she dwells in sorrow, every waking minute
she dwells in sorrow, every waking minute
tears scald her cheeks, there is no respite
tears scald her cheeks, there is no respite
there is no respite, she dwells in sorrow
every waking minute, tears scald her cheeks

the bow of grief wraps her, it doesn't untie
the bow of grief wraps her, it doesn't untie
she is locked in sadness, the doleful pall
she is locked in sadness, the doleful pall
she is locked in sadness, the bow of grief wraps her
the doleful pall, it doesn't untie

oh for the sun's face of glee, her heart being unburdened
oh for the sun's face of glee, her heart being unburdened
the loss and pain, to be lifted from her soul
the loss and pain, to be lifted from her soul
her heart being unburdened, the loss and pain
to be lifted from her soul, oh for the sun's face of glee

she is locked in sadness, the loss and pain
it doesn't untie, there is no respite
she dwells in sorrow, the doleful pall
tears scald her cheeks, the bow of grief wraps her
to be lifted from her soul, oh for the sun's face of glee
every waking minute, her heart being unburdened

drunken stupor
in a sea of turmoil
the soul wrenched
to the point of spoil

ever looking for the answers
in a dram or two
yet none come his world
steeped by the brew

to rise above
the bottle's neck
to be clean
not a train wreck

where to seek refuge
a port beyond the grog's hell
to be again
of mind and soul well

the plimsoll line
that equalizing point
to recover life's direction
without the *****'s anoint

a sea of height
the beating down of alcohol's grip
to make fast
the rudderless ship

man hath placed
his ruinous hand
upon the planet's
finest attributes
no service to the
natural world
hath he imparted

he cuts down copious trees
in the Sarawak rainforests
he digs holes in the ground
all around the Gunnedah shire
he pollutes the atmosphere
over the Guangzhou province of China
he spills oil on the pristine coral reefs
in the Gulf of Mexico
and the list of his misdeeds
goes on and on...

man shall pay for the ruin
he hath wrought upon the planet
his unfeeling hand
touches every corner of the globe
a day of reckoning
isn't far away
all the beauteous assets
of our planet
shall be blown away

man is yet to realize
that he needs to preserve
the planet
for future generations
that are yet to come...

there is no other planet
for humanity to live on
and where will man go
when his hand hath ruined
the Earth's magnificent show

a message
sent out to all and sundry
a clarion call
reverberates around the planet
a mega phone
hear the Earth's alerting cry

man's hand
touches the planet
without a properly
conceived thought...

the tzars are holding court
at a particular place
and they love to be in possession
of this most important space

quite a few are bowing down
to these narcissists most grand
they've become adept at gaining
a higher perch in the stand

no doubt the blue bloods
can sway those who wish to ascend
they are at this self serving practice
long after the day is at end

the tzars egos must be fed
it sustains them so perfectly
by the ones who wish to
obtain a top position so ardently

Her pink bud did enrapture his gaze
The everything about her did amaze
Within him she did wake robust ardency
Nothing quelled the resolve of his desire
The sight of her instigated a fire
To be in steamy rapport twas his wish
How he hungered to taste of her dish
Captivating twas the rose's potency
Her comeliness did verily pleasure
His every thought taken by her treasure
Night came that time to imagine and dream
Whereupon his being could meld with her
Neath the lunar spell his mind did meander
Twining in her petiole's sultry stream
A picture of a Pink Rose prompted this write...

this morning
the spammer is at it again
he/she enjoys
a spamming refrain

the spamming craze
has taken hold all over the place
it would seem that the spammer
wishes to reside in this space

the spammer will not be
denied a spamming locality
that is why he/she
has set up a freehold spamming territory

the spammer has become
fond of the decor around here
so he/she will keep
dropping off his/hers spamming gear

over the last 24 hours
a spammer has spammed
his/hers spamming
belongs in spammer land

somewhere on the internet
he/she was directed
to several poetry sites
it is apparent that the director's pointer
has caused the blight

the procession of spamming
at Hello Poetry
has streamed in with impunity
there hasn't been a frisking marshal
standing at the gate's entry

as a consequence the spammer
is doing what he/she wants to do at will
and we've been held hostage
to their permeating skills

a heavy cape of mist
hung over the rolling hills
the air twas replete
with the frostiness of winter's chills

all of the countryside
wrapped in a trembling shiver
even the rabbits and foxes
did repeatedly quiver

the setting in of the season
of protracted cold
freezing paws did clutch
with an uncharitable hold

all portions of the landscape
dead of state
the naked boughs of the trees
hung their heads in lowly gait

into a morass of tundra
which wasn't pleasantly nice
all would lay encased
in a gelid block of ice

a frozen solid mass
prevailed for a long spell
the New England region
devoid of the warming summer's knell

GitacharYa VedaLa
It was past 10 pm
Indian Standard Time
And the score was
Two O Five

Klusener was the launcher
Donald was the Duck

Hansie had the fancy
That he will lift the cup
Seconds ticking
One, two, three, four, five…

Damien Fleming’s the bowler
And he’s known as a troller
Windies was the victim
Eight years ago

Steve Waugh!
The man who made Gibbs drop the cup
Stood there
Like a commander
Klusener like a slaughterer

Yorker’s the marker
To stop the nine runs needed
From the Klusener blade

NOW THE LAST OVER
ONE went for a four
TWO went for a four
Tensions flared up
We are on the proverbial Edge-of-the-seat

Steve stood there
No expression on his face
Hansie's in the pavilion
Like a warrior king

THE THIRD BALL
Damien's running like he do
Yes, bang on target
Klusener's couldn't get it off
Like the way in his earlier knocks off

One run needed in three

Just a recap again

Final over
last pair together
nine to get in six *****
player of the tournament on strike
Successive fours from Lance Klusener
and it was one from four *****

Then came the comedy
for South Africa uniquely in the game's annals
the tragedy of a tie.

Moments before it
Steve Waugh was
As cold as an Iceberg
To the Titanic of South Africa

time has come for dear Hillary
to exit the political stage
her past performances
haven't been well scripted or sage

Americans won't mind at all
if she stays at home with philandering Bill
so she can keep his ever wandering eye
nice and still

Washington needs a true
star contender for a Prez
Hillary is too old to be wearing
the chief's influential fez

most unsuccessful was
her candidature in 2008
Democrats didn't want her
as their first mate

cameo appearances seem to be
more fitting for Hillary
so the American media can give her
a jolly good pillory

the oval office needs no more
corruption lying or deceit
obviating Hillary from the scene
shall be ever so neat
