Summer days and heatwaves
Sweat pouring down our skin
Working hard no time to rest
From the time the day begins.

Bailing hay without a shade
Not a single cloud insight
Gathering all the barely corn
We work until the night.

we have a little hideaway
A place down in the vale
Its where we drink some scrumpy
Along with beer and ale.

We while away  an hour or more
Depending on how we feel
We rest and take it easy
No sound from the tractors wheel.

Now tomorrow is another day
Our work load it will keep
We may be striming hedge grows
Or we may be shearing sheep.

But we really are not bothered
We've been farmers far too long
We carry out our dutys
And sometimes with a song.

Our lives are hard but simple
We are living the country life
Away from the city and the fumes
From cars and such alike.

You see we have this hideaway
A little place down in the vale
So come along and join us
At the end of a farmers day
Feeling the affects of the British heatwave
Made me feel just how  it must  be for the farmers with all the heat.
The chains have now been broken
From this place of no return
Your voice still echoes to this day
In the corridoors of our minds ,
Destiny now stands in wait
You took away our joy
But now the tide has turned
from your cold world now outside.
Your words they have faded
Along with your demands
Now you have gone the pain will heal ,
Those grusome cells they  are open
We will leave those days behind
You have no hold of  the fears
You created deep inside ,
Your doors have closed for the last time
Freedom is there and we move on
Far away from your prison bars.
That feeling of being set free from oppression
In its many forms .
Seagulls and blackbirds hover the sky
Bright coloured flowers they multiply
The city such a depressing sight
With factories cars and traffic lights.

People are working to earn their pay
They save for a break a nice holiday
Maybe a cruise to a tropical land
Or just to the beach with sea and sand.

We are not made to take in the fumes
From moterways were the traffic looms
We belong with nature and fields of green
With fountains trickling from mountain streams.

We look out at our garden what do we see
Bright cherry blossom and sweet honeybees
All these things bring a smile on one's face
Away from running in this busy rat race.

Time it has come to take one's ease
Breath in the air and feel the breeze
No need to rush there's no were to go
Just look at the colours inside your rainbow.
Living life in the slow lane these days. I would recommend it
After fifty years in the building trade now enjoying retirement.
He is there but nobody sees him
He speaks but no one can hear
He lives his life in confinement
And no one ever comes near.
To watch him He looks rather lonely
He is lost that is perfectly clear.
Once a child in the arms of his mother
And his father would always be near.
But parants don't last forever
And soon they are no longer here
Now there  is nobody out there
To chase away all of his fears.
He walks to his flat he has no one
Loneliness his only friend
Is this what he really lives for
With nothing to show at the end.
Let's start from the very beginning
It happens in this day and age
Take note of this lonely stranger
Invisible in so many ways.
Watched a documentary a couple of years ago about the amount
Of people who live on their own it was amassing. Although this poem
Is a true case of a man who really was let down by the people around
Him saddly he was like being invisible  in the eyes of the world.
He just didn't fit in with others .
Long gone those false illusions
On painted canvas
With all those faded colours
It all looked good to the eye
In its own Deceaving  way
With those subtle shades.

Now another day has dawned
With those brand new hopes
Fresh canvas with easel waits
With paint and truere colours
Standing together all in line
Destination heart and mind.

The brush will go with the flow
Just like a passing stream
The blue sky looks down
And reflects its crystal light
Fountains of water turn to wine
Nirvana now awaits this time.
Nirvana means a place of perfect peace and happiness amongst other things that bring joy.looking back at some of my sixtys photographs
Me and my pals thought we found that place In the form of living it up.
50 years on we see it was just an illusion. These days that perfect place of happiness comes in diffarant forms.in my case Friday night at the village tavern
Here is were it all begins
Now a life time to unfold
A future lies deep within
And stories will be told.

Your road it will be rocky
You will face those stormy seas
There'll be times you will be happy
And times down on your knees.

You will find that life's a journey
You'll get lost along the way
But your not alone there's many
Who get back on track again.

So put on that suit of armour
It's a dangerous world out there
Beware of all the trappings
Their are pitfalls everywhere.

Don't look back you have a future
And hope is what you need
Your life will be your teacher
And lessons will be learned indeed.

You will find that new horrizon
It is there behind the door
That door will surely widen
And the world it will be yours.
I think you all will agree that life is teacher and we all have
Made mistakes.some of us more than others.
Old movie stars have come and gone
Those films were there for everyone
Despite the passing of those times
Those talking pictures will always shine.

Those talking pictures have all come back
With ghosts of film stars from the past
They are still alive within our minds
Those talking pictures we rewind.

When looking at those bye gone days
Those talking pictures will always stay
The golden oldies that we all can see.
Are there and they will always be.

Those talking pictures stand the test of time
Deep within our hearts and minds
Those movie stars have come and gone
But those talking pictures will still live.
Just a simple little poem.I love the golden oldie movies
I watch alot of them.
