in a poem
And never will it fade away
Memories that will linger till eternity

Poets are romantically romantic
Marry a Poet, you will live longer
They paint the world with words
And make the world a better place
They are masters of eros and seduction
Especially when they run their ink through your sensory receptors

When my time finally comes
I want to smile and die empty
Knowing I changed my world poetically
And to me, this is how to change the world
For even when we die, we never die

What shall it profit you?
When you open a private arena
Your hallowed sanctum of decorum
And feed it to the dogs
For mere sensual ecstacies

With the latest gizmo
Delivered surreptitiously
You turn it on, and loud
Travel to a world of infinite pleasures
Attain ******, yet lonely

If it is not right, watch it
You are probably being filmed
You get laid and get paid
Your escapades hits the internet
Congrats!, you are now officially a **** star

Poverty is a curse
A plague to be avoided
Work smart, lest you be poor
You too can cross the line
That very thin line
That separates the poor and the rich
Just take steps of faith
And be intentional

Poverty robs you of your ego
Makes you less of a human
But are people really poor
I guess not, just lazy I think
If you can get your hand *****
You will never lack what to eat
Run from poverty, faster than Usain Bolt
Do nothing and poverty looms

I just hate the coffee called poverty
How can I rent my wife to tourists?
Who does this for Pete's sake
This must be a spell
Is it a marriage with benefits?
Please help me ask these East Africans
How do you rent your wife to tourists?
That women have local and foreign husband!
Do we need to be re-colonised?

Again I say "Tufiakwa"
I don't care your tribe or race
Poverty is a universal plague
And winning starts with the right attitude
If truly you can think enough
That which you have, is just enough
Together, let's kick out poverty
It begins with you...

Today you break up
Tomorrow you make up
Then you realise it's a setup
After sweet **** make up
You had better wake up
You need to shake up
And also brace up
Relationahip have thorns and hiccups
But if you don't power up
Again, you will soon mess up
Open your sense and brace up
Do well to keep your eyes up
Only then will you end up
With tales of shake offs
That lead to your breakforth
Babatunde Raimi Jul 2020
Do you want corruption eradicated?
We need to wake up from this dream called "Niger Company Limited"
Else corruption will fester unabated
With accusations and counter accusations
Today, like yesterday, they tried to bridle the horse
That this also may be swept under the rug
"Na padi padi Government we dey"
Rest in peace to the fight against corruption in "Naija"

This is now a charade, a national comic
With mind shattering evidences rendered
We still found ourselves here, but why?
Of a truth my kinsmen, "There was a country"
These dis-honourable honourable already  shared the country for themselves
Here them shouting "It's okay, it's okay. What is okay, please?
All these drama kings and fainting thieves
"Kpomkpi, una time go reach. Cell na turn by turn"

They fed on our Niger Delta and polluted our lands
Subjected my people to extreme poverty and hardships
Left our children stranded in white man's lands
Watch, they will soon retreat to a "Closed door" in a bid to sell us a dummy
Sometimes I crave for a Ghadafi to sanitise our lands
I think we will just be better of if we are re-colonised
The mud is thrown up and now it will stick
What a master stroke from a student of Robert Greene

Today is a sad day in this animal kingdom we call "A country"
The screen play today is epic and deserves an oscar
When they eat our yams they are healthy
When it is time for accountability they feign sickness
As I play and recall the scenes of today in my head
I fear for this generation and the one to come
Before you retire tonight, please say a prayer for Nigeria
Because from the beginning, it was not so...

Mfonobong Ituen

Now, you got my attention
My perfect distraction
Private are privates
Lest I become an instant celebrity
On the pages of social media

If you seek beyond
Let's go to yonder place
And just talk the talk
Maybe lace it with actions
But I fear for me
Lest you too say...
"Welcome to fatherhood"
Smiles

Some call it "Allawee"
Compensation or gratuity
If you can it appreciation
And I call it "Thanks for coming"
Does it make less of a gamer?

What do you call it?
The money offered after ***
I heard they call it exchange
But everything "Prostitution noo ni"
*** allowance or sevice charge
It is a service you offered

The Easterners call it "Ego oil"
Sometimes they prefer "Ego ohu"
"Ego come next time"
Insurers call it premium
Bankers call it facility

It can come in phones
Cars, rent or school fees
Ilegality cannot legalise ilegality
The morale not withstanding
Because with postinor allowance
It's welcome to the league

Either way my dear
Prostitution comes in shades
They receive doses of tablets
Take you to the mountain top
All services fully paid for

The sugarcandy comes with a prize
But you've got to pay the prize
You receive the ink in  a funky plate
Get to Paris and back
Get laid and paid
You are officially a *** worker

*** for grade, grade for ***
*** for employment, *** for promotion
*** to close deals and gratification
My Dear, you are a *******
The oracle have spoken

Your sight breathtaken
My jewel of inestimable value
I must defend my assets
With canine teeths I will bite
I'll invoke volcanos if I please
I survived the toughtest of clans
Don't cross my path

I can be as calm as a Tiger
But things can change very fast
If you wander in my sacred chambers
We are unified by complex bonds
Bounded by oath, sealed with blood
With my life, I'll protect you
This promise I make till fade

We are as determined as the Crows
Imbued with the natural aggression of the Pitbull
With the tactics of the sneaky Fox
Lilke the Eagles, our Sentries watches
Take your paedophilia and crave elsewhere
For might is not right
****; if you see it, say it
Else, you too are as guilty as the culprit
