The Past
It Haunts us,
It Taunts us
Follows us around.
We regret
We can't forget
It keeps us tightly wound.
It's blurry,
We worry,
Will all our memories leave?
A hazy smile
A blackened tile
We're easy to deceive.
The Present
It wakes us up
It takes us up,
Plasters us to stress.
We face our fears
It ends in tears
It makes us all confess.
It never lasts,
It turns to past,
Just a distant thought.
It's everyday
We can't run away,
It leaves our heartstrings taught.
The Future**
We can't hide,
Can't brush aside
What we don't expect.
If it let's us down,
We turn it around,
It's pointless to object.
Simple prepare
Honestly care,
We just might have a chance
A little glimmer
Not possibly slimmer
It will allow us to advance.

Tiptoe across the tightrope,
over the blasting waterfalls,
one step at a time
make it to the other side,
and all you're waiting to hear,
is the voice of someone dear
whisper,
"I'm proud of you."

The rope is wet,
and the air is cold,
the wind has picked up,
and you're losing your balance,
physically and mentally.
But you still want to hear,
that voice,
"I'm proud of you."

You're halfway there,
the spray from the water
is soaking into your skin,
and making you heavy.
The rope sags beneath your weight,
and you have this sinking feeling,
that you will never hear that voice
whisper,
"I'm proud of you."

One more step,
and you will make it,
you're so close to the land,
and you will be safe.
You take that step,
you're ears are searching,
for that voice to whisper,
But it never,
came.

No one was there,
only the echo of your thoughts.
And you realize you're alone,
and you fall,
with only the torrential waters and opaque rocks,
to catch you.
And as you fall you yell out,
Those words you've longed to hear for so long.

You hit the water,
and never return,
you'll never hear the voice
that shouted with you.
and now you'll never know,
that your dear one
yelled,
"I'm proud of you!"

But by then,
it was already too late,
and you're gone,
down under those dark rushing waters,
with the words
you never heard from them,
floating in your head,
during your final moments,
of life,
"I'm proud of you."
It's so funny how everything in this life can seem so small when looking into infinity. How things held so high in everyday life are useless when looked at from a stars perspective. Problems... money... what does it all really matter if your still living? It gets scary when you look at life from this perspective, you are living right now but if tomorrow you were to cease existing... what have you done with your life? Tangible things have no value, and that college degree on your wall does not equal happiness. People live their entire lives seeking to succeed in useless objectives, when in reality none of it matters. Live in the moment, live now, be happy. For that is life. Emotion. Nobody can feel it but you, but it can change the world around you. Why endure relationships that cause you nothing but pain? Why are you punching that clock when there is so much more to life then just that? Im not saying drop out, quit your job, and live on the side of the road... I just need people to realize that you can irradiate things in your life that cause oneself pain. Go and lay out under the stars and listen to the songs of the universe. The stars have been around far before our time and will surely exist even when we do not. Stop wasting time worrying about things that don't matter and just enjoy life. Do not live in such a way that you are pleasing others, that isn't living at all. Find yourself, chase after your dreams, voice your opinions, and smile. Be happy, be free, be yourself; for that is all you can be.
The clouds wander on the placid water plane,
Fallen dark angels, trapped in cold flat surface,
Surreal, above the slow swimming fish in the depth

My urge to wade in and stand knee-deep
Will now smash water's fragile memory
Of sun blazed cold clouds in to smithereens

The fish, unaware of all this
And an intimacy that goes beyond
Many incarnations, would tickle
Me from toe to knee, nibble till it bleeds.

Water, a memory beyond birth,
My momentary refuge, sin and redemption.
Pain that binds me with life's incessant
Yearning to go back to elements.

It's in blue water, watching her in full bloom,
Swim in exuberant mirth, I spilled my wild seeds.
And once, the ashes of my father's mortal remains
Went gently in to water, to be one with mother earth.

**Water, beginning and the end, my forgiving
Mother, waiting with stretched hands at both ends.
