You’ve grown tired
Of seeing people’s backs,
Slowly getting small
As they walk away from you.

You see yourself
No longer running,
Staying still
Until the next one comes
And until they leave.
You see yourself
In the middle of nowhere,
Enduring the biting cold,
Enveloped in darkness.
But, still,
You see yourself.

Realize that there is light,
As long as you don’t
lose yourself. Stay still
until one comes
and hold your hand
and not let go.

I can easily find you in a crowd
because of the gravity
of your gaze. It pulls me.
As if you've searched
for me, found me,
and waited for me
to look at you.

Your stare burns,
with a wish to be seen,
seeking assurance,
asking for a yes.

Your look lingers,
and send shivers.
It crawls from my cheek
to the curve of my neck,
and grows into a ball
at the pit of my stomach.

I see you, look into you,
and I know you see me, too.
