The term 'stranger' could potentially mean two different things.
It could mean someone I used to be close to, now just another person you see on twitter or facebook every now and then.

Or it could be the fairy tale stranger.
The mysterious one you see in public, the one you want to talk to, but you're too shy to say a measly hi to.
That nice looking girl or enticing boy you see walking in the opposite direction as you.

What would happen if that person you have never seen in your life, talked to you?

Dear stranger,

If you were to see me, walking through the mall or down the road, and you caught my eye, What would pass through your mind? If you caught my eye, I will almost definitely find something about you that will draw me to you, even though you won't hear me say a word.
I will find something about you, take a split second to analyze what I just saw and quite possibly think about it, maybe for the rest of my day.
Say you're a boy.
If I were to see you and be completely enticed by you, I might hope to see you again that day so I could pluck up the courage to smile at you this time around. What if my smile made you stop and say hi? What if we spent the rest of the day talking, not remembering what we were doing before the time we met.
What if we exchanged phone numbers and stayed in touch? We could turn out to be really good friends, hanging out, talking, laughing.
What if, we kept a friendship for year, or even longer.
What if one night when we stayed up together talking about the things we already knew about each other, talking about our deepest secrets or desires.
What if on that night we fell in love?
What if we realized the other was everything we needed and more.
But what if we did fall in love? What if both of us ended up heartbroken?
What if we never fell in love?
What if we were the best of friends, and we grew up together, protecting each other until we found people who would take care of us for the remainder of our lives?
But what if, we never stopped and said hi? Never knowing what could possibly happen.
Maybe you said hi and we talked for a few weeks. You still would've made an impact on my life.
I think about every person who has every made me second guess myself, and you could be one of those people who cross my mind years later of not talking.
I could feel like you possibly hated me and still think about the times we talked and laugh and I could quite possibly miss them.

So, Dear Stranger.
I encourage you, talk to me. Because, we may have nothing to lose, or something to gain.

Why is it the ones you love most
Hurt you the worst
They know just what to say
Or even what look to give

You never see it coming
You'd think by now you'd know
See the signs ahead of time
And just turn around and go

Every time blindsided
It tears a piece of heart
Every time is next time
You've said that from the start

If you leave you're the ****
If you stay it's so much work
Why can't it just change

melodie foley
when your first "boyfriend" breaks up with you
put down the can of frosting
forget the melodramatics
don't buy the jesse mccartney ringtone
skip to the part where you make out with your best friends neighbor
trust me
when your next boyfriend cheats on you
put down the razor
where did you even learn that?
don't take him back
it doesn't matter that "you gave him everything"
you will have given everyone after him everything as well
When your first high school boy doesn't love you back
move on
or you will forever be the crazy girl
he may be charming and have a mesmerizing smile
but you will do dispiciple things along the way to have him
those stolen moments
will not be worth the awkward moment(s) with his girlfriend(s)
When your second high school boy doesn't love you back either
wait it out
it will happen,
on multiple occasions
but know when to move on
because waiting gets old
When you fall for your **** buddy
don't decide to make that your "slutty year"
because one year is a long time in high school
hide away in your dark room
watch charlie st. cloud on repeat
when your friends try to cheer you up-let them
the feelings will go away, but he will not
so know when to say no
but you can say yes, too
however, don't abandon real people for fake intimacy
When you fall for your friend
don't ******* tell anyone
you know it will never happen, ever
stop trying
for the love of God, stop trying
And When you think you've found what you've been looking for
turn around
go back up north
it was all a trap

Here's to lost memories,

Whispers over the phone,
The boy that saved my life.

Melodies from the heart,
The boy with a knife.

A summer to remember,
The boy that meowed.

Singing in the car,
The boy that never frowned.

Sleepless nights,
The girl I grew up with.

Ghost hunting,
The boy who believed in myths.

Telling me not to hide,
The boy that texted dad.

Secret messages of love,
The boy I never had.

Here's to lost memories...

And the friends that became enemies.

I've added 'getting over you'
to my long list
of inevitable failures
and of all the things
I couldn't do
(like play basketball
or drive a car),
my inability
to not-love you
still haunts me
when I've forgiven
all
the rest.

I didn't find you most beautiful
after all those hours you spent
on your makeup
or shaping your lovely hair
into its tiny strands.
or the outfits you wore
that hugged your frame
so eager to catch a hungry eye
I found you most beautiful
after the makeup
was smeared or washed away
your hair a mess from the long night
and your outfits nothing but balled up fabric
strewn across the room
and all those barriers you put up
for others
came crashing down
under the weight of your smile
thats when you were the most beautiful thing
I have ever seen.
