What is
the
anthropomorphic
personification of
your
artistic soul?
Immerse
me
in the
gently
flowing ocean
of your secret
epithet.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

I longed for your return;
Waiting patiently by the window, I forgot how to live.
With a kiss you were gone; sent away to fight a noble cause;
You said the only noble cause in life was loving me, if anything.
Watching you fade into a cloud of smoke, right then I knew this day would come.
You said: “Curse the Gods! A moment without you is a moment without breath.”
I lost count of the moments, and of the breaths.
In a distant memory, you hold me close;
Now, all that holds me close was the beckoning gloom.

Cold in bed, I turn to where you should be;
I shun the emptiness, resenting it for your absence.
The apparent expansion of time torments me;
You’ve been gone but a month; but really a life has passed.
I’m sure the window has grown tired of the hours spent upon his fading frame,
The shuddering breaths fogging up the panes that now rarely boast the sunlight.

The carnations tossed a sorry, red sight across the hall
As you came through the door;
The languid form before me bore no resemblance to the man who left.
A tear escaped your eye as you recognised my loss of faith.
I shivered at your touch; your kiss was unfamiliar.
I closed my eyes,
And I knew that you had gone.
The wife of a soldier anticipates his return.

It was so easy back then,
I didn't have a care in the world,
I didn't care who I hurt,
I had no concern for who I broke,
The world shifted for me,
You put everything in perspective,
You changed everything.
It's really quite scary,
To feel this way,
For once I felt whole,
I knew I'd never be the same after that day,
You see, When you find that missing piece,
You want to glue that piece into your puzzle,
Because without you (my piece),
I'm just half a picture,
And no matter who tries to paint or draw,
No matter who tried to morph into the shape,
It just wasn't the same,
Not like you fitting,
Not like you being with me.

I don't think you fully understand,
How cold I was,
I didn't know how to love,
I didn't know how to accept love,
Somehow I changed,
I'm different now,
I don't care about another drink,
Any other man,
Because with you something's different,
I knew,
The whole time,
I knew,
When you spoke my name,
It wasn't you just calling to me,
It was a sign from the soul,
It was like a song to my heart,
No one had ever made it that close to my heart.

Most of the time I don't even know how you do it,
The way you nurture me when I need it,
The way you give the good,
The way you take the bad,
You're selfless when it comes to me,
You're not scared to hurt my feelings,
Yet, you never aim to hurt,
You're graceful and tact when you speak,
I would of gave up on me,
I would of left my pretty little *** in the dust,
But not you,
You're the knot on my rope,
I love you too much.

If I ruled the world things would be this way:
The Hunger Games would be watched every single day,
Tomorrow When The War Began would be listened to and read,
While others choose to have the figurines next to thier beds,
John Marsden and Suzanne Collins would be the best known authors,
And mothers would go out to dinner once a month with just their daughters.

I would be a rich and famous actor and a poet,
Ellie, Julia and Taylor have talent and I know it,
I just need to figure out the best way for them to show it,
Maybe in acting, writing or singing,
I have no ideas for my bell they are not ringing.

I would stop all war and poverty,
And everyone would have the same amount of property,
I would even out the money for every country,
And have all my fruit and veg hard and crunchy,
Our world would be a multi-cultural, accepting all religions,
One day I would get rid of all televisions.

Swimming would be a sport at school as well as cheerleading and diving,
But everyone would have to take lessons in surviving,
And every day my hair would be curled,
All of this would happen if I ruled the world.

Hush hush.
Sunbeam, stop talking.
It's still dark in the air
and I'm falling,
sailing the deep and tranquil seas.

Sunbeam, drown me out.
I'm not ready for the sky.
The future is on the bound
and this is too much.
I've lost myself again.
Collapse, don't blink.

I'm wrapped in cotton.
Don't make a sound,
for a little longer.
These bitter sweet dreams
are only too familiar to my sleep.
They have known and forgotten,
******* in stories.
Just rake it all in
and lay claim.

Sunbeam, tick tock.
Unfold me.
Hail these pages turning
as this scenery grows.

That's poetry,
the rhythm of the soul
to express
its sorrow or joy,
to express its sense of world,.....
so the breath of the spirit within a poem,
helps me to follow
the breath of the spirit
within me....
