All my life
I sought
an angel.
And he appeared
in order to say:
"I am no angel !"

R. D. Blackmore
In the hour of death, after this life’s whim,
When the heart beats low, and the eyes grow dim,
And pain has exhausted every limb—
The lover of the Lord shall trust in Him.

When the will has forgotten the lifelong aim,
And the mind can only disgrace its fame,
And a man is uncertain of his own name—
The power of the Lord shall fill this frame.

When the last sigh is heaved, and the last tear shed,
And the coffin is waiting beside the bed,
And the widow and child forsake the dead—
The angel of the Lord shall lift this head.

For even the purest delight may pall,
And power must fail, and the pride must fall,
And the love of the dearest friends grow small—
But the glory of the Lord is all in all.

Poems reread
Words never said
Your kiss lingers on my lips
Your silk skin beneath my finger tips
Shackled by distance my passion grows
A starving beast, he knows his feast
Although he knows not when
The beast knows his fate
The beast craves forever his mate
WHAT'S riches to him
That has made a great peacock
With the pride of his eye?
The wind-beaten, stone-grey,
And desolate Three Rock
Would nourish his whim.
Live he or die
Amid wet rocks and heather,
His ghost will be gay
Adding feather to feather
For the pride of his eye.

It Was You

Makenzie
it was you whole stole my heart
you kept it close to yours
i thought things would last
forever and yet we fell apart
you took every part of me and
threw me to the ground
i broke into a million pieces
without a single sound
and now i'm left lost in this world
to slowly die alone.

Do you know the darling Abigail?

She lives inside my mirror.

The little ****** girl,

With the wicked smile so queer.

Do you know the darling Abigail?

She laughed and smiled and danced.

The she beauty beheld at once,

Did leave me so entranced.

Abigail is in my head,

She’d never been before.

The ****** beauty lies there,

Smiling calmly on the floor.

Oh behest the silent beauty,

She creeps beneath the bed.

In solemn mocking silence,

She crawls inside my head

I regret that faithful night of poisons,

The dancer i did betray.

It was never my intention,

to send Abigail to her grave.

I guess there is no repenting,

There’s nothing i can do.

At night i feel her cold dark hands,

And her smile of  “how dare you.”

The sun's gone dim, and
  The moon's turned black;
For I loved him, and
  He didn't love back.

The spider, dropping down from twig,
Unfolds a plan of her devising,
A thin premeditated rig
To use in rising.

And all that journey down through space,
In cool descent and loyal hearted,
She spins a ladder to the place
From where she started.

Thus I, gone forth as spiders do
In spider's web a truth discerning,
Attach one silken thread to you
For my returning.

How are you? Is asked enough.
I'm fine. Is the reply.
We never go much further, we never really try.

What are you doing today? Is said
Nothing. Is replied.
Don't care whether you're working or marching for gay pride.

How's your family? He said
They're well. She answered back.
She has 7 younger siblings fighting in Iraq.

What kind of music do you like?
A bit of everything.
Folk, metal, jazz, pop, country, punk or swing?

Are you happy? I ask a lot
Yes. Is always spoken.
But honestly, the last few months have left my spirit broken.

I want you to be open, and say what's in your mind,
I want to try and help you, so you don't leave me behind,
I wish I could have fixed you, and looked you in the eyes,
But I couldn't see the truth hidden in your lies.
