I'm just normal
I'm just boring
and when I tell you about myself
I just know you'll end up snoring
but know that I
won't runaway
when you tell me your different...
I'll listen to what you have to say
and always know I don't want to be
just another guy to break your heart
but these forces of fate
are determined to keep us apart.
I know you know
my feelings are true
you can see it in the way
I look at you.
Sitting here next to you
and then we start talking
I don't even know
but now we've started walking
and now I've gotta tell you
I'll never let you fall
I've gotta tell you
you need to stand tall
and tell the whole world
just what it is that you believe in
I'll guarantee you
I'll never leave you.
Even if your stuck on the other side
of a glass wall
I'll always tell you
you need to stand tall
and even if
you're drowning in an ocean of sorrow
I'll guarantee you
I'll be here tomorrow
so don't ever try to be someone else
you're you
so just be yourself
I'll guarantee
if you stand tall
then i'll never
let you fall..
I don't want to write for you
because you'll never want my words
I don't want to be so madly in love with you
I should have known
that you're not a beauty you're a beast
so go and take your sweetness
and build a candy house
I won't be drawn there
so go and take your red hood
and buy some imaginary new clothes
go and take your magic mirror
and smash it into pieces
go and take your lies
and spin them into gold
lastly go and take my heart
and feed it to your evil queen
I don't want you to have it anymore...
The weather outside is "Colder Than My Heart, If You Can Imagine" (A Day To Remember)
but that won't stop me from "Bleeding Out" (Imagine Dragons)
and you know I won't be "Happy" (Pharrell Williams)
as I am "Without You Again" (Sam Shaber)
I would never try to force you to "Stay" (Mayday Parade)
don't try to tell me I need "Therapy" (All Time Low)
until you hear "Both Sides Of The Story" (We Are The In Crowd)
you've always told me to be "Brave" (Sara Bareilles)
but now I'm afraid of the "Demons" (Imagine Dragons)
I'm sure we can "Let It Go" (Demi Lovato)
after all we're just "Human" (Christina Perri)
as long as you know "I'll Be"  (Edwin McCain)
more than "Weightless" (All Time Low)
up here like a "Satellite" (Rise Against)
but now you're back so let's "Begin Again" (Taylor Swift)
and "Step" (Vampire Weekend)
to our "First Dance" (Nevershoutnever!)
before we sit together under the "Starlight" (Taylor Swift)
until we're "Out of Time" (A Day To Remember)
If you liked this poem and haven't read my other poem "What Was The Name of That Song" then you should read it if you have a chance.

I wake the mornin
To the birds in the trees
Sunshine in my eyes
Another day"s delight
Oooh, oh, oh

There nothin
Like comin to school
Fresh like a summer breeze
Makes the day not so long
'Cause summer comin on
Faster than speed of light

This is sweet, sweet serenity
This is sweet, sweet serenity
Oh yeah
Sweet, sweet senenity

Don't need nothin fancy
No need some boy to complete me
I'm fine my own
But know
Cause I got people
I got friends and family
Who are faithful
What might I need
More than this sweet serenity?

Sweet, sweet serenity
Sweet, sweet
Sweet, sweet
Sweet, sweet serenity
I am happy with my life
I don't need any help
No, no, no
Doing just fine on my own
Even when times are tough
I bring myself back up
I am strong
I am strong

This
Is
Sweet,
Yes, sweet, sweet serenity

Sometimes I feel as though
There is an ocean
Between me and other people
A mental sea, of course
I don't act like them
I don't think like them
I'm not one of them

I wish it didn't exist
The Black Sea of my mind
I wish I could just be normal
Like everyone else

I wish that I could find my niche
Where I might find my place
In this vast world
Where I could find people like me
To hang with
A best friend even
That'd be lovely

Oh, how I wish...

I once saw a blue jay in a oak tree
And awed as mother fed her children
And flew away for more.
The little feathered things
Stared at me and peeped
Then mother bird came back
And fed them once more
Then they all laid down
Mother included
And they took themselves an afternoon nap

That was such a natural experience
Yet it changed me in so many ways
Teaching me things
No book
No poem
No teacher
Could ever explain
Motherhood is love,
No matter the species
The race, the culture.
Motherhood is love.
