Let life falter and drink tonight,
We'll drink until the wee hours night,
Pretend that time has stopped at last,
Consume the moment and let it past.

Bring round the brandy and lovely meats,
Let's kiss each other and share the treats,
No man or woman will ever celebrate,
We'll drink and drink until much too late.

Then fall about sweet night together,
Our heads will spin, so light as feather,
Pass all the bourbon around the table,
Tonight is not for the sane and able.

Do lovely things to one another,
Here comes a girl with one my brother,
The lights will dim until darkness sinks,
Then pass the bottle and one more drink.

Won't be the one to curtail the night,
Our bodies laying in such total fright,
Our spinning heads, our minds devoured,
It is the time for the witching hour.
Sword of death come follow those,
Who wake each day to spread their sorrow,
Remove their shields of hate and torment,
Send them headlong  to their eternal graves.

Ravens of darkness spilling such horror,
Quarantine them in closets of darkness,
Separate their empty souls from amongst us,
Placing them deep within the fiery pit.

Generals of shiny brass and worn-torn ribbons,
Who march their plans of death and destruction,
Their forward motion with their bombs and their guns,
Devastate the landscape with chemicals and deadly toys.

Menacing managers of total war and no coalition,
Stop them dead in their  promise to dismantle humanity,
Purge their carcasses from the fields and emptied hearts,
While denying them their desire to **** and destroy.

Lonely victims screaming with hardened tears and misery,
Let them stand strong against the menacing monsters here,
Hold up their hope to stop the onslaught now upon us,
While the sun comes home to shin once more upon our world.
If life were perfect,
I'd live my dreams,
I'd smile and laugh,
Do silly things.

Each moment here,
I'd live my fantasies,
My friends would love,
Me and most anything.

I know for certain,
What the day would bring,
Each waking moment,
My soul would sing.

When problems came,
I'd brush them aside,
I'd stand in the open,
And never hide.

My bank account,
So full of cash,
My apartment new,
And my car a dream.

My girlfriends who,
Would call my house,
Would wait and wait,
For me to announce.

That everything is right,
As rain, and I would never,
Never, ever, ever complain.

Then bright one morning,
The doctor nearby came,
To tell me I had some,
Disease, how insane.

They called it cancer,
I called it so very lame,
And played my game,
Each day the same.

But, then the moment,
So harsh but true,
Told me the cancer,
Was through me, too.

So, now my laughter,
It is still so loud, insane,
Even though I'm standing,
Outside in the rain.
Someone said I died tonight,
Ceasing life and releasing soul,
Like a rumor, it spread like fire,
This dying of someone as told.

Wasn't like it was meant to be,
This silly man's dying all alone,
But time plays tricks on certainty,
To let us think we outsmart time.

But time knows better in this way,
Snatching moments in histories,
Plastering lives on a grander scale,
Laughing last when time decides.

Wasn't sad, nor crying was done,
No time to take an eternal inventory,
Just rapid racing towards nevermore,
A deafening quiet so now begins.

Like standing in the darkest room,
When silence surrounds bewilderment,
No sight or sound to announce the dying,
Just endless dying in this endless time.

Someone so rumored I died tonight,
And right they were to speak like fools,
This destiny that only death can bring,
Beyond their grasp and understanding.
Let live and  lift my heart and soul,
Drowning in this fire of minor hope,
Never knowing when to stop or cry,
My endless search forever ever joy.

Crumbling heart of harden woe,
Beating with pretending pain,
Facing much in drifting wonder,
Keeping pace with life lived love.

Sure the embers burn so bright,
In my heading pace beginning,
Yet, I hold my heart in hand,
Giving much, but little surrender.

Knowing only those who try,
Ever living in a present mind,
Never ever releasing the dragon,
That silent burns in beating souls.

Up I go and upward ascending,
Looking where love dares to go,
Hoping some sweet, haunting lover,
Will hold my heart and head in hand.
Chased the moon in late night bliss,
But couldn't count the numerous stars,
Caught the planets swirling madly,
Deep within my prodigious mind.

Grabbed  a rope to lasso the world,
Tied it tightly in my cosmic fashion,
Pulled and pulled until I passed out,
Lying, lingering on the dampened Earth.

Lights of rings round glowing moonlight,
Cool air dancing in tree branches so high,
Call of the wild from a desperate coyote,
Dogs came running to escape demise.

Stretched my arms so protecting to heaven,
Saw the night dance play out it's routine,
Breathed the night air so sweet as a nectar,
Wandered aimlessly till the wee hours arrived.

All the splendor and all the beautiful creation,
Playing slowly like a movie of days gone by,
Heightened sounds like an orchestra playing,
Feel how the night now is laughing aloud.
The day the clouds fell down,
The moon was hurled to Earth,
The stars dropped for lack of space,
The ground shook with volcanic fervor.

This thing called time ceased to whirl,
A darkness fell all across the land,
The sun, once bright, now had a dark tint,
We stood, held hands and cried ****** tears.

Atmospheric storms raced onwards,
Showering us all with the heaviest rains,
We shivered in the dampness, very few,
Were left the day the clouds fell down.

Indignant hearts cried out to heaven,
We waved our fists and cursed in vain,
The little children stood close besides us,
How dare the world collapse this day.

We took a world and destroyed its beauty,
So kings and queens now hid in shadows,
To think that nature had nothing to say,
How could the calamity now shout its name?

This lonely day the clouds fell down,
We thought that time would ever present be,
Yet, in our minds and hearts so shattered,
We still screamed and shook our fists at God.
