Tirelessly Tired.
Elise Oct 2013
The distance between sun and moon,
forever chasing each other,
never catching up,
running in circles,
light to dark,
that's our love,
it's never enough.
But unlike heavenly bodies,
I've grown tired,
I'm giving up.

I'll be seeing you.
Elise Oct 2013
Hello,

I'm losing myself again,
it's getting hard like it was back then,
i'm leaving for now, I can't wait for you to say when,
I know this is unexpected based on how good we've been.

You keep me going but you make me fall,
my strength becomes weakness when you come to call,
I can't hold my head up high anymore when all I want is to curl into a ball,
I can't continue to give you my all.

I'll always be here if you need me though,
please don't take this as a hard blow,
i'll be back for you, promise, so don't let go,
I love you too much so I need the pace to slow.

Stay strong for me when life get's rough,
don't give up when you think you've had enough,
you have so much potential and goodness and stuff,
just remember that for me, always stay tough.

I'll be seeing you.

Elise Oct 2013
Bombs exploding in the dead of night,
skies burn with ash and red light,
my words burn a hole in your beating heart,
as I tell you I'll cause us to fall apart.

Saltwater reaching over scalded shores,
fire and water in never ending wars
extinguishing flames brought from anxious nerves,
you tell me you'll not leave me, it's what I deserve.

Not forever.
Elise Oct 2013
I feel myself slipping away,
seeping into the cracks of your soul,
you're taking all that I have left,
but with no intention to remain.
A dangerous game I feel we're playing,
knowing I want to be your lover,
only allowing me to be your friend,
this won't last as i'm losing myself,
you'll take it all and look for more,
but nothing will be left,
and you'll leave me in the end.

Elise Oct 2013
This soul is covered in ash left behind
from those who've burned me with their selfish lies
with matches in hand and flawed regrets they stand
as they watch the heat that chars my bones
and melts away the last heart-string I own.

No going back, they can't change this obscenity
they made their choice when they walked away,
my love was in their hands,
the love that encompassed my entire being,
now I am forced to give what's left to the dark,
the dark I've been forever running from,
the death I will now gladly welcome.

I'd like to be buried deep beneath the soil,
six feet under no longer breathing; no more toil.

My lungs are tired,
my heart carved out,
no one listens to me scream and shout.

My darkest fantasies ignite in my skull,
cutting, biting, drowning, I want it all.

Give me the pain I need to feel alive,
then leave my side as I slowly die.

Happiness Repost
Elise Oct 2013
A person
never
truly
understands
the meaning
of the word
happiness
until
they
experience
it for
the first time
in their life.

I think as children,
we have a glimpse
of what it is
like to be
truly happy.
I think that comes
with innocence.
But as innocence
slips through
the cracks of
our fingers,
it is our job as
human beings to
search for that
feeling once more.

It may take
all your life,
lying on your death
bed, blinking for
the last time,
and with that last
blink, with
your eyes closed
tight, you realize
that you lived a happy
life, and things were
not always as bad as they
seemed. Then you open your
eyes one last time,
the new gleam  in them
giving those surrounding
you a glimmer of hope,
looking forward to the future.

Or, you may find
it in the smallest
of things. You may
be lucky enough
to experience that
feeling of pure bliss
without any reason to.
To just be happiness.
To carry it with you.
And even if times get
rough, you are still
able to hold onto
that feeling.

happiness
To truly feel it.
To truly feel free.

entering my bloodstream, through my veins,

My love for you grows each day,
I'll never leave your side,
I'll be here until the day I die,
I feel the weight of this beneath my ribs,
but I love the ache, it keeps me going,
it reminds me that you're here on this earth,
whether or not you are mine,
you make every day more beautiful,
your existence takes my breath away.

Why can't it be me,
do you not see how perfect,
how everything you say,
how every move you make,
proves we are meant to be?

Why won't you open your eyes and see
just how beautiful you are to me,
I see a picture of the stars,
I think of you,
the ocean waves whisper your name,
I can't escape your ever-living grace.

I can't change how I feel,
my heart has been carved out
and stitched back together with
every word that you say,
your breath keeps me alive,
even though you are so far away.

*Please, we are meant to be.
Please, I want us to be.

I can't breathe,
stop staring,

staring, glaring.
Heat surges through my veins,
from my ears straight to my toes,
heart is racing,
sweat beading,
staring, glaring.
I can't speak,
I can't see,
stop staring,
i'm shrinking,
I want to disappear,
why can't I disappear?
Staring, glaring.
I can't run,
i'm locked in this cage,
my mind's a mess,
tearing me apart,
why are they staring,
why are they glaring?

bodies magnetic resistance,

You know it's bad when she
doesn't leave your thoughts,
not even for a single second,
with every breath you take,
with every beat of your heart,
with every blink of your eye,
with every twitch of your lip,

not once does she leave your mind.

No matter how hard you try,
you can't seem to fight,
no punch,

no sleep,

can free you from her solid grip.

But still, it's worth every second of it.

Laughter heard in the dead of night,
deep in the forest one could see a faint light,
drawn to the shadows of the wooded glen,
an enchanting gathering takes place here every now and again.

Creeping silently in the dark,
the crisp air, the smell of aged bark,
one glance and it's clear,
it's the pixie's time of year.

One large circle of mushrooms in a meadow,
broken twigs laid out, making a dainty shadow,
spiderwebs laced around flowers and leaves,
now the faeries crawl down from the very tall trees.

Translucent skin, they're white as snowflakes,
swiftly moving as each body awakes,
they greet each other, kisses on the cheek,
each one with their outfits, looking very unique.

Pale skin giving off a faint glow,
not one of them looking above or below,
all concentration on right here and now,
no limit put on the laughter they allow.

Bare feet glide through the dewy green grass,
their eyes burning bright with each song as they pass,
the dancing seems to go on forever,
their rhymes are so funny, so tricky, so clever.

The most mystical thing one could lay eyes on,
the dancing faeries from night until dawn,
no more joy in the world could ever be seen,
than with these pixies twinkling eternally.
i just really love faeries. i wrote it mostly for faeries but i guess it also reminds me of rach. i think you were a faerie once rach. me too i was too.

A story.
Elise Sep 2013
I admit I fell for you,
never with any intention to,
you spoke to me so full of passion,
that first conversation we had.
Somehow a friendship stemmed from that,
I really wasn't sure where your mind was at,
but I learned quite quickly,
and I offered you my hand.
You gently took it and let us grow,
we became rather close, it wasn't a show.
Now you take me for a liar,
but we both know the truth.
I was there for you because I wanted to be,
you told me that you needed me,
now you throw it away,
i'm not just old trash.
Don't leave me now from one moment of weakness,
I can't believe I showed such bleakness.
I never meant to hurt you,
you're one of my favorites.
These weeks without you have been difficult,
I've had no one else around to turn to.
Many things have reminded me of you,
keeping them inside isn't easy.
I thought you'd understand where I was coming from,
you left without a word, no hesitation in your step.
I love you,
you're my baby,
come back,
come back,
come back.

Coney Island
Elise Sep 2013
It was a cold day,
overcast with a few rain showers here and there,
I picked you up from Penn Station,
dragged you to the subway steps,
led you down the tunnel, onto the train.
You asked me where we were going,
I wouldn't let you in on the secret.
One train. Another train...
You saw the last stop and knew
right where I was taking you.
Coney Island.
You looked from the sign,
then back at me,
your eyes lit up right then,
a smile crossing your face,
you knew i'd been trying to get you there.
We took the long train ride,
Manhattan to Brooklyn,
a quiet ride,
we enjoyed each others silence,
only feelings left to feel.
Finally pulled into the station,
'Mermaid Ave.' read the sign,
our kinda place, this was our time.
The boardwalk was practically empty,
on this cold and windy day,
everyone taking shelter from the rain.
I led you to the beach,
the sand hollowed from the drops that fell,
you looked at me doubtingly,
asking with your eyes,
'how will this help?'
I pulled off my green sweater,
you looked at me in shock,
threw you a smile,
off with my boots,
you stood there,
watching me undress,
not knowing what to do,
not knowing my next move.
I was down to my bra and *******,
goosebumps covered my flesh,
you laughed at my pale skin and it's contrast to the sand.
I ran over to you,
lifted you up,
you started to scream when you realized,
every intention of mine was to get you into the water,
the salt that is so addicting,
just like your name on my lips,
you made me set you down,
and so that's just what I did.
I ran into the water,
screeching the whole way in,
you laughed at me,
stopped abruptly,
knew that I was reminding you
of who you used to be.
I watched from the water as you stripped down,
you came running after me,
tears streaming,
not a sound.
You waded right to me,
stopped face to face,
I pulled you in my arms telling you everything'd be ok.

Instability we share,
we are both very familiar
with the feeling that it brings,
you know i'm here for the long run,
whether we are both unstable or not,
I won't give up on you,
i'll never leave your side,
tell me all your troubles,
and we'll leave them all behind.
Elise Sep 2013
That's you out there,
completely exposed,
lying sprawled across the double yellow line,
trying to keep it all together,
but you've already lost control,
your eyes are empty,
they lost their light,
I can see the dismay,
what are you doing to fill the void?
The cars may come,
their lights will shine,
they won't stop to help,
they won't see you,
it's too dark and so are you,
their tires will crush your body,
you won't be able to take the weight
and then you will be nothing.
You can't just lie there hoping it will change,
get up, move,
it's your life,
don't let it waste away.
