Her perfume smelled of cheap Musk,
      tobacco and passion flowers,
the scent of betrayal lingered
         long after she had retreated
Ink staining blank pages,
sentiments caught fire

blurb in the moment,
a notion for the ages

simple inspiration's  nectar,
provocation's bedevilment

mockingbird of emotions
all that is sacred and trivial

tempting a blind ear to hear
invoking silent eyes to see

tainted lips to sing for eternity
asunder notes of parchment

one's own big blast of creation

"A toast to me, myself and I, a glass of sweet solitude."
Just a line from a poem I wrote a while ago. It's been ringing in my head for days so I thought I would shine some light on it, and maybe then it would stop pestering me.

If you want to know

Just where I stand

I'm with the beginning

That has no end

Leaning on

The promises made

To righteousness

I am it's slave

Holding tight

To Jesus Christ

The cleansing blood

The bread of life

The precious hope

That is to come

The continued grace

I fall upon

To the very one

I owe the most

Father, Son

And Holy Ghost

If you want to know

Just where I stand

I'm with the one

That died for my sin

There's a person deep inside of me
That goes against all I believe
Only does what he wants to do
Do you have someone like that too

It's the sin in me that's troubling
As I blindly follow where it leads
You'd think that "NO" is what I'd say
But far too often that is not the case

After all these years I should know
Because it looks good don't make it so
As the guilt sets in after all
Another trip, another fall

There's a part of me that knows whats right
Though I too often side with the other side
Who can save me from this wretched life
Praise be to my Savior Jesus Christ
