Not all was what it seemed
Those dreams were never real
The night lights shone
Then faded like the moon.

City streets were crowded
People busy with there lives
All seemed normal to the eye
Who could see behind the scene.

1938 crowded parks and beaches full
Ice cream stands and punch and Judy men
Normality was all that children knew
Family's made plans unaware of what lay ahead.

Summer days flowers displayed there colours
Work for dad.and children going to school
Christmas time and snow covering the ground
Another festive time was there with celebrations.

The summer time of 39 stormy days ahead
Young boys 18 plus answered to the country's call
Not realising adventure was never there at all
They lied about their age .in search of that adventure.

So six long years they fought and died
The survivers came home with open eyes
Seeing the world for what it was there youth denied.
The storm now over they now faced the calm.

Time to move on now the war days had gone
They found work and learned a trade
Those night lights shone once more
And the city streets filled with happy times again.

1945 the years move on the past now history
It was a time to rebuild a future of hope
And to find the will to carry on
Back too the beeches sands and the ice cream man.
I saw a documentary showing how it was just before
The second world war .People seemed to live normal lives
Holliday's on the beech enjoying city life carrying on life as normal
Unaware how things could change so fast.
At the end of the road lies a haven of peace
A place to rest .A sanctuary
Hoping one day this war will cease
With a hope and possibilities.

No more sound of bombs and guns
And that dreadful feeling of fear
The saddened times will be over and done
As the end of this nightmare draws near.

The future is looking hopeful
A new horizon it lies ahead
But somehow things look doughtful
With all the blood that's been shed.

There are tents food and clothing
Waiting at the end end of the line
But it's the fear of the unknowing
That is disterbing  to the mind.

Then it's the same the whole world over
When a calamity it does strike
Nations get stronger and bolder
So people can sleep at night.

Now listen to what they are saying
To the the plight of the refugee
Keep on and carry on hoping
And one day you will be free.
A sad reality that many displaced people
Are faced with.
The day  has now gone here is the night
It's twelve o'clock all lights gone out
Not a single soul no one insight
We look out the window no one about.

Eyes are weary we are fighting sleep
Time to clime up that wooden hill
Waiting for us is the bed and sheets
Tired and drowsy sleep we will.

The evenings are colder
The frost here again
But we are much older
And our health's not the same

So as we head to that slumber land
And we dream our cares away
We pull up the blankets with our hands
And say goodnight to the day.
These cold nights a nice warm bed is welcoming.
She played in a horror on TV
It was full of blood and gore
The actress stared in another film
The kind you will adore
She was there in many movies
And some they were extreme
But this one it was different
Called the sweet romantic dream.
After watching this actress playing
In two different styles of act
In playing 2 different parts
Although I am not an advecate
For people watching horror movies.
You have found yourself a Genius
There is nothing he can't do
He could lose himself inside his room
And would write a book or two.

You have found yourself a Genius
A man of high esteem
He can make a lot of money
And your life would be like a dream.

You have found yourself a Genius
In a mansion he abides
With a tennis court and swimming pool
And a rolls Royce parked outside.

You have found yourself a Genius
Who has an amazing mind
He will take you to fancy restaurants
And treat you to the finest wine.

You have found yourself a Genius
Owning property's galore
He even owns his private jet
Along with so much more.

Yes you have found yourself a Genius
There is nothing he can't do
But when it came to make you happy
It just never worked for you.
A light hearted poem inspired by the Beatles song Money can't by me love
On this lovely September morn
It's time for congratulations
Into this world a child is born
Lets raise a glass in celebration.

He starts his world with lulabbys
Parents are there with a guiding hand
To help to see that he gets by
Untill on his own he can make a stand.

But that is many years away
No need to think so far ahead
All that matters is this lovely day
As mother is resting in her bed.

But tomorrow will be another day
With his first steps on life's road
A world that that will be full of play
The future no one knows.

So let's take in this special time
Where all the family gather round
Mother and newborn are doing fine
She smiles when hearing his very first sound.
My wife's wife best friends daughter in law gave
Birth to a baby boy September 20th .she asked me to write a poem
So I wrote this poem .I hope you like it.
Why do we laugh and why do we cry
Please tell me why
Why are we kind and angry at times
Please tell me why.
Why are we happy and why are we sad
Please tell me why.
Why do we love and why do we hate
Please tell me why.
Why is there faith and why is there none
Please tell me why.
Why do we live and why do we die
Can you please tell me why.
If there are no answers to the Questions I ask
Please tell me why.
What is the meaning of life
Why are we here.
The Questions go on.
