Pride
takes an expensive ride

Only this does coincide-
I always take my own side

All over there's motivation
but so few find the right direction

Not mere living
but meaning

Those who are meek
are admired though they don't speak

Those who scorn
will later be pricked by life's very thorn

Those who fail
will someday prevail

Those who succeed
do humility need

Those who are kind
never fail to have others' interests in their mind

Those who doubt
don't belong to the crowd

Those who dream
somehow run short of steam

Those who need not
hold no envious thought

Those who don't compete
upon them such tender sleeps do greet

Those in the slow lane
equanimity they manage to retain

Those in the fast lane
so few do escape from serious pain

Even love in its grandest splendour
might lose its ardour

I don't want to be a bird
I'll be shot
nor a fish
to be caught.

I don't want to be a rat
I fear the cat.

I don't want to be a frog
appetite of the croc.

I don't want to be a doe
target of the arrow.

I don't want to be a tree
the wood-cutter knows no mercy.

I don't want to be a chimney
the smoke might **** me.

I don't want to be a car
hate travelling too far.

I don't want to be a train
passengers never cease to complain.

I don't want to be a thief
my dad is the Police-Chief.

I don't want to be a judge
I'd worry too much.

I don't want to be a policeman
scared of the notorious clandestine clan.

I don' want to be a soldier
the gun is too heavy for my shoulder.

I don't want to be an HM
parents and pupils they love to condemn.

I don't want to be an avid reader
lest I end up thinking I'm clever.

I would rather be just an ordinary man
being loved by an extraordinary woman.

Let your living
            be your meaning

Wisdom doesn't boast
             ignorance's voice is loudly heard
             from morning to evening's close

I'll be your patient listener
but don't expect me to be a mindless follower

Too eager
          courts error

Many times I did fail
      it's not the end of my life's tale

Winning and conquering
          two words not in my reckoning

I am a friend of this simpleton
        so often does he do me a kind turn

It's great to belong
but ensure that does last long

Every day is a new classroom lesson
I am an ever beginning student

Trust me
but not foolishly

The heart is a lonely habitat
its owner is seldom home
blinded and distracted
it ceases never to roam-

wayfarer in a strange land
stranded on some faraway shore
where the local language it doesn't understand
it is no longer home- desired any more

We should be mobile
but without the mobile phone
be ready to walk a mile
without the nuisance of that bothersome drone!

We are each a universe
shaped by our heart and mind
with it we endlessly converse
most forgotten and left behind

as fresh waves visit our shore
and wash away our past footprints
all that life does portent is we should explore
and welcome new meaning into our precincts.

There's a time for everything
just be sure you are part of that something

I'd rather end power
than to empower

The best gift
is to give

That which can be counted
does not for anything count
the intangible of love and kindness
how can such be calibrated?

Chair of Philosophy--some who lecture
lack a proper thinking-chair

Why am I so happy?
     I drown myself in absurdity!

He retorted at me:
'Stick to the point!'
my immediate reply:
'What's YOUR point?'

When I tried to be too serious
that moment made me look ridiculous.

I should rather soon
return to the place of my origin
I have no reason to be here
it would ruin me to be in

even the sky is different
sombre and threatening
strange voices come from nowhere
it's pitch dark before evening

the fields are parched in brown
not a single flower is found
dry are the rivers-- birds are sickly thin
piles of dead leaves gather on the desolate ground

none did tell me this was alien territory
I have ventured on a journey carelessly-bound
now I am back to relate my story
bitter experiences ro recount.

Be fruitful
not over-full

The ally---timeliness
  and comeliness

A sentence, any sentence
should be void of pretence

It's easily bought---loyalty
   when the reward is money

Disgrace
when disgust hits the face

It's just this--norm
   an opinion people form

Life is disguise
trust not what's before your eyes

Life is language
few put to good usage

This I will submit
   I never did aspire for the summit

Accept, reject nothing
find the meaning

The chapter has been read
    evening sets in as silent glow
    what lessons has the day in purpose bred
    that I should abide by or follow?

   When too much the mind has been fed
   the less it seems to understand or know
   folly, envy and vanity are too widespread
   staying on in company but brings much sorrow
