my sweet boy
can you feel that?
my love for you burns
it warms me
engulfs me
I merrily incinerate
my ashes catching in your hair
some sparkling
some shy
like tiny stars
in a dark night’s sky

my sweet boy
can you hear that?
my heart sings for you
melodies of love
harmonies of bliss
and symphonies of desire
sometimes perfect pitch
sometimes out of tune
but nonetheless
all these songs
they’re all for you

my sweet boy
can you see that?
I walk towards you
you gaze into me
tear filled eyes
for all to see
dreams of what’s next
will he have your nose?
will she have my hair?
oh, the adventures
we have yet to share

I wish I could bottle
the taste of your lips
I wish I could wear
the smell of your chest
all of my senses
come alive with such joy
and I promise
I’ll love you forever
my sweet
sweet boy
for the love of my life

sometimes if I stare hard enough

I see things in static

like there are minuscule,

vibrating atoms

dancing in place.

I believe I'm in a dream.

I don't really exist here.

instead,

I’m being blinded

by a transparent haze.

what is this place?

if I close my eyes,

clear my mind,

take slow,

deep,

breaths,

count from ten,

will I open them and see?

see who the atoms are dancing for?

or are they only dancing for me?
