I was once a great tree
My circumference wide
My branches long
I reached to the heavens
I yearned for water
and drank heartily
And the sun,
the sun greeted me daily

There were days
Us trees
We would lounge about
Being trees
After a time; however,
I saw so many leave
So quickly
Cut down at such ripe ages

The teeth
The teeth
The teeth they gnashed
They tore into the flesh
To the bark
I was a tree
And there were many with me
But slowly, we disappeared

The teeth
You brought
The teeth
They gnashed
You held nothing back
And ripped apart my flesh
Just like the many before me
Your eyes find me

and I am lost...

within them.
There’s no greater peace
Than driving alone.
Speed rises, decreases.
The scenes change.
I find myself lost in my music,
Watching the trees pass..
My seat comforts me.
I pass towns I have never seen before.
I pull off on exits in desolate places.
New things fascinate me.
I drive to forget about everything.
To encounter new sights, new dreams.
In my truck, I remember you.
I think back to the last time I saw you
And I stay there for a while.
That amazing smile, your warm embrace..
I miss you.
I drive to old familiar places,
Just to remember.
Sometimes I miss my past,
Though I’d never return.
Sometimes I want to drive further,
And come back after a week or two.
Alone in my truck you could find me..
Happy.

mads
Like dragons ate mine,
Tastes like burnt honey;
Stepped on too many bees.

Oh, I crashed the aeroplane.
This will never be the day they left;
Already gone.
They were gone too far.

Oh, precious poison
Dance between strung out veins
Feeling nothing anymore
After walking a thousand years
To no where.

Tiny blisters throb with alcohol,
Blood trickles down two more throats.

Are you alive?

Some days when I walk out of the darkness,
Into the sun's light and warm caress,
My eyes leak for joy while I reach for sunglasses.

I don't mind if you see the droplets and a teary-eyed me,
What is an honest emotion between us, see?
You staring and the sun glaring, am I that funny?

At times the sun hides behind and above the cloud cover.
I know that it would different be, if there was a secret I could discover,
Cool air and droplets, like teardrops, cling and closely hover.

I try to make you laugh, so you won't get down,
You look at me strange and say I am not funny, and stop clowning,
around, you say it won't help and I have made you frown.

I see my folly, and where I erred,

One must break the cycle, to begin anew,
If droplets do not gather then no dark forms ensue,
The sun may always be there and the bright orange hue.

So I will not cry or laugh till I do,
That will reduce the water droplets too,
Wait,
I am such a simpleton, there is more
here than, where the sky and land meets, the horizon,
where land meets a body of water, the shore,
I can't take the darkness away, not even with a siphon.

I will stay at your side, you'll see, all
through this and no matter how wide,
the Blackness that clouds, no matter how deep,
it will not win
for it has never fought a clown like me.
If laughter is the medicine then humour is the cure,
Jokes can be so wrong and a child's giggle so pure!
