Here I'm I chained to this rock
I wait for the tide to change and come in
I have been sentenced to death
for a crime, I did not commit

I did not tell them who the murderer was
yet they did not listen to my innocents
I was not an islander
just a stranger to them you see

Judged a judgment unfair
now this is my predicament
chained to a rock
waiting for the tide to come in

Suddenly I hear splashing from behind me
from around the rock comes the real killer
she lays flowers on my lap
then thanks me for saving her

If I could move my arms manacled
I would throttle her
she is who killed her husband
I witnessed her doing it you see

She moves to kiss me
just a bit closer, please
as she does her lips touch my cheek
I turn and with teeth rip at her slender throat

She holds her neck as blood starts to gush
she staggers back in shock
then falls by my feet
the water turns red

Soon the tide will have me
now I can be called a murderer
chained to this rock
soon I too will die

Such numbing are you
how you take my breath away
you have poisoned me
in death soon I try to delay

Dear conium maculatum
the wonder killer of a patient age
you run through my body
liken to the black plague

You are a death sentence
a flora most abundant
if only you were sage
I could live a longer age

In ancient Greece, you were a death sentence
in a mild barbaric way
oh lady hemlock
I rest my head and do drift away

This is the place I watched my master
in vineyards green and verdant
he sung verses and rhymes
made me sing as if they were mine

I don't mimic him
for I was him
so close I did touch him
in the same way, he touched me

We all knew that this would not last
as they arrested him and the dye was cast
we would never have him back
so I became his follower in black

I decided with a few of the faithful
to pay homage to his art
and for that, I try my best to write
and forever follow that start

Oh sweet songs and vicious tones
as the world groans and moans
we stand proud and shout
crucifixion without a doubt

In the face of adversity
trying to get back my dignity
building up
and trying to not run down
never will I again wear a frown

May the winds of relentless fury
scar my face trying not to let me be
but I have been on these grounds before
oh have I
in the face of adversity

Been broken and rearranged
as evil creatures play their games
so damaged I have been
but with pure heart and soul
they will not win

When he was a child
his favorite place was the library
nearly every day he did get more books out
he had read most of the books for children section
and at 12 he started on the adult library

From great tales to informative non-fiction
reading books became an addiction
never played with the kids outside
he would rather have a book by his side

He loved the classics
from poetry to sci-fi
he lived in a fantasy world
and music did consume his mind

Even now he sleeps very little
when he closes his eyes
he does listen to audiobooks
every day and night
to his minds delight

Yes he is a book bothered poet
and now he does know it
still wanting more knowledge
his mind is a university and high collage

Do you write like a ****** ******
do you write and try not to stutter
does writing seem like a breeze
have you sold your soul to poetry

Have words become an obsession
can you never get them out of your head
have you sold your soul to poetry
I did and now I am the living dead

I will never forget her
sweet little old Mary
she was an Irish hybrid
always walking about with her little dog

In the early mornings when I walked my dog
I would always see her with hers
in the cold crisp air
we would stand and chat

My dog was a little dog too
my ***** and her dog hit it off
they would play chase the tail
and be wagging away

Mary died four years ago now
her dog was given to her daughter
I know both are in good care
one with God and the other a new home to wear
