sip from the cup overflowing
generosity is eternal

curtains can be open or pulled across a window
and eyes are windows in the main
there are cellars deep with windows

the water is muddied
rain still falls

drink deep
from the deepest well

when the water subsides
silt will nourish the land

more than you know,
spill it out, poetry

throw away news streams while we paddle in the shallows
off set our little efforts with the blame game
while we preen and worry over the size of our slice of pie
forgetting we cannot get anymore in our mouths
and our bellies are oh so sore and expanding, fast ,
too fast for those children to sew together our new out size pants

The waves dancing on the shore
The seashells washing up on the sand
It all paints a picture of home
The boats far out to sea
Against a backdrop of citrus skies
It all paints a picture of my home
The seagulls crying out to each other
Beacons standing strong and tall
On rocky cliffs and reefs
It all paints a picture of my beautiful home
Holding hands on the cliffs
Overlooking the sunsets by the sea
This all paints a picture of my home
The pirates here of long ago
Searching for hidden treasure
Things forgotten under the sea
Sunken battleships, years of rot
It’s all a picture of home to me
The footprints in the sand
From where I take my morning walks
Barefoot, my skin against the gritty sand
This is all a painting of my home
The sandcastles of destroyed wishes
Hopes, dreams, and ambitions
Torn asunder by angry waves
It is still a painting of my home
Hibiscus crowns and lovers
Happy children dancing in the waves
Smiling, as they build their goals
Yes, this is a painting of my home
I’m lost across the endless water
Floating in a canvas of inky blue sky
Please, show me a picture of my home
Still mourning in the foam and froth
Praying for a new dawn tomorrow
Please, show me a painting of my home
I’m drowning in these waves
My ship is ready to be lost at sea
The waves are climbing higher
I look for one spark of light
To guide me—show me the way
Please, paint me a picture of home
But I cannot see in the wind and rain
The stinging of salt upon my face
No familiar light from the beacon
So I keep on praying faithfully
Please, paint me a picture of my home

there is a Violin playing and feet tapping
all the way over the waters
America is awaking their Orchestra, s
and the sound carries clear across the ocean

the boats out in the bay sit
the glassy mirror depth
red boats  silver pond
so gentle so surreal

Over a cup of hot tea
The poet's words onto paper fly
Weaving skillful poetry

His poems I do so enjoy
His words, they never die
Over a cup of hot tea

Sometimes he sings merrily
Other times his finger over piano keys fly
Weaving skillful poetry

His happiness goes on eternally
Yet other times I see him cry
Over a cup of hot tea

Once I saw him by the sea
Where thoughts did like seagulls fly
Weaving skillful poetry

Enjoying the silence peacefully
With a blissful sigh
Over a cup of tea
Weaving skillful poetry

Castles of sand
Torn asunder
By fierce foamy waves
Hidden footprints
Seaweed breezes
Breath of salt
Lullaby of waves
Blue of sky
Tall, towering palm trees
Listen to the seashell's song
Echoes of waves
Bright yellow sun
I can feel it
Bathing me in warmth
Cry of seagulls
Living on rocky coasts
Where some lighthouse stands
Shedding light upon angry waters
On nights when no moon shines
Giving light to all
It's been a long day at sea

I soak up beauty like the way some soak in a bath
content for it to be a fact of my lounging about
the medicinal healing of bones and muscle and
the soothing of the mind and spiritual release
I can soak all year without changing the waters
that is done for me constantly do I feel guilty
No I have no need of it for contemplation
demands my participation to take all reasonable
steps and this sitting wasting time with God
is one of the most powerful forms of prayer known
