Buffeted by winds
Blind, within my chrysalis
Pulsing as I crawl
Through dense clouds full of rain
Always looking for a flame
This is a Tanka (or Waka) it consists of five units usually with the following pattern of
5-7-5-7-7
Your vivid colours
Delicate taste and sweet scent
Luminesce my soul
Polysyllabic
Gobbledygook and such like
Black's white and down's up
Deep inside of you
There glows a fire, warm and bright
My eyes reflect it
You, in long tweed coat
Spin, screaming, squirrel on chest
Nature abhors you
your words – so alive and powerful
they hold my gaze for so long
i forget to see where i'm going
