She Is The Breeze
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
She is the breeze
that warms my heart
with memories...

salt edged

tasting of sand
and
soda pops.

Wrapped up
within a blanket
made
for two...

watching the waves
crash
within the depths
of one
anothers eyes.

Soft cotton candy
kisses
a perfect end
to this...

a day at the beach.

Did my ears
mistake the sounds
of the wind
and rain
for your sweet voice...
whispering soft
I love you.

Or did my heart
just paint
those three words
upon your silken lips.

I know not
the truth of it
but let me in a kiss
a touch
speak clearly in return
when I say...

I love you.

Better Off Without Me
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
I gave my love a letter
written in my tears,
that said it would be better
had we never had these years.

I placed in on her pillow
as she took her bath,
the tears stung like willow
when I heard her childlike laugh.

My heart now softly shattered
my eyes were burning red,
for once my love had mattered
or so her sweet lips had said.

I heard footsteps and weeping
her voice said don't turn round,
was I just not worth keeping
so you cut the ties that bound.

I turned and held her softly
and whispered in her ear,
I thought you didn't need me
and my illness and my fear.

She slapped my face hard screaming
that's not your choice to make,
her tears were softly streaming
as I saw her heart there break.

In sickness and in health dear
my promise to you true,
so let this be one less fear
that I take away from you.

I wrote my love a letter
she gave it back to me,
she said i'll make you better
cause I'll never set you free.

Exorcising my Daemons
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
There in the looking glass
he stands
his back to me...

a sign says kick me

            kick me when I'm down

                           then kick me some more.

I break the mirror
shattering the illusion all is well
my mind
               in pieces
                              Pieces together the fragments
of my pain
the edginess of my torment
cuts me deep
as I bleed darkness
on an empty page exorcising...

My daemons.

This is in response to Umbra's poem Demons to show she's not alone we all face our own darkness.

Natural Love
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
I gave to her a honey comb
to brush her golden hair,
and placed on her a daisy chain
around her neck so fair.
Foxgloves I gave to warm her hands
and blue bells for her wrist,
then from the mountain air I stole
the pine fresh perfumed mist.
A dress made up of fallen leaves
and stitched with silk worm thread,
and there a spider spun a veil
to place upon her head.
I gave to her a sweet bouquet
of fresh assorted blooms,
and took her hand and gave to her
a ring of wild mushrooms.
Beneath the stars I gave my heart
and to me she gave her kiss,
as two lives where bound as one
in the act of wedded bliss.

Butterfly Kisses
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
What sick twist
of fates cruel knife...
could show me love beyond my grasp
and nightly
taunt my fevered soul
with
her sweet kiss and image fair.

What evil
here beneath this sun...
could ****
my eyes my heart
my love
for love of one beyond compare.

Then give me hell
and punish me
flay my skin and burn my bone
but first
one kiss
of her rose lips
the sin for which I must atone.

One touch would set the stars aflame
and rend
the veil that
blinds thine eyes
and gives
my heart the stolen wings
from kisses born
of butterflies.

worn loose around your naked shoulders,

bunched up

your hand stretched out
beckoning

skimming

The Shadow Man
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
To all BEWARE, don't climb the stair,
don't stumble tumble down.
For just behind the kitchen blind,
the SHADOWS roam the town.

They slide and glide, so run and hide,
promise me NO PEEPING.
Or they will see and believe me,
you'll wish you'd been sleeping.

Their fingers scratch the window catch,
and TAP upon the glass.
leaving their stain upon the pane,
as they so softly pass.

The sheets pulled tight hold back the night,
you're paralysed with fear.
You cannot speak, as floorboards creak,
to warn that they are near.

The door **** twists by unseen wrists,
the slowly pushed AJAR.
Your eyes grow wide as just outside,
you hear your daddy's car.

The Shadows wait for squeak of gate,
and your heart skips a beat.
As Daddy's voice, leaves them no choice,
as quickly they retreat.

Now check the hall and up the wall,
the ceiling and the floor.
But he has ran, that Shadow Man,
and wont come back no more.

So rest this night, be blessed, sleep tight,
let soft your night light GLOW.
To safely keep while your asleep,
from SHADOWS down below.

I Have The Mumps
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
I have the mumps and itchy lumps,
my tummy's awful sore.
I have a cough, my arm's fell off,
my throat is red and raw.

I have big spots and polka dots,
flashing before my eyes.
My legs are broke, no it's no joke,
as if I would tell lies.

I've got the flu, Atchoo Atchoo,
I'll just miss school today.
Of course I'm sick, no it's no trick,
oh what a thing to say.

I've got the shakes and my head aches,
it hurts so very bad.
And what a bind, I've gone night blind,
why are you laughing Dad?

I almost forgot about tooth rot,
and frostbite of the toes.
I feel unwell, I cannot smell,
because of my blocked nose.

I'm far too ill to take a pill,
for they just makes me gag.
I feel so sick, please Daddy quick,
pass me the paper bag.

No need to phone Dr.SawBone,
he is a busy man.
I need no shots or creams for spots,
just soda and a fan.

My speech is slurred, my vision blurred,
oh mummy I should rest.
Now that's not fair, as if I'd dare,
to dodge my English test.

You're not impressed, I should get dressed,
and stop this sad charade.
My Dads no fool, he phoned the school,
and said I'd overlaid.

Loving You In Silence
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
How do I love you let me count the ways,
stealing lines for amateurs so give Shakespeare his plays.

I love you like the corn the breeze,
like wasps the fruits of laden trees
and flowers sought by courting bees,

I love you.

I love you like the ebb needs flo,
like forests need the sun to grow
and you're the rain in my rainbow,

I love you.

I love you like a child and then,
like you've never known from other men
and If only you could my heart ken,

I love you.

I love you like a silent night,
like hearts with wings first tasting flight
and every time you hold me tight,

I love you.

so do not ask why nor fret or cry
nor let your doubts in words now fly
just know that all alone I'd die

because

I love you.

If I Were An Animal
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
Oh how I wish to be a fish
And Swim the silver stream
splashing about with river trout
would really be a dream.

To be a bird you say absurd
but I would love to fly,
to dive to swoop to loop the loop
Touching the deep blue sky.

Now fancy that to be a cat
and play outside all night,
to take the air without a care
beneath the soft moonlight.

A dog maybe would more be me
chasing a rubber ball,
With one desire a nice warm fire
where I could curl up small.

Or a giraffe oh what a laugh
With neck so long and thin,
Eating the leaves from slender trees
With spots upon my skin.

No wait a while a crocodile
With teeth so sharp and white,
I'd guard the swamp with jaws that chomp
So best beware my bite.

Hippos are nice and so are mice
a rhino would be good,
a shark an ant or elephant
A hog waist deep in mud.

But I am me as you can see
and you are you of course,
But if you could I bet you would
Prefere to be a horse.

Bathtub Bounties
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
Once more to sail on waters pale
New worlds as yet unseen,
His soap dish boat he sets afloat
With wash rag sail of green.

The bubbles crash and gentle splash
As he leaves bath plug bay,
With plastic comb he beats the foam
And slowly pulls away.

His telescope carved out of soap
Is held up to his eye,
Sighting the beach beyond his reach
where unknown treasures lie.

He dips his oar and rows once more
as shadows swirl around,
But it's too late to navigate
the sharks that now abound.

His sword in hand he makes a stand
waving his arms about,
The soap sud sharks now just for larks
Try hard to knock him out.

His sail unfurls as west wind swirls
And speeds him on to shore,
The danger past on land at last
So now he can explore.

Grabbing his coat he leaves his boat
and checks his treasure map,
then off he set with ankles wet
And soap spray on his hat.

Beneath a rock shaped like a sock
The treasure waits for you,
so bring a ***** to where it's laid
that's all you have to do.

The spot was found he dug the ground
And opened up the chest,
Oh cheese and bread he loudly said
This treasure is the best.

Loading his sack upon his back
He set off for the shore,
filling his hold with wealth untold
He headed home once more.

but your not here

Kisses blown
you cannot taste,
through coloured glass
just go to waste.

Time alone
stroking the screen,
whispering soft
how much you mean.

I feel sad
that your not there,
to understand
how much I care.

So until

Last night you said I love you
as the stars began to dim
and I know it's me you dream of
as you lay alone with him.
For he offers nothing to you
and there's nothing you would take,
cause you are mine forever
and it's me for whom you ache.
He may share your moments
but it's the moments shared with me,
that give you sweet release dear
and sets your feelings free.
So long you longed for someone
to let you live again,
so take from me my aching
as I take from you your pain.
For now I cannot hold you

but tonight I'll say I love you

Charlie the Gnome
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
Charlie the gnome needed a home
and so he looked around,
the garden shed too big he said
and too high off the ground.

The bar b que would never do
the ash would make me sneeze,
so on I go look high look low
in and around the trees.

The bird box white would be too tight
with chicks that chirp and cheep,
and constant song the whole day long
I'd never get to sleep.

The kennels large but then there's Sarge
and all his smelly toys,
plus after dark he likes to bark
and make a lot of noise.

The house I found is out of bound
too many folk in there,
so I'll stay out and look about
as I don't like to share.

A wooden crate there by the gate
would make a perfect home,
it's not too small or wide nor tall
it's just right for this gnome.

I need a door and windows four
some carpet and a bed,
a rocking chair would look good there
or maybe there instead.

Yes this is fine and it's all mine
with roses all around,
the place it seems straight from my dreams
is what I think I've found.

Charlie the gnome no more will roam
his house is warm and bright,
with flower beds of blues and reds
and picket fence of white.

Ignore line at bottom can't seem to delete it lol

The Closet Monster
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
The closet light stays on at night,
the door it stays ajar.
I am not scared just well prepared,
and it has worked so far.

No monsters roared or have explored,
my bedroom as I slept.
And if they did they'd meet the kid,
they'd wish they had not met.

For they you see would run from me,
as I jump from my bed.
My teeth I'd bare and pull their hair,
and make them cry instead.

The door now locked their escape blocked,
there's nowhere left to run.
They look at me and plainly see,
my shiney new toy gun.

With rubber darts aimed at their hearts,
they fall down on their knees.
And beg me so to let them go,
adding a pretty please.

They cry and shout please let us out,
and we will not come back.
Ok I say now go away,
and don't forget to pack.

Bag up the fluff and sticky stuff,
you keep behind the door.
And take the smell and slime as well,
you spilled upon the floor.

Later that night when tucked up tight,
so safe and warm in bed.
I close my eyes and realise,
It was all in my head.

A Fool For Love
DieingEmbers Mar 2012
Soft sighs from tender lips give ache
To heart in shadow made afraid,
to dare to beat to burst to break
for fear his words be over played.

His fingers pluck the withered bloom
to dry his eyes of wasted tears,
then casts it out into her room
and moves in shade as she appears.

No artists brush nor sculptor hand
er formed so sweet a female face,
nor could the playwrite nor poet grand
could pen such form with natural grace.

Again I fain from being seen
and risk rejection in your eyes,
as there you stand my love my queen
and I your fool wear nights disguise.

Morning born on silken wings
Illuminates where once love stood,
as unrequitted love now brings
a longing ache to cool the blood.
