Neath night's velvet cloak
All sequin strewn, I turned,
Faced the wall and cried
A new day dawns bright
I sip cold and golden air
Contented to be
Firecrackers at night
Orange flash, saltpeter smell
Pumpkin flashes smile
The nail that sticks up
Gets hammered down, flush and tight
But the floor still creaks
Quantum gravity
Big and small or not at all
Stringing us along
Dry rusty brown leaves
Feet make crackles and whispers
Alone with my thoughts
Autumn's light was fair
Bright, crisp, clear, with subtle warmth
Cycled up then down
Scratch through the coating
To metal, then acid dip
clean, ink, pounce, and print
Thank you again for the inspiation Bala
With thought's silver spark
Imagination's flame lights
Gauzy moths fly in
I will and must dream
but what you think may be right
Loves my ******
