There were days I crawled on my dozens,
And set my mandibles to the dirt,
Rejoice, o creatures, at my rebirth!
For today I take up wings to soar among the heavens.

Those that scrutinise can't do,
Wishing it was theirs,
Even when I poo,
They point out their worst fears.

Extending over many weeks,
The little one continues his tricks,
Kicking, turning and punching,
Almost ready to be the newest bundling.

Selfishness rules by day,
And greed by night,
Things we are denied by right,
Slide into pockets that can pay.

If only you knew,
Old romance is sweeter,
Than what modernity blew,
In, to leave many worn and bitter.

Our biases have brought us nothing,
But everything we shouldn't be,
Restricted by the things that ought not,
Trapped in the hypocrisy we call reality.

Here we are,
Living within our horizon,
Oblivious of the beyond things,
Images startling to the senses;

And opportunity meets resources,
Things fall into place,
Aboard the wings an eagle,
Off to see the things beyond.
