Tired.
Tired of the useless attention that seems to be received
Tired of being mourned. Tired of being grieved
Shouts of NO! and shaking heads
The thought I study inside my bed
No morning, no noon
Trust me. You can have some soon
My insides growl begging for more
But the fear of being noticed lurked my direction so I ignore and stare at the floor
At the break of dawn I awake to prepare
Unmasking my rib cage, I look in the mirror and stare
Bones defined by a thin layer of skin
Tired of being self conscious. Tired of ******* in.
Guilt I own collapses in my heart
Wanting to disappear. Wishing to fall apart.
"You starve yourself you know you do"
They shower me in comments over the things I know to be true
So here I am admitting my fears
After all, isn't that what everyone wanted to hear?
On the inside I accepted it, on the outside I ignore
Trained in the art of being a coward, I drag my lack of courage on the floor
I've always have had the fear of eating in front of the human race
Frightened of the judgement and looks I might face
The usual hunger pains begin right on time
I want to change, I want to conquer that climb
Head of fear. Body of depression. My stomach slowly moans.
I'm tired of bare bones.

I shot myself in the foot
Almost a year ago now
but I've only just realized it's still bleeding
I felt it twinge in the fall
felt the welt as it began to fester

but **** I'd thought it'd heal

The trickle is starting to stain
and I'm not quite sure it can be stopped
I'm not quite sure that I don't just have to live with it
I've got a solder and some gauze
but is it too much to ask
that I just get the bullet out?

I didn't notice that I'd touched the ground
until I began to take my steps
in time with all these feet that I thought
I would never quite catch, yet
here we are in pace
and I can feel the earth under my soles almost always
for the first time
in awhile

and though the nights still make me anxious
as midnight chimes I fear I've lifted off again
each night
like clockwork
makes me anxious
so far the daylights waken me once more
grounded me
and ever forward I can move

finally

they took it all
they took it away from me
i can have anything
nothing to mend
nothing to numb
nothing to heal
i have dissolved into nothing
nothing but quakes and vibrations
these throbbing hands aren't mine
last shreds of seeing have been blind
growing cold
i am concealed
in this hell that seems surreal

I know what you would say to me:
"At least I was thinking of you."
But all I can see through your texts
Are images of my past life.
Sitting alone in the humid
Air of Florida trying to drown
My tears in pool water as
His slurred words "I'm way too busy"
Mixed with a girl's giggling voice
Flooded my mind repeatedly.
Feeling nothing but numbed surprise
As my father's hand rushed towards me,
Bottles of wine on the table.
Seated at a restaurant as
My grandfather cried saying how
Much I look like my grandmother;
Same determination, same hope,
While refilling his martini.
I hear his dense voice on the phone.
He'll do it, he'll jump, but not if
I tell him that I adore him
And I'll stay with him forever,
Ended with the smashing of glass.
So please forgive me when I say
I'm not a fan of your drunk texts.
