dude
war, war, war, war
a taste of blood
a whiff of cash
left em hooked
they need more

war, war, war, war
everyone waves a flag
until the theater’s
outside your front door

actors, red and blue ties
behind doors, clink glasses
blood sacrifices leave
rubble, dirt, dust, ashes

I stumbled upon it—
this ruin, veiled in ivy,
its ribs of stone strangled
by nature’s lace.

A withered door hangs
on one iron thread—
the last breath of smiths
dressed in oxide.

Fractured silence beckons
childish will to explore.
Danger wrapped in lichen,
blight decays the frame.

Dense fog dulls the raven’s
black wings—set the tone.
Moss-laden windows,
sinew stripped from bone.

To be continued....

Rounded by salt and
Water rolling from
Tide to tide

Inviolate cipher of
All time
Fallen from molten skies

At the beginning

Holding all
Within your elliptical
Mystical mound

I often wonder if you actually exist,
are you real or simply a matrix glitch.
A fragment in my data stream,
a figment of some creative theme. Across the worlds beyond the seas,  the matrix offers all of these possibilities..
If you’re real how can it be proven?    Perhaps my imagination conjured what you’re doing,
where you are, where you’ve been,   I could have easily created you way down within..
So please let me know for sure,
that there’s more than AI’s out there..

Distrust
Is like a
Drug
A dopamine-like
Strike
But one
That I dislike
Overshadowing
Taking up too much
Possibilities for closeness
Get decreased by its touch

Sadly.
Though I won't give up
Rewriting the stars,
genes and some old scars.
Old patterns showing themselves. Poems are a great way to increase awareness.

Sandcastles
On the seashore,
Exquisite view
Promising more —

But the waves always return,
Smashing dreams, I swore
I’d protect,
No chore —

How do I build a moat
around my hopes and dreams
Galore!

In this world,
We live but a corseted
Life,

But, in You,
We live full and
Free --

I would like nothing more
Than to watch you grow old
Watch as your story
Before the world unfolds

See the young man
You are bound to become
But alas, I myself
Am not all that young

I’ll still gladly take
All that I can get
Enjoying every moment
That we both have left

Treasuring the time
With your hand in mine
While we do our very best
To keep the memories alive

And that you would love nothing more
Than to be with me as I grow old
Sharing in the story
As we both watch it unfold
We just had our first grandchild 7 months ago and while both my wife and I are overjoyed, I can’t help but think I’m 68 and may not be around (though no one knows the day) long enough to see him grow into adulthood, I will enjoy every minute of the memories we’ll be making ❤️
