As a poet
My words matter more than I do
I'd gladly die
So that they could live forever

We can see the art for what it is
What
It
Is
All these things we write
              Are merely cries for help
There
      Is
   Someone
We want to have hear us

                                                                                   Who
                                                                                 Doesn't
And we can look for
And never find
We can find a meaning
That isn't                                                                Really
There
And this blind alliteration
These rhymes
This metaphor
Merely all devices
To show how much we                                       Care
Only hope
One soul can love enough
For all of those who don't
                             Or
A lost soul
Can
       Finally
                   Find
                           It's
Way
                                 Home

I want my poetry to feel to you as such
That I have ripped out your heart
                                and on it I stomped
Broke it into
         a thousand  p     e
                                 i   c  s
                                   e

Placed back in your hands while you stood
on knees shaking

Making you  f
                         a
                            l
                              l

 onto the ground
Begging God for lost love while
your weeps and screams

A     B    O    U   N   D

This may be very vain of me to say
If my poetry did not make you feel that way

*then I am no poet today
Wrote this one day after trying to explain why I write. It's not always this way, but misery does love company..don't get me wrong, I love to write and I love the relief it gives to just get it out. Took me a long time to want to share this one.

My next poem
Will be a masterpiece
Enough to please the mind
And the soul
The next poem
That I set down in concrete
To last throughout the ages
Will last throughout the ages

It will speak
Not only to your heart
But to your soul
To every better part of you
To your reality
To your dreams
Speaking loud above the muddle
The average trying to be heard

But that's my next poem
Not this one
I'm still only building to
This is only practice

My next poem
So utterly true and profound
It will change the world
Will change your world
**** anyone who does not understand. You are not a poet. Goodbye

We are but lovers of words
Delving deep into our souls
Trying hard to convey what lies in our hearts with simple paper and pen
Grabbing our dictionaries our thesaurus'
Wanting to use the most profound of words
Wanting to have our readers, long after the read is done, remembering
How this one, just this one made them feel
Hoping to have created the most epic of writes
All while still staying humble and feeling blessed if it only reaches one
We create pictures of love, toil, strife, longing, heartache, masterpieces of written art
We are poets.....
Keep writing my poets....
