Standing on top of a bridge
With the Chance to change everything
Looking you right in the eye
Looking up and down
Not knowing what's right and what's wrong
Forgetting the difference between good and bad
Not knowing which way to turn, or who to trust
Feeling all alone
Darkness fills your insides
Slowly destroying you from the inside out
Having no way to stop it, no way to control it
You don't know what to do anymore
You step closer and closer to the edge
Wondering what it would be like
What would happen?
You get ready to jump
You can’t stand the pain anymore
You can't hold it in any longer
You take one more step to the edge
You bend your knees
You set yourself off soaring
Heading straight to the water
There's no turning back now
You break out in tears
Screaming, knowing you just ended your life
That it's all over now
Never following your dreams, never living out your future
Never seeing what could have been
You’re a couple feet from the ground now
Realizing everything
The difference between good and bad, right and wrong
You wish with all you have that this isn't real
But you just keep falling
You hit the water with a mesmerizing splash
There's so much more pain now
It's slowly disappears
You try to scream nothing happens; you reach for help, no one’s there
You hear sirens getting closer
But now the noise slowly fades
All the pain is gone now
You can't breathe you can't move
Water is filling your lungs, your drowning in your own troubles
Now everything you ever knew everyone you ever meet
Everything you never saw
Everything you never touched
Everything you never felt
Everything that never was
Never will be
When you're still waiting for the snow to fall,
It doesn't really feel like Christmas at all

Tell me your secrets and tell me your lies
Tell me what keeps you up
All through the night
When you lie in your bed
And the still creeps in

What are your triggers, your quirks or your prose
Is the soul you carry round
Something you hold close
When all else you know
Slow..ly fades

Your sorrow is wasteful
It banks on your pride
An echo on the morrow
From a long distance jibe
It's the one who will break you
It's the one who'll expose that fake in you

So tell me so softly, whisper so sweet
In the light of the day
Does your darkness retreat
I hope it won't linger long
I hope it won't do you wrong
I hope you'll forgive me one... day
The fingertips upon my neck stunk of stale cigarettes
the breath upon my face of smoke. I  handed over my
dreams with such disdain. My mind was elsewhere, was
I to blame? The moon above me soothed my mind as the
tears rolled down my face, hurt I could not hide. Now I'm
such a mean girl, he took my life, ruined my world.

Do you see the little lights flashing,
along the lonely highway?
That will lead to the dead end streets,
of the failing misery.
Do you see the dark buildings,
and all the abandoned rooms?
Do you know the truth behind the scenes,
of the cluster of buildings?
Oh those poor children,
their days are numbered,
and I don't know what will happen,
to them.

Blinking back a constant wave of tears,
Like trying to see the road on a rainy day
And smiling to avoid the things you need to say.
Swimming for the breakers, 'cause you don't care anymore,
But they always let you down and bring you back to shore.
Rest easy, baby, close your eyes,
You know it can't hurt if you're empty inside.
You're not at the top of the food chain if you're not there alone,
You don't need a mirror to tell you you've grown.
You never know what something's worth 'till it's almost taken,
With every headline and phone call you feel your heart breaking.
Never been so scared in your life and you know
That that's the thing that scares you the most.

You dream of that week sometimes, late at night.
You feel like a doll in a constellation of light
When you realize that you're only dreaming.
You're only dreaming, babe.
Breathe deep in the dark, count your fingers and toes,
Honest to God, only He knows
What's good enough to allow us to keep,
So live and let live and go back to sleep.
