I can't stand to see
this subpar standard of sickness.
They shout get down out over the halls filled with lights
and I let go free of my highness.

Your sweat is candy cane
carcinogen cancer kissable sweet.
Its all the lines, and caps, and tabs and snaps we've done
they all go to get me on my feet.

Words waddle out wet
winding washed up wishes back to life.
My mind holds confused conference calls and buzzed board meetings
about what to do with my one night wife.

Hotel havens harken us and
hazardous inhaleables heighten habitions.
We lay down warm and panting after an exaggerated night of furious dancing
to practice on our yet unnamed positions.

I wake wicked wasted
wondering where the woman went.
Her clothes lay scattered, make up splattered, then I hear her in the bathroom chatter
that her night had been well spent.

Only in silence
Do I hear my head's voices.
*Go ahead, end it.
I'm not feeling regret or bitterness
I just wish you'd stop embarrassing yourself.

And if this will only make you sad, for God's sake do not read it.
I miss the way I thought of you before I really knew you.
I miss the way I perceived you to be.
As this beautiful, mysterious, intelligent thing.
I don't miss how you turned out to be.
How you were all along.

And if this is making you sad, I beseech thee; do not continue.
I miss the way your hair smelled in my mind, before I ever smelled it.
I miss the way I imagined your hands touching.
The soft elegant strokes would run across my back and neck.
I don't miss how they turned out to feel,
only how they felt before you ever stroked my skin.

And if this will only make you angry, avert your eyes, please.
Because I do not need you.
Least of all angry.
I need to do this though.
I need to put these words out there.
Just as I did before I met you.
Just as I did while I had you.
Just as I do now that I lost you.
The memory hits me, like a brutal hand
I remember the seething voice of demand
That night the sky brushed with perfect shade
Grateful to the crowd I began to fade
I sunk deeper and deeper keep my head held low
All of a sudden I was  face to face with my foe
Too shocked to speak too stubborn to show fear
A response to my distaste they wiped a blind tear
There was nowhere to run to not a place to hide
Trouble had me in its trap I was prisoner to its side
Some people see trouble as a little monster I for some odd reason picture it as a bad person at a masquerade ball if that didn't come across sorry because I wanted it to ........I
Hope this makes sense........ Ah who care it rhymes...right??

I have shark teeth.
I use them to bite into myself when the night is too dark and I need that extra splash of red.
I chomp
and when I smile
it scares you.
I'm a mere mortal,
a man looking for love.
And you are a goddess,
sent down from above.

I am the joker,
the jester, the fool.
Just some heartache,
trying to play it cool.

I am nobody,
no one, nothing.
Just another broken heart,
always running.

I am a peasant,
and you are a queen.
I beg for your love,
yet, I go unseen.

I wander and wait,
for the day you come by,
and take my hand,
ending my crusade,
for your love, which I desire.

we never finished writing our duet.
i don't mean that figuratively.
we were writing a duet
and we never finished it.

we had our two separate melodies strung
the lyrics were quaint but true

but we could never seem to piece them together.

you couldn't quite harmonize pleasantly
our voices didn't blend nicely

maybe i could have taken it as a sign.

we just didn't take enough time
didn't have enough patience

i've always been more of a soloist myself.

we never finished writing our duet.
it doesn't get more poetic than that.
I'm  Home

I got my own place today
And I did this without you
Turned the key and unlocked the door
And saw the empty rooms

The empty rooms reminded me
That although you wont be here
I'll have a chance to fill the rooms
With memories I'll hold dear

I can paint the walls with colors
Brite and pleasing to my eyes
Cover up past pain and hurt
Now knowing I'll survive

I can look out each new window
Or look in and see the views
And never see a memory
Of the times I spent with you

I will place my pictures on the walls
Let your memory fade from view
And rearrange my future
To allow for something new

This new place I have will be my home
Where new memories will be made
It all began when I turned the key
As I walked in today

I'm Home
I'm Home

I tried to show the emotion and hurt and at the same time the healing. I also wanted to stay true to both the physical as well as the emotionaal move.
