Once in awhile you sense a mystery,
from all that swirls within the night;
It carries your heart to an open door,
where you can discover a softer light.

This shine will greet your heavy heart,
with shades of golden warmth;
It covers you with twinkling stars,
and elevates your ebbing worth.

This journey brings a certain peace,
which quietly lives inside your soul;
The sparkling heavens then illuminate,
the truest path to your lifelong goal.

It seems the darkness of each night,
inspires that yearning feeling;
A loss of control so frightening,
it sends our emotions reeling.

But if you walk beyond that sunny door,
and bask in its wealth of honor;
Your life will improve with every step,
as dawn arrives in glorious wonder !
The eerie and soulful night can reveal a starlight's wonder,
if you open up that golden door and see what's waiting yonder !
The way I feel about her now,
brings teardrops to my eyes;
We were so close then fell away,
because of silly words and lies.
Honesty, integrity, best policies, we say,
But the rules of life simply fell apart;
and our friendship didn't stay.

Now I watch those yellow roses,
opening up in my backyard;
I once heard they meant love of friends,
but they nearly break my heart.

Life's too brief to quarrel,
yet often we just do;
If only a rose could solve the hurt,
we'd always see it through !

Yellow roses are a gift from God,
and we should never shun;
The chance to heal the painful stain,
to start again, shining in the sun !
This brief poem is based on personal experience, and many folks can probably relate to its theme !
Vandals overwhelm with beastly intention,
love is lost now--no more connection;
The world is spinning out of control,
and hearts are broken inside our souls.

Captivated by earth's magnetic power,
the vandals grasping hold devours;
Our reasons for hoping and praying still,
despite the fact we could all be killed.

Close to our living quarters they roam,
like demons haunting, throwing stones;
Nowhere else can innocent folks retreat,
slipping slowly, cautiously down the street.

If humankind can muster its will,
to violate the lurking evil's skill;
Then vandals won't stand a chance today,
(but tomorrow is surely another day).
The days are somber in this realm,
and hope disappears like dust;
Arranging lives and loves profound,
seems fraught with waning trust.

How do we keep our heads above,
the clouds we seek to chase ?
And when our minds turn melancholy,
how do we ever win the race ?

Facing chances to be inspired,
running from the stormy past;
A smoky sky looks down upon,
a world which cannot last.

Meek and mild with troubled hearts,
we lie on the sands of time;
And sadness brings a lonely call,
for words to save mankind.
The night was calm yet glowing,
with a sky so full of light;
I wondered if stars were singing,
a melody just as bright.

The children tucked into their beds,
and the autumn air so clear;
It's as if the song had come along,
just to tingle in my ear.

I walked among the pumpkins,
the leaves fell crisply there;
Along the coral pathway,
with the song still in the air.

Then suddenly I heard a cry,
from the hearty maple tree;
Reflected in the shine of light,
it begged to be set free.

So I began to sing up to the stars,
my favorite song of love;
And as my voice grew louder still,
celestial sighs came from above.

The peace I felt one eerie night,
can only be described;
As angels watching from great heights,
to keep our hearts alive.
The sky is filled with heavenly hosts,
who help us all survive !!
As the embers glow in the roaring hearth,
my mind takes me far away;
To memories of a love so full,
I can feel it every day.

We cherished every moment like this,
warming cozily by the fire;
Our kisses deep as were our thoughts,
with care and intimacy inspired.

Until I knew that kind of love,
my life had never been whole;
And then you came to me one night,
with your happy, joyful soul.

Then years flew by as they often do,
and we traveled across the seas;
Your gentleness and kindness,
were like a welcome autumn breeze.

Then one day you tried to drive,
upon a high and snowy hill;
The blizzard raged and you were lost,
leaving me desolate as I am still.

So I light this fire every single night,
to reach you in the heavens;
But the embers fade and float away,
without your sweet protection.

One day I'll sit and wonder if,
you can see me while I wait;
To join a heart that captured mine,
beyond the sun through God's holy gate.
Spending our days in a busy world,
we seldom realize what matters;
Looking to gain one another's praise,
our emotions are often shattered.

Yet within these walls of discouragement,
are remaining fragments of our souls;
And the courage it takes to gather them,
can be such a challenging goal.

There's no use in simply waiting,
for the days of doom to change;
We must lift ourselves to triumph,
where something of value can be gained.

And how do we stop the waiting game,
looking to push ourselves onward to glory ?
One foot in front of the other, they say,
yields dividends for our life's story.

Forging ahead as we pray for release,
from demons lying outside and within;
Will help piece together our broken souls,
while erasing all our troubles and sins.
Remember what President Obama said about "Hope and Change".
There's still time to make things right !!
