Sleeping in your bed
Or a brick on your head
Dead equals dead
Did you hear what I said?
No matter how you go
All of us should know
That we’re gonna, so
Don’t let it be a blow

And what’s even more
If you’re at Stage Four
What you know for sure
Is it’s knocking at your door
So don’t get paranoid
Or become destroyed
About what you can’t avoid
It’s like a hemorrhoid

It doesn’t matter how
Whether later or now
Death won’t make you smile
It’s what you most revile
But like it or not
All of us get caught
So don’t get overwrought
It’s not some kind of plot

Whether young or old
Death’s not in your control
Though it’s awesome to behold
We know it's been foretold
So when somebody dies
You shouldn’t be surprised
Once you stop to realize
God owns that whole franchise

Dear Mr. North
Tell me what do you mean?
When you say that they're
Part of a propaganda machine
You weren’t at Parkland
Nor at the scene
When they got mowed down
By that gun carrying fiend

You’re the new head
Of the NRA
Who’s looking for something
Outrageous to say
So why would mass ******
Get in the way
Of your sick agenda
It happens, (okay)

I guess when you think about it
It makes perfect sense
The Iran-Contra scandal
Had your fingerprints
So it’s not hard for you
To come to the defense
Of the NRA
And therefore, hence

It’s easy for you
To attempt to equate
The Civil Rights movement
With your brand of hate
But the arch of justice bends
And the hour is late
For you to make that
Part of your debate

Death is coming
But I can't tell you when
I don't have his itinerary
So why should I pretend
To know his schedule
It's not like he's a friend
He's unwanted visitor
Who signifies the end

Death is coming
He's knockin' at my door
But I'll resist him
Until I can't no more
Every new year
What I know for sure
Is  he's one year closer to me
Than he was before

Death is coming
Every day since I was born
He draws ever nearer
Like an approaching dawn
The time's not certain
Until the time is gone
Then all that's left behind
Are loved ones who will morn

Death is coming
He's knockin' at the door
But I'll resist him
Until I can't no more
Every new year
What I know for sure
Is he's one year closer to me
Than he was before

So do what you can
With the time that you have now
Tomorrow isn't promised
To you anyhow
Do an act of kindness
Greet someone with a smile
Cos' we'll all be leaving here
In a little while

At times like most
I guess I do pretend
This life that I'm living
Is never gonna end
But in truth in fact
It's nothing but pure spin
Cos Death is coming
He;s just around the bend

Death is coming
He's knockin' at my door
But I'll resist him
Until I can't no more
Every new year
What I know for sure
Is he's one year closer to me
Than he was before

Death is coming
But I can't tell you when
I don't have his itinerary
So why should I pretend
To know his schedule
It's not like he's a friend
He's unwanted visitor
Who signifies the end

Don’t know what to say
Other than fairwell
Death has finally claimed
Another venerable hotel
Where everyone from
Sid Vicious to Dee Dee Ramone
At one time or another stayed
And called it their home

Requiem for the Chelsea
May she rest in peace
Now that all activity inside her
Has finally ceased
Closed for renovations
See we’ve heard that before
The death knell has been tolled
She ain’t coming back no more

Nevermore to open
In its present incarnation
Cos now the Chelsea’s history
Despite the acclamations
What the future holds
Is anybody’s guess
But if I’m forced to take one
I’d say condos at best

The Chelsea was a grand hotel
Back there in the day
Name me one musician
Who didn’t book a stay
The Chelsea was iconic
What else can I say
Except that it’s ironic
That it went down that way

Only God knows
How far their debauchery goes
When they’re in the throws
On the path that they chose
They’re readily admitting
To spitting and *******
On our hallow halls
As the Capitol falls

Who are these miscreants?
That the President sent
One and all hell-bent
Planting seeds of discontent
Now paying the cost
For which he’s engrossed
The election that he loss
Sleepy Joe will be the boss

What manner of man
Or for that matter woman can
Not understand the dubious plan
Of that failed man
Up on the stage
Encouraging rampage
As a way to vent rage
In this Joe Biden age

Now calls for the ascendant
Twenty-Fifth Amendment
With Trump as defendant
Remains dependent
On the Vice President’s reach
Or Congress might impeach
As many people beseech
They have a right to free speech

We  owe you
A debt of gratitude
When we started out
You were the dude
Whose comedy
Helped set the mood
You were better than a plate
Of hot cooked food

In your footsteps
Is were we all tread
We listened closely
To every word you said
You’re the one who
Put it in all of our heads
That we could be like you
On TV in fancy threads

You know we owe it,
All to you
You’re the main reason
Why we do what we do
You’re the one we studied
And pointed to
When we decided
On comedy too

You probably got yours
From Richard Pryor
But you’re from our era
So we hold you higher
You’re our muse
And you inspire
Us to always do our best
And to reach higher

The president has exceeded
Decorum by far
American cities aren’t the
Province of Anbar
If he brings in the troops
We’ll all bare the scar
Of a president who took
His power too far

The president doesn’t know
Where to draw the line,
Despite the roadblocks
He’s likely to find
He bulldozes ahead
As if he is blind
But if he keeps it up
He’ll die on a vine

The president is obviously
Tone deaf
Our nation’s in morning
And we are bereft
He pushes the limits
Until nothing’s left
Other than a stroke
Or maybe his death

The president hasn’t read
The Bible or Constitution
And he’s rolled back the laws
Against air pollution
As if climate change
Is some kind of solution
But everything he does
Is lilliputian

I’m sitting here
In deep contemplation
About some things
Affecting our nation
What was normal
Is on vacation
Guess the key
Is for me to be patient

This has changed
The way I think
And here lately
I’ve turned to drink
And maybe that suggests
I’m on the brink
Of having to go see
A good shrink

See it’s hard
To process this
When everything seems
To be amiss
And we all
Might be at risk
I’m hoping that
You get my gist

When  our optimism
Takes a dive
We’ve gotta keep
Hope alive
And that ain’t
No happy talk jive
It’s the best way
For us to survive

Defending the indefensible
Is not a matter of principle
In a word is incomprehensible
Or better yet reprehensible
But you can hear the chant
From the mouth of a sycophant
Sounding a sibilant
To give it a certain slant

If it’s purely a matter of choice
How do you justify giving a voice
To Booker T. over DuBois
It’s just a matter of perspective
On the part of one who’s reflective
Representing the collective
In a matter worthy of invective
Or at the very least a corrective

Why would you want to defend?
Or for that matter try to pretend
That you’re in it for a just end
When it’s impossible to comprehend
Who is it you’re trying to serve
Is it someone that might not deserve
Your support should be held in reserve
In deference to what you observe

Why should you come to the aid,
Of someone whose bed is already made?
See that’s not me throwing shade
At those so easily swayed
It’s just a salient fact
Based on the way that they act
They need to be attacked
And not a word of it will I redact

He gave it a yo-man’s try
But democracy can’t be allowed to die
Because of that loser’s great big lie
And there’s no need to wonder why
Because the majority of us deserve it
We must do all we can to preserve it
Despite the efforts of those who misserve it
Doing their best to unnerve it

He did everything he could
To steal the election knock on wood
But it didn’t do him any good
Cos he lost anyhow understood?
Now he tells a lie that gets repeated
About why it is that he got defeated
Which is all the more reason that he got heated
And claimed that the other side cheated

Before the race even began
He claimed that the fix was in
Though incumbents usually win
Challengers do now and then
And that was the case in this race
The incumbent was the one who lost face
Going down in utter disgrace
Having soundly been replaced

Those in the know can detect
The former President’s a primary suspect
And he’s a nervous wreck
Which boggles one’s intellect
So much for democracy
When it’s us against the oligarchy
All the rest is pure malarkey
Like the drumming of Richard Starkey

Democracy or theocracy
The choice is yours
What it’s gonna be
Take another look
At Lady Liberty
And ask yourself this question
Do you like bein free

There’s no doubt that
Christians have good news
But we here in America
Have the right to choose
Some may refuse to bow
Or to acquiesce
But they’re still citizens
None the less

Democracy or theocracy
The choice is yours
What it’s gonna be
Take another look
At Lady Liberty
And ask yourself this question
Do you like bein free

See we’re all equal
In God’s sight
He didn’t designate
The religious right
To rule over
All the rest of us
So in Him believers
Oughta place their trust

Still some out there
Are bound to insist
That’s fine for believers
But the atheist
Should also have the right
To not believe
So their pursuit of happiness
Can be achieved

Democracy or theocracy
The choice is yours
What it’s gonna be
Take another look
At Lady Liberty
And ask yourself this question
Do you like bein free

She prays in a church
And he a synagogue
But even the mosque
Is still the House of God
More than one road
Leads to Rome
And more than one religion
Claims heaven home

Still some out there
Are bound to insist
That’s fine for believers
But the atheist
Should also have the right
To not believe
So their pursuit of happiness
Can be achieved

Democracy or theocracy
The choice is yours
What it’s gonna be
Take another look
At Lady Liberty
And ask yourself this question
Do you like bein free

The night was hot
So she retreated
To her front stoop
But things got heated
5 shots rang out
Into the night
And who got hit
You guessed it right

Dem thugs ‘n gangstas
Ain’t up to no good
Dey always
Shootin up the neighborhood

Pregnant and shot
Right through the neck
And so the ambulance
Made the trek
To the hospital
Five blocks away
Where she arrived
DOA

Dem thugs ‘n gangstas
Ain’t up to no good
Dey always
Shootin up the neighborhood

In the O.R.
It was intense
But due to God
And providence
A healthy baby boy
Was born
Torn from her womb
His mother, gone

An act of violence
Gone aerie
A pregnant woman
Caused to die
Because of someone’s
Senseless act
And nothing said
Can bring her back

Dem thugs ‘n gangstas
Ain’t up to no good
Dey always
Shootin up the neighborhood

In the O.R.
It was intense
But due to God
And providence

Despite all our yappin
Maybe we’ve been nappin’,
Why it keeps on happinin’?
Sometimes overlappin’
While tryin’ to get along,
Where did we go wrong?
It’s the same ‘ole song
Is their racism that strong?

They usually let ‘em slide
So we’ll let you decide
God knows how we’ve tried
And that can’t be denied
They have a virtuosity
For committing an atrocity
With a certain viscosity
It’s an unchanging philosophy

We are not naive
Sayin’ “I can’t breathe!”
If statistic are believed
Don’t mean we’ll be relieved
Nine times out of ten
Woe be unto black men
That police apprehend
Will our wounds ever mend?

Though some may find it strange
We need fundamental change
At home and on the range
Let’s have a fair exchange
It is a long time in comin
Like novacaine it’s numbing
Despite the somber drumming
The machine keeps on humming

Going to the Mosque to pray
Five times a day
Doesn’t make her devout
If she’s going astray
Wearing her hijab in public
Each and every day
Does not mean that she was devout
No matter what you say

How could she have been devout
But clearly disobey
One of the most important things
That the Qu’ran has to say
The unjust killing of the innocent
Can never be okay
It’s as if she killed everyone
In the world today

How could she be saleheen
And do the things she did
With no precedence in sunnuh
That’s doing what Shaytan bid
Islam encourages mercy
And she did not show none
Which adds to the controversy
When she opened fire with her gun

Her devoutness shouldn’t be measured
By how she outwardly appeared
If her Islam had been treasured
All she had to do was adhere
To its principles and tenets
Which clearly she did not share
Nor did she offer penance
That anyone could hear

Did OJ do it
I don’t know
Who it was
That struck the fatal blows
I wasn’t there
But even so
I have a theory
Far as that goes

Did OJ do it
Who’s to say
The witnesses are dead
And by the way
It’s only conjecture
Brought into play
On any witness stand
On a given day

Did OJ do it
Many say yes
And I might too
If I had to guess
But that’s not evidence
It is at best
Pure supposition
Nonetheless

Did OJ do it
Only he knows
And he hasn’t admitted it
Nor has he chose
To expound on a theory
But I suppose
He’s been subjected
To his own blows

Did the brother lie
To make you and i
Buy his alibi
The question then, is why?
Was he seeking sympathy
From fans like you and me?
We’ll have to wait and see
What the truth will be

If it was a staged fight
The truth will come to light
Cuz’ wrong is clear from right
Just like day from night
I hope not for his sake
See the woken are awake
But don’t know what to make
If the claim turns out half baked

Perhaps he’ll be believed
By the people he deceived
Who may well be aggrieved
If they find they were naïve
Listening to his telling
His account was so compelling
Which had some of us yelling
Whoever did it was a felon

We know TMZ talks
And sometimes even shocks
By picking apart the locks
Even though the brother balks
He can deny to his death
When nothing else is left
And he’s taking his last breath
That a lie is like a theft

Did you ever wonder
Why the sky is blue
Or the lightening and the thunder
Serves to frighten you
When you see a flock of birds
Flying in the sky
Have you ever asked yourself
On whom do they rely

Did you ever wonder
Or take the time to think
Who gave you food to eat
Or the water that you drink
How could anybody say
That he doesn’t exist
Are they deaf and blind
Or simply just remiss

Did you ever wonder
Do you have the thirst
For a deeper knowledge
Of the universe
Have you ever thought about
What can’t be explained
Things that some attribute
To other men in vain

Did you ever wonder
Or take the time to think
Who gave you food to eat
Or the water that you drink
How could anybody say
That he doesn’t exist
Are they deaf, dumb and blind
Or simply just remiss

Your wonders are everywhere
For us to behold
But some ignore clear evidence
Even when it’s shown
I’m not judging them
Though their judgment’s coming soon
But they still have a gambler’s chance
To avoid their doom

Did you ever wonder
Or take the time to think
Who gave you food to eat
Or the water that you drink
How could anybody say
That he doesn’t exist
Are they deaf, dumb and blind
Or simply just remiss

Some say you’re omnipotent
Others just unseen
And I’d agree with both of them
Depending what they mean
Because I see you everywhere
And in everything
A blade of grass a mountain top
And church bells when they ring

Your wonders are everywhere
For us to behold
But some ignore clear evidence
Even when it’s shown
I’m not judging them
Though their judgment’s coming soon
But they still have a gambler’s chance
To avoid their doom

He was king of disco back then
When they thought it would never end
But I’m afraid it did my friend
And this was the message that got sent
Something like a distant cousin
Disco ***** all of a sudden
When dance music had ‘em buzzin
Hip or cool it just wasn’t

Disco *****
Was what they said
It got classified
Among the dead
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
That’s what happens
When things go bust

What it spelled was
Gloom and doom
He was no longer
The hippest person in the room
Chic stopped being au curant
He couldn’t get seated in a restaurant
Like he used to at l’enfant
He was no longer everyone’s confidant

Disco *****
Was what they said
It got classified
Among the dead
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
That’s what happens
When things go bust

Yesterday it was all the rage
When suddenly they turned
Another page
Call it dance music
Or new age
The monkey just broke
Out of his cage

Disco *****
Was what they said
It got classified
Among the dead
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
That’s what happens
When things go bust

He was king of disco back then

They won’t even explain
That comment about John McCain
Nor will they refrain
From causing him pain
Be that as it may
To this very day
They refuse to say - who
Or make ‘em pay

His vote doesn’t matter
Was their chitter chatter
As they stirred the batter
Before they scattered
And none will own up
To being so abrupt
As to corrupt
That scenario construct

So were they wise
They’d apologize
For speaking demise
Before cutting ties
With the guilty party
Who was such a smarty
As to shame Laurel and Hardy
With that sort of barley

There’s no denying
That John McCain is dying
But there’s no justifying
Them not replying
To our queries of who
Said what they knew
Would put the *****
To one of their crew

You say you want diversity

At your elite university

But your thirst for tuition

Places you in an awkward position

Because when your recruiter makes a call

Wealth will usually trump it all

And most likely it’s exclusive

Or should I say, non-inclusive?

So admission tends to be

Limited to the same folks I always see

In the line ahead of me

And, you won’t let me in for free

So never mind Affirmative Action

Which has undergone some redactions

Because of the adverse reactions

Of those expressing their dissatisfactions

It’s not a matter of superior intellect

As some of you might suspect

It’s the turf that you seek to protect

Like the monuments you *****

Attempts to level the playing field

Lack the same kind of appeal

I’m just trying to keep it real

But, you already know the deal

Despite how it makes me feel

And it’s not like we’re not driven

How many years of free labor have we given

You’re surprised that we’re still living

Or, that the past is not forgiven

But after all is said and done

The sins of the father will visit the son

So if you happen to be the one

Are my chances still slim to none?

Fox News has finally
Filed for divorce
From Bill O’Rielly
For being coarse
They say that they
Can no longer endorse
That kind of behavior
In their workforce

Sponsors have left Fox
By the droves
As that old adage
Commonly goes
Guilt by association
I suppose
In a place where
The emperor wears no clothes

Some say the divorce
Is quite overdue
When Roger Ailes left
O’ Rielly should have too
None of the allegations
Were from out the blue
Human Resources
Must have also knew

And so a sad chapter
Finally closes
At Fox news
And what I suppose is
They’ve been forced
To take care of their biz
Before they’re reduced
To nothing but fizz

They hope against hope
For survival
But what are they?
Dead on arrival
Historic footnotes
Perhaps archival
No longer contenders
Or arch rivals

Former debaters
At the kids table
Who wanted a chance
To prove themselves able
To break out and join
The rest of the stable
All they needed
Was a booster cable

But as another one
Bit the dust
Going down
In total disgust
The frontrunners
Remained nonplussed
While observing
All that’s left is just us

See their base
Was so hell bent
On making sure
That the message sent
Was conservative to the core
As far as that went
And they we’re determined
Not to relent

Lord though I can’t see you
I can read your words
And I can see your creation
The thought never occurs
To question your existence
As some might be inclined
Instead of your existence
They need to check their minds

Does God really exist
Their questioning persists
They’re fostering pure ignorance
And this they should resist

Lord though I can’t see you
There’s enough evidence
To give the notion credence
That you make perfect sense
To question your existence
Is arrogance at best
Or just some ****** babble
From the lost and the clueless

Does God really exist
Their questioning persists
They’re fostering pure ignorance
And this they should resist

Name me one religion
That cannot make the case
That there’s a God in heaven
That’s always been in place
The evidence is everywhere
That He’s alive and well
And even after we’re all gone
He’ll survive to tell

Does God really exist
Their questioning persists
They’re fostering pure ignorance
And this they should resist

Lord though I can’t see you
I can feel Your Grace
And I’m anticipating
When we’ll come face to face
I have felt Your Mercy
And your compassion too
That’s why I’d never question
Cause I believe in you

Does God really exist
Their questioning persists
They’re fostering pure ignorance
And this they should resist

Does he think we forget?
That he lies even yet
About imminent threat
And you can bet
He will do it again
It’s a matter of when
So let’s not pretend
That we don’t comprehend

He’s a Liar and Chief
And a treasury thief
Beyond belief
And there’s no relief
From his Twitter barrage
No it’s not a mirage
It might be sabotage
When he presses discharge

The man’s a disgrace
See he lies in our face
Guess he likes the taste
Yet, in any case
He should be aborted
But he’s still supported
By those
Whom he’s courted

I’m keeping a journal
Cuz hope springs eternal
That he’ll meet the infernal
Aided by some Sterno
I hate to be curt
But his just desert
Is supposed to hurt
Before he in the dirt

Another senseless death
Or comfort the bereft
Because a shooting fest
Created the distress

Dog Whistle Don
Pretends to be forlorn
When innocents are gone
And their lives are torn
From mayhem or ******
But nothing’s more absurder
Than his false sympathy
Cuz as everyone can see
He lacks true empathy

Dog whistle Don
Spouts his rhetoric
Like words tend not to stick
Or attract the sick
That no good such and such
Uses rallies as a crutch
And as long as he’s untouched
He don’t care that much

Dog Whistle Don
Was worthy of our scorn
From the day he was born
His mouth’s been a bullhorn
Inciting crowds to violence
And that the press be silenced
Because of his reliance
On mass compliance

I firmly do believe
That all children conceived
No matter what the process
Or related cost is
Are children nonetheless
And it’s dubious at best
To label them synthetic
In fact it’s quite pathetic

If you’re ever gonna
It’s enough to make you wanna
Dolce your Gabbanna
Or shrink ‘em in a saunna

Why take a position
That the family composition
Must be one way or the other
‘Cos a dad can’t be a mother
If a child is reared with love
And receives the guidance of
Two people who are wedded
Or perhaps they’re just embedded

If you’re ever gonna
It’s enough to make you wanna
Dolce your Gabbanna
Or shrink ‘em in a saunna

This thing goes far beyond
Even Elton John
‘Cos every baby born
Ain’t a Capricorn

Why cast aspersions
Or write a letter to the Persians
Because you disagree
You don’t have hegemony
So now you’re in a rut
Because you’ve shown your ****
And it’s a sordid fact
That you cannot take back

This thing goes far beyond
Even Elton John
‘Cos every baby born
Ain’t a Capricorn

If you’re ever gonna
It’s enough to make you wanna
Dolce your Gabbanna
Or shrink ‘em in a saunna

Vladimir Putin put out a hit
On American soldiers
And Trump ain’t said ****
Not a word of condemnation or rebuke
As if the intelligence he received
Was some kind of a fluke
Any other president
Would have put up his dukes

To Vladimir Putin
Trump is a punk
And he’s Michael Jordan
Making a slam dunk
All over Trump’s puny head
He listens to every word
That the Russian said
But none of the information
That he’s been fed

If he weren’t the president
There’d be ample reason
To bring him up on charges
Of capitol treason
There’s enough evidence
Of his malfeasance
Which undergirds everything
That give this charge credence

Donald J. Trump has betrayed
His oath of office
As well as those still in
The Republicam caucus
Which under his influence
Had been nothing short of racus
It should be enough to
Make you noxious

Donald Trump mugged our flag
At C-Pac, ain’t that a drag?
Then spoke two hours with no lag
And still his numbers don’t seem to sag
Should we call him Teflon Don,
Until the curse is finally gone?
Cuz’ to the manner he was born
So have a seat and some popcorn

Donald Trump made a joke,
About his Russia request, when he spoke
Concerning Hillary’s emails, but that was smoke
Thick enough to make one choke
He was asking them in earnest
It doesn’t take a genius, to learn this
But ignorance they say is bliss
Which must be true, when you look at this

Donald Trump has divided the nation
We’d be on critical were we his patient
So why are most of us complacent?
It defies all logic and is not adjacent
To having a reasonable explanation
But that’s the way it seems to be
And it will be recorded in history
Though it will remain a mystery

Donald Trump is a demigod
Worshipped by Republican’s who are awed
By his majesty which they applaud
Although their rationales are flawed
He is clearly wants to be an autocrat
The fact of the matter, it’s as simple as that
Will he make it? We’ll have to see
Ultimately what it’s gonna be

They’re like a colony of ants
Those feckless sycophants
Who do the Trumpian dance
While afraid to take a chance
That he might be displeased
So they stay on their knees
And refuse to eat the cheese
They just shoot the breeze

They sell their integrity
For an audience of one, ya see
Pleasing him for them is key
To the future they hope will be
People like Michael Pence
Who never had much sense
Or the Secretary of state we know
That coward Pompeo

And then there’s Wilbur Ross
Who’s servile to the boss
Also Steven Minuchin
Whose head is so far in
The President’s great big ***
See, he volunteered for the task
And while we’re at it, let’s unmask
Betsy De Voss and her *******

Then there’s the rest of his coterie
Of apologists we regularly see
Like that Kelly-Ann Conway chick
Who lays it on real thick
Then there’s that housing guy we see
Who should have stuck with brain surgery
What’s the point in saying more?
About Donald Trump's revolving door!

Instead of people huffin’ and puffin’
Some suggest we do nothin’
Cos “stuff happens,” we need to toughen
And there’s no need for handcuffin’
It’s unfortunate that some folks die
But guns are as American as apple pie
Now some of you might wonder why
Though what I’ve said you can’t deny

It’s not guns it’s the mentally ill
That continues to maim and ****
For the fame or for the thrill
They get off on the blood they spill
If a love of guns is your predilection
And being armed gives you an *******
Cos you’re concerned with your protection
My reply is bullets fly in all directions
So this might call for some introspection

Critics say don’t politicize
They ignore words to the wise
Even though we’ve analyzed
The evidence before our eyes
And they ignore the hurt and sorrow
That could be theirs on any morrow
From history they refuse to borrow
Because their hearts are cold and hollow

Clearly congress has been lax when
They’ve been called to take action
Those who do are just a fraction
Of the whole which is a fact and
This problem will stay with us
Unless we change because we must
Do more than in God we trust
Common sense gun laws or bust

Don’t accuse me of
Misusing this forum
When there’s enough
Evidence for me to draw on
Angry white folks
Are an oxymoron
Follow along
And we’ll explore on

White anger is
Clearly palpable
Especially when
It’s Incalculable
You would have thought
That they had an ear full
But now they’ve gone out
And bought the bull

They all claim to want
Their country back
But it hasn’t gone anywhere
And that’s a fact
If you don’t believe me
Ask any black
Or brown person who’s
Comes under attack

Things have changed
I’ll give ‘em that
And white privilege isn’t
Where it once was at
But just because it’s
Our turn at bat
Shouldn’t give ‘em
Cause to react

Don’t attack me
Because we disagree
I have the right
To be LGBT
Don’t attack me
And expect me to surrender
Due to my color
Or because my gender

Don’t attack me and think
I’ll turn the other cheek
I won’t be submissive
Nor will I be weak
What must I do
To make you understand
Don’t attack me
Cos you think you can

Don’t attack me
Like it’s open season
Without a rhyme
Or even a reason
Don’t attack me
Like a lamb to slaughter
Nor should you do it
Cos you think you oughta

Don’t attack me
Because it’s convenient
When you know that you
Should try to be lenient
Don’t attack me
Because you find it easy
It would be easier
If you tried to please me

Don’t believe the fake news
What have you got to lose?
If I am the one you choose
So why do you still refuse?
Crime is rampant you see
So law and order must be
The reason you listen to me
To hell with your dignity

Don’t believe the fake news
They let me ****** their cooze
And I don’t ply them with *****]
I just kiss the ones that I choose
For those of you who might balk
It’s not that I walk that walk
That’s just some locker room talk
Though it might screech like blackboard chalk

Don’t believe the fake news
They say that I’m gonna lose
BA-lieve me I’ve paid my dues
And I’m a friend of the Jews
So we’ll have to wait and see
If the people are gonna pick me
Over that lying Hillary
The Electoral College is key

Don’t believe the fake news
Considering that they lit the fuse
And attacked me in no less than twos
Knowing that I easily bruise
But hit me and I’ll counterpunch
More than that, eat your lunch
Until I hear the celery crunch
Whether breakfast dinner or brunch

Don’t call it a protest
When clearly it’s anybody’s guess
From what I see it’s the anatomy
Of how things can digress
Don’t call it a protest
If it’s an urban insurrection
Although I feel at best
It's a blow to the mid-section

Don’t call it a protest
Or the perpetrators simply thugs
After years of daily oppression
Knowing what oppression does
Don’t call it a protest
Call it anything other than that
When you see the anger boiling over
Because they’ve taken it to the mat

Don’t call it a protest
Or believe the media’s spin
When grievances aren’t addressed
It’s no telling where it will end
Don’t call it a protest
Or even try to dignify
The looting and the burning
Without answering the question why

Don’t call it a protest
Or mention First Amendment rights
When the majority of the people
Have to spend sleepless nights
Don’t call it a protest
Or look for a convenient excuse
For how they expressed their frustration
Through criminal acts of  abuse

Don’t judge us
By the actions
Of a deviant few
Who engage in activities
That we’d never do
Personally I think that
They’re missing a *****
And I believe, you know it too

Allahu-Akbar is not
A declaration of hate
The literal translation
Is that God is Great
And no God we know
Would ever conflate
Terrorism with His Will
At any rate

Don’t judge us by
The easily influenced who
Are in league with the devil
And spew what he spews
It’s not the religion
But I thought you knew
By the depths of depravity
They’ve taken it to

They’re winning converts
Every single day
Who are clearly malcontent
Quite a few people say
They think that religion
Makes it perfectly okay
So they don’t let their conscience
Get in the way

Don’t let him whisper
In your ear
That this virus
Will just disappear
Or that a cure
Is very near
In a word
He’s insincere

Don’t allow him
To make believe
That there’s some magic
Up his sleeve
That only he
Can retrieve
If the data
Is to be believed

In invincibility
He’d like to bask
So he refuses
To wear a mask
And now the dye
Has been cast
It’s become clear
He’s not up to the task

Obviously he’s
On a trip
While his poll numbers
Continue to slip
Like a captain of
A sinking ship
Too bad he hasn’t
Got a grip

Don’t make me cuss!
He’s never been like us
He was left a trust
While we inherited dust
How could he understand
The average man?
He has a diabolical plan
And a golden can

Don’t make me curse!
He’s the absolute worse
He’s so self-immersed
He places himself first
See that *******
Is for the super rich
And the rest of us
Can just go dig a ditch

Don’t make me use profanity
To describe his insanity
Born out of vanity
And Sean Hannity
He’ll take the 5th
About January 6th
Or pretend it’s a myth
And a Republican gift

Don’t make me imprecate!
The kind of hate
That’s a counterweight
To this debate
But you always knew
He’s not like me or you
He’s just the glue
His party adheres to

Don’t say,  “Allahu Akbar!”
Because the facts are
That while God is Great
He’s not a God of hate
And if you can’t relate
You have a second rate
Ideology can’t you see
It’s clearly blaspheme

Don’t say, “Allahu Akbar!”
While you blow up a car
To maim and ****
As if it’s God’s will
You won’t reach paradise
Because it isn’t nice
To harm humanity
Read Qu’ran like me

Don’t say, “Allahu Akbar!”
Who you think you are
God doesn’t sanctions you
To do the things you do
You think it’s heaven sent
To **** the innocent
And do it in a Name
That you clearly defame

Don’t say, “Allahu Akbar!”
When you know you are
Just an insane jihadi
Down with al Baghdadi
Who’s merely a snake
So give me a break
Because he’s a viper
Worthy of a ******

Please don’t take this
Outta context
But a coup might
Very well be next
Why it hasn’t happen already
Has me perplexed
It’s long overdue
That we cleared the decks

Why the Joint Chief of Staff
Haven’t risen up
To stop this president
Who has run amuck
And shown the whole world
He doesn’t give a ****
Is a mystery to me
Perhaps it’s dumb luck

In a sense, we the people
Have miserably failed
Trump should have long ago
Been derailed
If he wasn’t president
He would have been jailed
Or at the very least
As Commander and Chief
He’s obviously failed

He’s the only president
Who’s tried to divide
The American people
To whom he has lied
But sooner or later
Karma will be applied
And his second term
Will be marked Denied!

Don’t tell me ******
Don’t like chicken, bro
Look at the lengths
To which they will go
For a Popeye’s sandwich
You might get killed, yo
But they’ll wait on line
For one, even so

Don’t tell me ******
Aren’t addicted to chicken
As if it were crack
That was there for the picking
As the Colonel might say
When it’s finger licking
Nothing beats a piece
Of good fried chicken

Don’t tell me ******
Don’t like that yard bird
To even suggest that
Is simply absurd
And popeye’s sandwiches
I know ya heard
Are the best of the bunch
At least that’s the word

Don’t say that ******
Don’t eat chicken on Sunday
They eat other things
If it’s let’s say, a Monday
In fact it’s as common
As is the  gunplay
We hear in the hood
When the cops are away

Hope the lock on Trump’s door
Is a double bolt
It won’t take much more
To stir up a revolt
Which isn’t helped
By the fact he’s a dolt
Who’s badly in need of
An electric jolt

Hope his living quarters
Are secure
Because the generals are coming for him
That’s for sure
And they have a reason
Not to ignore
The fact he’s steadily beating
The drums of war

Hope the President has
A good escape plan
Because it’s clear to one and all
Things are getting out of hand
He’s trying to start a war
With ancient Iran
Comforted by the notion
That he believes he can

Hope America’s dictator’s thinking
Long and hard
About  World War Three
Which he’s about to start
Just to prove to us
That he has rare heart
See he’s prepared to take us
To ‘til death do us part

As things return back to the norm
And we all vow to seek reform
We experience the quiet after the storm
Which makes us feel secure and warm
How can we expect different results
When we haven’t learned the ins and outs
Of the social conditions that brings about
Us traveling down the same route

Insanity I’ve heard people say
Is repeating your mistakes the same old way
And expecting the results to be different okay
Doing the same old **** on a different day
History exists so we can learn
If the pages of the books ever get turned
Then our present and our future wouldn’t be burned
Are we stuck in the communities that we’ve earned

This is not just criticism it’s introspection
Cos I feel that we’re headed in the wrong direction
And we’re in need of an immediate correction
Not for their benefit, but for our own protection
More than one road may lead to Rome
But we can’t fiddle while we lose all we own
Where we gonna live, in the Twilight Zone
After all the Molotof Cocktails get thrown

I’m not a sociologist merely a pundit
But the evidence that I cite is abundant
And I’m saying this at the risk of being redundant
I can hear you hiss knowing that this might be repugnant
If it serves a purpose and that purpose is to provoke
Then perhaps at last we can remove the yoke
Of abandoned all civility of going for broke
Once everything settles including the smoke

Do you know
What it says,
To believe no one cares
But still ask for their prayers?
Do you know,
What it means,
To be on TV screens
Before his loyalist fiends?

Did you know,
Those MAGA hats,
Are like waving baseball bats,
To those fringe element cats?
And did you realize.
The things most of us despise,
Are alright in their eyes,
So they won’t criticize?

Do you know,
The President,
Shows his bad intents,
And it doesn’t make sense?
You see, he complains
Trying to baffle our brains,
Though the fact still remains
That goes through great pains

His overreach,
Has made Congress impeach
For the lesson it will teach
And he hasn’t even reached
His second term
Though it will affirm
He has reason to squirm
Like a rainy day worm

Do you remember,
The year was 1956
When Frankie Lymon and the Teenages
Came into the mix
They used to rehearse
In the junior high school Stitt
And were very special
You’ll have to admit

Do you remember?
Are you aware
Of the trail that he blazed
Do you even care
When doo *** was born
They were right there
Singing their harmonies
In the hallway stair

Do you remember?
Their star shined so bright
And then diminished
Almost over night
They didn’t receive credit
For songs they would write
Their time was limited
In the spot light

Do you remember?
And did you morn,
When you heard the news
Frankie Lymon was gone?
He and the Teenages
Took the whole world by storm
See, he left a place in our hearts
That was warm

Dr. King, Dr. King,
Because of you we sing,
And celebrate your special day,
In a special way

Dr. King, Dr. King
We recognize your dream,
And what you tried to do
That's why it's only fitting,
That today we honor you

Dr. King, Dr. King,
Because of you we sing,
And celebrate your special day,
In a special way

Dr. King, Dr. King
You made it to the mountain top,
And saw the promised land,
You said you might not get there with us,
But our freedom was at hand

Dr. King, Dr. King,
Because of you we sing,
And celebrate your special day,
In a special way

And things are so much better now
Than they were back then
But we still have a way to go,
Before we reach the end

Dr. King, Dr. King,
Because of you we sing,
And celebrate your special day,
In a special way

From Selma to Montgomery
And places in between
Your civil rights summary
Is anything but lean
What would we have done
If you weren’t on the scene

Dr. King, Dr. King,
Because of you we sing,
And celebrate your special day,
In a special way

Dr. King, Dr. King
We recognize your dream,
And what you tried to do
That's why it's only fitting,
That today we honor you

They’re dropping like flies
Wherever he appears
But we have a president
Who never cares
About the consequences of
The actions that he dares
While acting as if
He’s unawares

There’s only one thing
That he’s focused on
Getting reelected so
He isn’t gone
From the spotlight that
He’s coveted all along
He’s a weak president
Who projects like he’s strong

Meanwhile he talks about
Having turned the corner
While there’s an increased need
For a local coroner
He blame the pandemic on
A far eastern foreigner
And manages the virus
As if he’s a warrener

The fact of the matter is
He’s a total disaster
But he thinks he is
A past master
When it comes to everything
That he might be after
Which causes derision
And outright laughter

They plied ‘em with
Drugs and liquor
Because it worked quicker
In getting girls into their beds
Once they were out of their heads
It was raw and dank
A sick schoolboy prank
Watching frat boys pulling rank

They found themselves
Used, compromised
Once they opened their eyes
Those girls placed
In awkward positions
On whom one after another
***** frat brother
Exercised their ambitions

They gave no second thought
To what their actions
Had wrought
Or the damage that
It might have done
To the victimized one
Once they shot off their gun
And their train had ended its run

They were young men then
Is their weak excuse
For their repeated ****** abuse
That they later try to dismiss
It was gross disrespect
Not consensual ***
Despite that pretext
That defies our intellects

Was your conversion
Duly prophesied?
I guess you came aboard
For the full ride
How can I knock it
When I haven’t tried
So how can your
Truthfulness be denied?

Heard Jesus Is King,
And it has appeal
I think that you
Already know the deal
Ya see I have no doubt
That you’re for real
But what it lacks
Is something I can feel

There’s some truth
In each and every track
But it’s no cure for cancer
That’s a fact
You shouldn’t trip
Cuz you have the knack
For making people
Just want to react

What works for you
Miay not work for me
I guess in time
We’ll just have to see
For you it’s Jesus
That can set you free
For me
It's not him necessarily
