Lights are dimmed
Drifting off to sleep...

Commander speaks
To 18 year olds
Who are going to war
Nothing is new
Taut from experience
Strict with bits of humor
Failure comes not from confusion
But fear of asking
Your superior

The government is like a feeding black hole; ******* everything inward into a swirling vortex until everything reaches one simple, conformed point; singularity. Instead, transmute yourself into something else, something much stronger than the tug of gravity and explore the outer reaches beyond the event horizon. Become unique and delve deeper than before.

Just in case you didn’t know
My mind is low,
You’re reading these scribbles now

This boring man, talks and talks
About government
It’s really not a godsend

This boring man gives his back
And too much slack
This country is on ******* crack

I’m done takinf pointless notes
That I won’t look at
This boring man is very fat

I want to leave and **** ****,
A lovely deed,
This boring man; monotone

Boring man is trying to be cool
He’s a ******* fool
He needs to be in a box, he’s a tool

This boring man, always boring
To my left I hear snoring
Boring man, walk out the door!
Time as of now is molasses
Minutes are hours
**** government and their powers

Democrat, republican, libertarian
You’re all wrong
Hey, pass me that ****.

Boring man cannot teach
I just wish,
I was at the sunny beach

Hell, I’d be anywhere
Not here but there
I don’t care, this guy has no flare

25 minutes, oh my lord,
I’m so bored
Not as much as the boring man

This is getting out of hand
Against government
Let’s all get up and stand!

THE Government--I heard about the Government and
I went out to find it. I said I would look closely at
it when I saw it.
Then I saw a policeman dragging a drunken man to
the callaboose. It was the Government in action.
I saw a ward alderman slip into an office one morning
and talk with a judge. Later in the day the judge
dismissed a case against a pickpocket who was a
live ward worker for the alderman. Again I saw
this was the Government, doing things.
I saw militiamen level their rifles at a crowd of work-
ingmen who were trying to get other workingmen
to stay away from a shop where there was a strike
on. Government in action.

Everywhere I saw that Government is a thing made of
men, that Government has blood and bones, it is
many mouths whispering into many ears, sending
telegrams, aiming rifles, writing orders, saying
"yes" and "no."

Government dies as the men who form it die and are laid
away in their graves and the new Government that
comes after is human, made of heartbeats of blood,
ambitions, lusts, and money running through it all,
money paid and money taken, and money covered
up and spoken of with hushed voices.
A Government is just as secret and mysterious and sensi-
tive as any human sinner carrying a load of germs,
traditions and corpuscles handed down from
fathers and mothers away back.
The lies,
Make the mask,
Make the face.
**** it fast.

I die, I cry.
They lie, I listen.

Fight the power, **** the machine.
Fight the power, **** the machine.
Fight the power, Save yourself.

Johnny is a white boy,
Born into Democracy.
Johnny is a slave boy,
But he's told that he is free.

Johnny asks his Mama,
"Why am I the same?
Why do I have to work so hard?
Given my bland name?"

Johnny's Mama slaps him,
Makes him straight and true.
Now blindly loves his government,
You are aware that you do, too.

For reasons unbeknownst,
A pleasant government image, you make.
Under the happy illusion,
That you and I are safe.
This collection could not be possible without the endowment of our corrupted capitalist pig of a government.

You preached hands off economics

Inspired by Meg Cranston's Artist for President
(http://www.uniteddivas.com/megcranston/megpresident.html)**

We assert that there is a youth culture that is different and separate from all other cultures and that our culture is governed by principles which the aged population finds peculiar or offensive.

We are tired of being labeled.
We are tired of being segmented.
We are tired of hearing old people talk about us.
We are tired of being the respondents to your 20 city questionnaire.
We are done with being ignored.

We are sick of 1980s spandex.
We are sick of your Top 40 hits on a compact disc.
We are sick of your rom-coms and big budget fantasy sci-fi sequels.
We are sick of 60 billion ad messages being hurled from satellites in outer space.
We are done with being disappointed.

We demand the right to change everything.
We demand the right to create our own words.
We demand the right to define what is cool in the morning.
We demand the right to re-define what is cool in the evening.
We are done with being told to follow.

We reserve the right to be elitist.
We reserve the right to choose our heroes.
We reserve the right to create jobs that never existed before.
We reserve the right to outsource, open-source and crowdsource everything and all.
We are done with your rigid ways.

We condemn the wars that you started.
We condemn the poverty and hunger you created.
We condemn your irresponsibility in ignoring our dying planet.
We condemn the forces of greed that keeps an honest man from climbing the income brackets.
We will fix the mess you left behind.

Jesus told the father “I brought glory to you here on earth
By doing everything you told me to do"

On a clear day,
Lighting came
Closer to unveiling
A true warrior
A nation embarking on
Notion of surrender ~
The glass is full of clarity.
Rapidly, his senses open up
His heart, and tears found a
Place in heaven.
A state of unity
Was born right in
Front of our eyes.
Dreams from another era
Seem so far away,
Yet closer than a blink of an eye
The creation of an idea
Was placed underneath his veins
Reality at the stroke of midnight,
The mirror looking back
Said, "You walked many roads
Behind an illusion,
Leading you on circle of despair
The street lights follow your
Silhouette with eyes wide open
Expecting a miracle
Right from the start
Many sit along
The river bank
Waiting for a
Breeze of fresh air
We stand alone
At the cross road
With our fist in the air,
Let it be known
Through the airways
"Yes we can."
Message in a bottle
Sent by the prophets
He who seeks
The fire of knowledge
Will walk amongst the brave
Touching the sky,
With thoughts of becoming
A fearless leader walking
Along a path of enlightenment
As a bright horizon appears
Revealing his true calling

The tears are dropping in the depths of their hearts
Unseen they fall into weary worlds apart
From the lives that they live with rifles and war
Bloodshed and horrors into their growing bones bore

And fused into their youth
is the poisoned embrace of slavery
that beats them and slays them
with no hope to be free

Decaying their heart,
a burned leprous scaled refuse
no one to save them
with nothing to gain or lose

So tonight when you tuck your daughters in to sleep
The beautiful precious children that God has given you to keep
O appointed leader, help restore to life
the children who are dead, but have not yet died

Please our great leader
Do something for them
Reach out your strong hand
and the bars of oppression bend
Sent via hand-written letter at an Invisible Children Rally to our President.

The They
Those who think they hold us to heel
When they bask in the light of our hallucination
Think control will keep at bay what’s real
By manipulating parties, media and nation.

But illusion has captured them as well.
Decades passed and truth repressed
Leave them under the deceiving spell
Of fleeting power with no regress

We know that truth has no party here
Where success finds only the greedy few
Perpetuating facades and grinding gears
Which cause such pain and crush the new

But the power lies in the peoples’ hands
Which build the pedestals from which greed falls
And demand control throughout the lands
In hopes their pride will conquer all

In our hopeless desire for personal glory
We ignore the love we owe each other
And leave the selfish to write our story
Forgetting each man is our brother

This freedom that we feel together
Manifests itself between us now
If we heed its virtuous call to weather
The trials our fate can’t disavow:

Cast off illusion from your mind!
Cast off your party: left and right
More powerful than a memory’s bind
Is present freedom’s eternal light

Destiny makes this our cause
Against loves’ division by selfish hate
So we can walk as one: free of laws
And live together without the state
The title comes from a famous book by Georges Sorel. I just finished this poem a second ago.  It is my first overtly political poem.  It can be found on my blog http://the-they.blogspot.com/

It's not right vs left, capitalism vs anti-capitalism.  It's love vs hate, freedom vs slavery.  I love you all.  Even if you're a ****-communist.

The lines have been jammed
Very difficult today
Horrific violence from the voices
That are coming out

The brave people going out to protest
Randomly shot in the street
By snipers in buildings
And planes from above

They have no choice now
But to continue
I think the Libyan people
Now have nothing to lose

They are willing to die
To get rid of a repressive brutal regime
And also you should apologise
It's fine to say you made a mistake
But he obviously doesn't believe
They made a mistake
You welcomed him in
You made him respectable
And sold him the weapons
He's using on his people.
You made a mistake
Say that you made a mistake.

- He doesn't believe that he made a mistake.
