I wonder if my bus driver notices that I always listen to music and never look happy.

I wonder if my teachers notice the red lines on my wrist when I raise my hand in class.

I wonder if my parents notice that their baby girl hides razorblades in her room.

I wonder if my friends notice that their happy and bubbly friend is breaking down on the inside.

I wonder if my classmates notice I hate the way they look at me.

I wonder...

Does anyone notice?

His constant burn in the absolute black
Is the forever warmth to which she attracts
He sits ever still merely watching her lingering gravitational slow dance
Gracefully spinning she wonders if touching him is ever a chance
Blasting his light on the side she shows the most
She knows his brightness is always close
In the darkness his fusion burns
So he can light the universe just to watch her turn.
Some of these are old stock, I started writing poetry a little over a year ago, but I do new ones every other day, or when I am inspired.

We turn pages like the hands of a clock,
merely waiting for the pain to stop.

The hurt that is everlasting,
and full of creeping doubt.

Where lacking of beliefs is in an action so dire,
blood is often required.

The causeways of life's sour disposition,
housed in simmering veins.

These lines of a most terrible descent,
locked in a loving embrace of time.

The countless seconds of infinite measures,
left in a crumbling heart, forever.

New beginnings can come from broken things,
if we only tend to the marionette stings of our heart.

Between...

There is a very fine line between a heart and a mind,
That are often confined to the smallest of spaces.

For each logical burst, there is an emotional explosion,
leaving very little room for any actual collusion.

Logic is the mind's steady locomotive moving along,
Often derailed by the most violent emotional bomb.

Emotions are the heart's scorching streams of fire burning hotter,
But are easily cooled by buckets of logical water.

The battle between these two is as epic as tectonic,
But possibly far less visible than supersonic.

The internal conflict rages on to yield one winner without a doubt,
Typically depending on the one we most needed out.

Of all the issues that were disputed by the other,
Like making the correct calculations or choosing to spend time with a lover.

I went looking for God
but I found you instead.
Bad luck or destiny,
you decide.

Buried in the muck,
the soot of the city,
sorrow for an appetite,
devil on your left shoulder,
angel on your right.

You, with your thorny rhythms
and tragic, midnight melodies.

My heart never tried
to commit suicide before.

It's sad that as we grow up the brightness in our eyes dims,
Our faith and hope gradually slim.

The stars disappear, they aren't as bright,
It all becomes opaque, the caliginous night.

Our voices get softer, our fear louder,
We prefer to be lonesome, oh we're such downers.

The last of our emotions drip out, the color in our skin drains out,
You don't hear not a sound out of us, though trust me, we want to scream and shout.

Our hearts expand but get quieter,
Filled with sorrow- heavy yet at the same time lighter.

We become so very lost,
We yearn for happiness, though we all know it'll cost.

Can't help but feel scared, paranoid,
We'll do anything to help fill the void.

We feel an emptiness in us- start missing nothing,
We want to learn how to trust, give us something..

It's sad that as we grow up the brightness in our eyes dims,
Our faith and hope gradually slim.

Butterfly, my butterfly; You touch my hair so sweetly.

Butterfly, my butterfly; Sad Star can only stay so briefly.

The nights that I stay, are always the ones I cherish,
The nights I am away, are cold and lack your appearance.

You touch my heart like the morning sun kisses the frozen flower,
Giving life to a new day, when past, dark clouds overpower.

You lift my spirit, when she breaks me down,
You never hesitate to lift me off the ground.

And even though you say, Star treats you better than the others,
Pain is still yet too close to make you my lover.

It is not for lack of love, Star la la you every day,
But even you are having trouble pushing the past "him" away.

Butterfly, my butterfly; Your Star cannot hold you tight.

Butterfly, my butterfly; Gently held with fragile hands all night.

Time could be so beautiful, if we gave it half a chance,
I can play the stronger man and you can be all sassy.

If you would only cuirass, as I have always done,
We would not have to let down our guards, to have a little fun.

Butterfly, my butterfly; My love does not come out just right.

Butterfly, my butterfly; You will have me completely one night.

Just give me time to heal my heart, so I can keep from falling apart,

And you will have your Star.

Walking down streets with trees, having no leaves to survive them.
Much like the inescapable mask holding you tight to the road warmth is derived from.
In the waiting breath of tomorrow, you find definition in your predicament.
A lost and hidden emotion coiled in the memories of a yesterdays once forgotten.
Failing to reach the point of unintelligible temperament, missing moments left in between starry skies.
Like a broken hand, or a heart closed shut, no love will be given as we lay in self-loathing.
In the ever ending sorrow, of a bird that lost its flight, as there is little bending in a heart that forgot love.
The constant misconception chiseled into rock with paper lies, in the loss of the ego's battle to disguise.
Hard is the mending of bridges burned so neatly, never more easily to forget.
But the rarely traveled bridges, with broken pathways of regret and neglect, are hardly ever whole again,
Despite carefully taken steps...
It's now easier to forget..

Edgar Allan Poe
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
  By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love—
  I and my ANNABEL LEE;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
  Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
  My beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
  Went envying her and me—
Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my ANNABEL LEE.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we—
Of many far wiser than we—
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea—
In her tomb by the side of the sea.
