The frustration you get
When you wake up in the middle of the night
And can't fall back to sleep.

You look at the clock,
Hoping,
It'll soon be time to get up.
But then you realize
It's not even near that time.

It's like the sun knows when you're awake and,
Just to be a ******,
Takes its time coming up.

So you lie there...
Trying to get some rest.
You squirm and change positions,
But still...
Nothing happens.

You begin to think about
Your life,
Your future,
The world,
Everything...

Then, all the bad thoughts become worse.
You think...
Maybe something might happen,
Or something may already have happened.

You try harder to fall asleep,
But you can't stop.
Can't stop thinking.
And you feel...
Upset...
Overwhelmed...
And you can do nothing
to stop all the horrible thoughts from coming through.

Then you're at the stage where now,
Your thoughts aren't coming in patterns anymore.
They scatter...
Like a nebula.

So you lie there.
You've given up.
You feel hopeless...
Like no one could ever help you.
So you just wait...
Wait for everything to be over.

Is life really kind
Or does it serve humankind with sweet sorrows
On silver platters
Whilst taking a back seat
Enthralled by man’s inadequacies.
Or is it indeed kind…
A kindred force to reckon with
Sweeping mankind in a whirlpool of pleasantries
And a myriad niceties.
One thing’s for sure
It is an enigma
An unsolved mystery
And it’s bent on ensuring that this supposed.
State of affairs persists
Ad infinitum.

Peace of mind.
What is peace of mind?
-Peace within my mind can only now be temporary
-My mind...
No-
Thatmind that I possess is locked away

Was I wrong to seek vengeance?
Should I have first sought the Keyholder?
- I saw the key,
It was flying through hands
Like a childish game,
With me apparently their piggy

The fool in the middle
Jumping high and crawling on all fours
-As if I were the dog
... Was I barking mad...?
Did I choose to be the chaser?
Did I *start the game?

Oh, peace of mind
It *is
possible
Take a moment- call for time out
Realise you are the Keyholder
Stop juggling and hold your key in your hand
Unlock yourself and you'll have your peace of mind.

The magnificent Sun dims to a mellow tie-dye
The calm Moon emerges in the horizon
The cosmos spews stars into the night sky
The glimmering white jewels bow in admiration

Crickets sing passionately in harmony
“Relax your dulled tools. Tis the hour of Sabbath”
The black curtain signals a season of serenity
It is time to ****** the speed on your highway path

Go to your square coffin, rest on the myriad of cloud
All your worries will wash under the fountain of youth
Close your connection to the world, you are now dream bound
To meet your almighty imagination, head a mile down south

So when nightfall approaches, you should say ”Good-bye”
Before I reveal my heartwarming lullaby
Sonnets are actually much more flexible than initially expected. With all these limitations, writing this type of poem is actually pretty far from challenging...
