Char
Jemma Aug 2017
Smokey charred fingers, wrapping tightly around loose strung souls.
That yelp and whine with every tug, a cord of music out of tune.
Smug smiles, and cautious laughs, fill stale and heartless air.
As stone hearts rumble and crumble, and false facades fall.
The tears and bruises fade, leaving behind warmth and home.

Jemma Aug 2017
"You left me behind"
The words are whispered into tear-stained bed sheets and then into cold air, that wraps its long and bony fingers are sunken eyes that have seen too much of this world for today.
"Give me a break"
The words are said with hatred and anger but hinted with desperation and exhaustion, shoulders are slumped and head is down, sleep tugs at hanging heads and drag them deeper.
"You have to go"
Watery laughs and heartless goodbye exchanged under milky moonlight as the one you once knew as yours, is being ripped away and tossed right out of your line of vision, and in particular, your life.
