The winds have changed directions,
But I wasn't sailing,
I was asleep.
laden with rain
an american robin
labors through
the sepia horizon
Twilight…
day surrendering
light into
submission,
taking a knee
before the night,
entrusting its
future
to a darkness
unknown,
waiting in the cold
—for dawn to return

(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2018)
Painting with words,
poetry my canvas

Hanging through the ages
—signed with my blood

(Ocean City New Jersey: June, 1969)
Time…
our most precious consumable

Buying each footstep
—lace on the pall

(Dreamsleep: April, 2020)
