How are we supposed to act?
When we’re ticketed because we’re black?
See we are profiled, as a matter of fact
And it seems like the deck is stacked
Cards are coming from the bottom
Like the higher ups have taught ‘em
Winter summer spring and autumn
To fill their quotas, we know they got ‘em

They’ll deny it, if we ask
But they’ve been put up to that task
Their motivation is hard to mask
I’m just trying to put them on blast
It’s a ***** low down shame
That we’re not all treated the same
It’s a vicious racist game
But they don’t want to shoulder blame

Could it be because we’re strangers?
We’re exposed to all sorts of dangers
Whenever we have unpleasant exchanges
They tend to treat us like they’re Texas Rangers
No matter why we’re stopped they’ll insist
We put our hands up and not resist
And if we do we’ll be remiss
We’ll have a better reason to be ******

See if we’re stopped in our cars
We could lose a life, namely ours
Which would contribute to our psychic scars
Long before we see prison bars
And what’s the crime we’re guilty of
While being black which rates above
All kinds of charges derived thereof
It seems our color gets us no love

Tick Tock
It was just a clock
No need for alarm
So where was the harm
Yet Ahmed was arrested
When his teacher suggested
It was a bomb
Not a false alarm

Tick Tock
Ahmed was in shock
When he was hand-cuffed
Which was bad enough
Before he was asked
He was taken to task
But they were too fast
It was a clock alas

Tick Tock
A bomb or a crock
No reason to gawk
Or proceed ad hoc
But that’s what they did
They’ll have to admit
Despite terrorist files
And their denials

Tick tock
Stop the double-talk
Time to take stock
Against culture shock
Don’t demonize
The other guys
Or even surmise
Terror in their eyes

Time goes by fast
But memories that last
Are like snap-shots of the past
That we view in contrast
To the here and now
And so we make a vow
To apply the breaks
And avoid our past mistakes

Time goes by fast
And nothing ever lasts
For those who are miscast
Or the errant iconoclast

In the rear view mirror
Things become much clearer
To the standard bearer
Who see them much nearer
Than they were before
When it was easier to ignore
The intricate designs
Of the various warning signs

Time goes by fast
And nothing ever lasts
For those who are miscast
Or the errant iconoclast

Seconds minutes hours
With all it’s magical powers
We observe like blooming flowers
That time finally devours

And as slowly we retreat
To our thoughts so bitter sweet
Not acquiescing to defeat
That occasionally we meet
So we long for yesteryear
Cuz we’re far away from there
And the veil is very shear
Between there and here

Time goes by fast
And nothing ever lasts
For those who are miscast
Or the errant iconoclast

Time goes by fast
But memories that last
Are like snap-shots of the past
That we view in contrast
To the here and now

Tired Of This Conversation
By: Cedric McClester

Another unarmed person is killed
By a cop
It’s usually someone black or brown
Is it not?
It shouldn’t matter what the color
It’s just has to stop
Before another person
Gets choked or shot

Say you’re tired of this conversation
Well so am I
But I don’t wanna see another person
Needlessly die
No matter what the rational
Or the reason why
You can’t bring ‘em back to life
With a tried alibi

No one said a policeman’s job
Isn’t hard
But that’s no reason why we
Have to be on guard
If we’re black or brown
In order to ******
The fact that we’re in fear of them
For a start

Say you’re tired of this conversation
Well so am I
But I don’t wanna see another person
Needlessly die
No matter what the rational
Or the reason why
You can’t bring ‘em back to life
With a tired alibi

You’re tired of this conversation
We are too
But all across this nation
There’s people on the move
Hoping the situation somehow
Will improve
So that we can put the needle
Back in the groove

Say you’re tired of this conversation
Well so am I
But I don’t wanna see another person
Needlessly die
No matter what the rational
Or the reason why
You can’t bring ‘em back to life
With a tired alibi

Grand juries will sit down
But never indict
The perpetrating policemen
And that ain’t right
When they come back with no true bill
That just incites
And moreover it denies
Their civil rights

Say you’re tired of this conversation
Well so am I
But I don’t wanna see another person
Needlessly die
No matter what the rational
Or the reason why
You can’t bring ‘em back to life
With a tired alibi

Our new toastmaster
Has skin of alabaster
And hair that’s a disaster
Yet he throws insults faster
Than a rocket blaster
Adding insult to injury
The man happens to be
Our Chief Executive, see

We used to call it ranking
Our unique way of spanking
Opponents who were banking
On their wit while pranking
Those that they would clown
By trying to put down
The victims that they found
Seems that is still around

Without mentioning names
Some still play those childish games
They make outrageous claims
In furtherance of their aims
And seemingly succeed
Yes they do indeed
They’re of a different breed

Somewhere in King James
I believe the Bible frames
To stop fanning the flames
And put away childish games
A lesson of concern
That you know who, should learn
Perhaps we should be stern
In saying in hell he’ll burn

To be fair
And I might say, perfectly clear
It his paradigm to prepare
Jeb Bush is quite aware
Of the tortoise and the hare
Despite fits and starts and a scare
He’s convinced that he’ll be there
And his victory is close it’s near

His burden was a ton
But when it’s all said and done
He’ll be the only one
Basking in the sun
Counting all his mon’
Happy to have run
Declared the favorite son
It didn’t take a Gatling gun

Jeb’s been
Mild mannered And meek
Going after What he seeks
Though it took a while to peak
It didn’t mean the man was weak
He’ll be dancing cheek to cheek
Showing off his new technique
A risen star so to speak

Now some might say
He’s dreaming
At least that’s how it’s seeming
But he’s plotting and he’s scheming
Quietly instead of screaming
See his future’s bright and gleaming
And he cannot help but beaming
At the others futile scheming

This goes out
To Donald J. Trump
Better watch what you say
You degenerate chump
If Omarosa’s a dog
Who no longer pleases
You might just wake up
With flees and diseases

If she’s a lowlife,
Which she may well be,
What does that make you?
You hired her, see
Birds of a feather
It’s often been said
Flock together
Or was it something I read

This I know for sure
You musta been lying
When you said that she
Was crazed and crying
Cuz she gives it out
Better than you
But that shoulda been
Something you already knew

Look at her now
Watch her closely too
As she tells it all
While twisting in the *****
You knew about those Clinton emails
Before they were out
The Russian musta told you
I haven't a doubt

To just sit back
And let it happen
Means she was derelict
Or otherwise jus’ napping
In either case
They’ll be no high five slappin’
For giving away the city
In a bow and wrappin’

It’s clear to me
Her capacity was reached
She allowed the decorum
To be breached
In contradiction to everything
Dr. King preached
What that says to me is
She needs to be impeached

Now some or y’all will say
Give the sister a break
But my question to them
Is how much does it take
For her to stop sleeping
And be shaken awake
So it’s time that the sister
Got hook or the rake

I wanr the name of genius
Who burned down CVS
Someone who doesn’t live there
If I had to guess
But it’s nothing but ashes now
Nevertheless
How come the police stood by
And watched it digress

Looters and burners
Are clearly implicated
But they’re not the only ones
It must be stated
So can someone tell me why
The mayor waited
For her city to burn
And only acted belated
To Just Sit Back is another poem inspired by the events in Baltimore in the wake of the Freddie Gray funeral.

If not for his position
It could make you laugh
Because he seem prone
To the frequent gaff
And let’s not forget
He’s been too cute by half
And by now it should be clear
He hasn’t done the math

His errant comments
Just served to reveal
That he doesn’t believe
In a level playing field
And his colleague Thomas
Will probably yield
To his warped opinion
As his past has revealed

Not one of their mouths
Has been any freer
Than Supreme Court Justice
Antonin Scalia
Don’t he make you wanna
Scream Mama mia
When he says Affirmative Action
Is no panacea

I can’t say for certain
What is your take
But I know for a fact
It’s afforded a break
To those who otherwise
Wouldn’t receive a fair shake
And he knows it too
For heaven’s sake

It was love and kisses
When they walked down the aisle
They haven’t had those
Precious moments in a while
He once was captivated
By her innocence and smile
A smile in time
His actions would defile

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
She needs to leave him
For the children’s sake

When does it reach the point
Where enough is enough
How long is she supposed to
Put up with his stuff
She does it for the children
But they’re a poor excuse
For her to keep on
Toler-ating his abuse

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
She needs to leave him
For the children’s sake

Let me say this
To be perfectly clear
He may dominate her
Through the use of fear
But there will come a time
When she will disappear
No matter what it takes
She’s getting out of there

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
She needs to leave him
For the children’s sake

It may take some
Longer than some others
But here’s a warning
For all you guilty brothers
They’re someone’s daughter,
Sister and also mothers
Who may end up burying you
Once they gain the courage

Ya see it’s too much
For any woman to take
Don’t have her grieve you
For the children’s sake

Because they’re so tootie fruity
Unlike the Blowfish and Hootie
They continue to shirk their duty
By kissing the President’s *****
They adhere to their oaths so sparsely
That history will judge them harshly
Like a dinner consisting of only parsley
Their offices are like a farce, see

How do they sleep with themselves
While acting like Santa Claus elves
Their courage is left on their shelves
While the President plays the twelves
Which used to be known as the dozens
They act as if they’re his first cousins
A Christ like figure he wasn’t
Because forgive is something he doesn’t

Have they forgotten how to stand tall?
For the President they’ll take the fall?
Don’t they hear the clarion call?
Guess they have no shame at all!
With a President that overreaches
The Constitution beseeches
A Congress that impeaches
For the lesson that it teaches

He’s been an errant tap dancer
Who’s metastasized like some kind of cancer
So impeachment was the only answer
Why should we take a chance, er
And just let him have his say
Like what is the law anyway
So what he did wasn't okay
But even still he holds sway

You say that God's a trinity,
So why aren't you convincing me?
If what you say is truth,
Then please show me your proof
Where in the Bible does it say,
He's three-in-one anyway,
That equation can't be done,
Cause three cannot go into one
I'm not tryin to pick a fight,
I'm tryin to set the record right
If He's father, son and holy ghost,
Which of the three is senior most
Can you tell me who's in charge?
And whose ego needs a massage,
It's a lie that you've been told,
Cos surely one would take control,
See God is free of what you claim,
He's only one in fact and name

Troubled song bird
With a broken wing
Lucky for her
She can still sing
Walking contradiction
But then here’s the thing
She has an affliction
With an old familiar ring

Troubled song bird
Time and time again
You seem to wind up
At the place where you begin
Got to change the cycle
And let the madness end
Take this sound advice
It’s coming from a friend

Troubled song bird
You don’t have to be
Has the thought occurred?
It should be plain to see
You’re in your own way
Too much of the time
And that’s just to say
With no reason or a rhyme

Troubled song bird
Time will heal your wing
Don’t cha know that time
Heals almost anything
So hold you head up high
It’s time to flap your wings
And head for the sky
‘Cuz you were made to fly

Cigarettes coffee and my radio
An egg fried over easy
On wheat toast to go
Before I face the morning rush
The fender benders and the crush
Of traffic patterns gone quite bad
And people who appear quite mad

Now you can say what you will
But it takes patience and some skill
To ride the highways of this land
I wonder if you understand

I’m on the road from dawn to dusk
And sometimes there’s the smell of must
Underneath my arms from sweat
But I’m still driving
Ain’t stopped yet
So pardon me if I’m defensive
About the fact I smell offensive

Now you can say what you will
But it takes patience and some skill
To ride the highways of this land
I wonder if you understand

One day I know I’ll pack it in
And talk about places I’ve been
And all the things that I’ve seen
From Seattle to Abilene
But right now I’m on the move
It’s time for me to show and prove

Now you can say what you will
But it takes patience and some skill
To ride the highways of this land
I wonder if you understand

TRUMP/Pence
Really doesn’t make sense
Except to those who will go
To any lengths
To show the rest of us
How they can be dense
For being supporters
Of TRUMP/Pence

TRUMP/Pence
Is their ticket, and hence,
The Republicans
Are lacking suspense
You won’t find them
Sitting on a fence
Or spewing words
That they tend to mince

TRUMP/Pence
Giuliani’s their defense
But the government
Isn’t sparing any expense
To insure that they both
Get a sentence immense
Something that’s fitting
For TRUMP/Pence

TRUMP/Pence
Been the odd couple since
2016  therefore, and hence
No doubt it will all come out
In the rinse
Cuz the government is clearly
On the offense
So let’s allow the battle to commence

Trump’s a trip
He’s flipped the script
Which isn’t hip
But let him rip
He portrays the squad as racist
Without a logical basis
Which happens to be what the case is
‘Cuz the things that he says are tasteless

Trump’s a trip
Historically a blip
Like his latest quip
Or receiving a pink slip
On a sinking ship
Once you get a grip
You’re better equipped
To accept the postscript

Trump’s a trip
Who’s bound to slip
Be forced to take a dip
At a faster clip
Than a falling space ship
Or an apprenticeship
Where you’re routinely gypped
Because the script is flipped

Trump’s a trip
Like a critical grade skipped
A waiter not tipped
Or a plagiarized script
A prisoner who’s stripped
The keeper of the crypt
A witness that’s flipped
Or a diamond that’s chipped

Truth is clear from error
Could the message be any clearer?
If he held up a mirror
And saw that his karma is nearer
When is he gonna realize
That an image built on his lies
Is impossible to forever disguise
Despite how hard he tries

Truth is clear from error
To those who know him he ‘s a terror
Woe to the bad news bearer
As well as to the truth sharer
He has an intellect
That must be described as suspect
He’s inarticulate, I’ve checked
And our foreign  policy he’s wrecked

Truth is clear from error
He’s a predicate truth impairer
But a genius if he’s the sharer
Though he couldn’t be any squarer
He’s been revealed in a book
And nothing’s been overlooked
Hundreds of interviews it took
But now they say that he’s shook

Truth is clear from error
Yet, they call him their standard bearer
That philanderer and **** star ensnarer
Who’s a secret Depends wearer
Now it makes perfect sense
Why there’s so much internal suspense
Surrounding so many events
Like his verbal incontinence

I don’t rightly know
What there is to say
About truth, justice
And the American way
Except it’s never
Fully been on display
Ask the indigenous people
Who are here today

Ask ‘em about the treaties
That were never kept
And the opportunities that
They might have had, but slept
To insure that their land
Was fully swept
Of those invading varmints
They learned to regret

Truth, justice and
The American way
The Superman announcer
Used to say
Before we started chasing
Immigrants away
Or we started treating greed
Like it was okay

God blessed America
With a gift
But the American dream
Is becoming a myth
And what the rich have
Can be taken away swift
If the people of this country
Keep getting stiffed

Speak truth to power
Make your voice heard
Especially when your silence
Might be what's preferred
Truth crushed to earth
Will one day rise again
And those who are now in  power
Won't be in the end

Speak truth to power
And don't be afraid
Of what can happen
Once that choice is made
God is on the side
Of those who persevere
And in the face of struggle
Show patience not despair

Speak truth to power
Because the truth needs to be heard
Each and every syllable
Comprising every word
People need to hear the truth
Every now and then
It becomes so critical
That the truth gets in

I often ask myself why
Did Tupac and Biggie havta die?
Or when it comes to either guy
Did the law oƒ karma apply?
Time has long since evolved
And neither ****** has been solved
So no one can be absolved
Of not having been involved

Tupac and Biggie are history
But they’re an ongoing mystery
Though their relationship was blistery
They’re not worthy of a consistory
But many of us still morn
The fact that they both are gone
And though our hearts are torn
We’ve been forced to just move on

Tupac and Biggie were friends
Who came to bitter ends
Both were guilty of their own sins
And they fell like candlepins
They were masters of the rap game
Who one time or another lit the flame
That’s not to say they were the same
But they both achieved their own acclaim

Tupac and Biggie waged a war
The likes of which we’d never seen before
Between the West and East coasts for sure
But one that we couldn’t ignore
Both met tragic ends
When they became erstwhile friends
And battled like shirts and skins
In a contest in which no one side wins

Twenty-seven mass murders
In two thousand and sixteen
You think the gun lobby gives a cares
To them that’s peachy keen
All it takes is a little money
To wipe the slate completely clean
Delivered to the right politicians
All of which are known to like green

Two months into the new-year
And mass mayhem’s also in
It’s a tragic game of loss
In which all of us have some skin
  Nobody gives a **** anymore
That ****** is a major sin
And limiting the amount of guns out there
Ain’t even about to begin

Gun lovers might want to know
What the hell’s the fuss
The Second Amendment after all
Belongs to everyone of us
But the wholesale loss of life
Only makes me wanna stomp and cuss
And I can’t for the life of me
Understand how automatic weapons are a plus

Twenty-seven mass murders thus far
How many more are to come
Will we pass the bar set last year
The thought alone leave me numb
And I can’t tell you how badly
They irk me when they just play dumb
Who’s keeping the score today
And tell me what’s the running sum

Two thousand, nine hundred
And seventy-five
Proud Puerto Rican people
Lost their lives
In the aftermath of Maria
Help slowly arrives
And Donald Trump’s arrogance
Is all that survives

When the island’s electricity
Was all but gone
FEMA was much too slow
To respond
And President Trump
Did little more than to yawn
When they started losing hope
And became forlorn

Finally, he was forced
To go down
To ascertain what was happening
On the ground
Though mass confusion is
All that he found
He started throwing paper towels
All around

Never the less take a guess
What he assessed
According to him
FEMA was doing their very best
To get the island back up
On its feet
Despite a different picture
In the street

He was an Uber driver
From Kalamazoo
Who went on a rampage
But who knew
It was something
That an Uber driver would do
Even one who apparently
Was missing a *****

He dropped off a group
In record time
Which conveniently left him
Next door to the crime
Where sadly he was about to
Lose his mind
As police investigators
Were forced to find

Six in total
Were about to die
And no one’s figured out
The reason why
He would shoot perfect strangers
Bye and bye
But he certainly did
And that’s no lie

Now the crazed driver
Is in custody
Why did he do it
I don’t know (search me)
It was so inexplicable
That it’s hard to see
His rational or reasoning
Which would be key

From the mouth
Of “Uncle Ben”
Who believes the press
Wants to do him in
His words are twisted
And that’s a sin
Like Muslims need not
Apply who can

He’s come under
Relentless attack
Could that be
Because he’s black
He thinks so
As a  matter of fact
Cos he don’t act
Like he’s black

He says he’s black
And also free
To tell the truth
To you and me
So why should he
Be PC
To avoid making
An enemy

He just wants
To take the country back
From people who
Like him are black
At least that’s
How he chooses to act
Regardless of how
He’s attacked

Uncle Ben
Ain’t gonna win
But white folks continue
To humor him
He’s now ahead
In all the polls
Like others before him
Who’ve sold their souls

Uncle Ben
Had a violent past
He’d have us believe
That he’s cured at last
But the media said
Not so fast
No one remembers him
As a **** alas

Uncle Ben
Was good with his hands
And could do all the things
That intricate surgery demands
But the dark side
That he's tried to project
No one can remember
And so he's suspect

Uncle Ben
As a matter of fact
Hasn't a rabbit's *** idea
How to reach fellow blacks
Let me give him a hint
Not with a rap that is wack
Because all that demonstrates
Is that he lacks tact

Cedric McClester, Copyright © 2015.  All rights reserved.
Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson launched a pathetic rap commercial on black radio  that was geared to attract black voters.  Not only was the rap anemic but it was also insulting to a black electorate that traditionally votes Democrat with out the dumb down appeal that people in Dr. Carson's camp felt best would appeal to blacks, which they obviously view in stereo-typical terms.

Between Uncle Clarence and
Wife Jenny
Integrity they haven’t
Any
But nerve they have
A plenty
See neither one of them
Are worth a penny

Between Uncle Clarence and
His errant spouse
Which one is running
Their house?
And  who’s quiet
As a church mouse?
The same one who’ll
Never grouse

Between Uncle Clarence
And his wedded mate
There’s a bond of love
And lot of self-hate
That’s easy to
Calculate
By the one who carries
The most weight

Between Uncle Clarence
And his beloved
It had long ago been
Discovered
That one of ‘em was
Totally smothered
Underneath the dark wings of
A buzzard.

Son of a gun
Look what he done, done
He’s your average ****
That is crazy as a loon
Let’s call him what he really is
A gadamn cartoon

Uncle Tom’s son
Who’s on the ballot to run
Met with the devil’s son-in-law
Who he has keeping score
Like he’s done before
Now he’s no longer hiding
He’s out to hurt Biden
By hoping that he’ll slide in

Uncle Tom’s son
Has followers by the ton
And though he’s quite absurd
They follow his every word
He’s a proven chump
Who’s now helping Donald Trump
And he would kiss his ****
If Trump told him to jump

Uncle Tom’s son
Mouth like a Gatlin gun
That he shoots off for fun
And he’s had a long run
But he’s playing himself now
He’s willing to scrape and bow
And I’m asking you for what?
Another avowed nut!

Uncomfortable days
And sleepless nights
He eats their souls
In tiny bites
While promoting the
Supremacy of whites
The kind of controversy
In which he delights

They find themselves
Acquiescing
To various things
That he’s addressing
It takes a while for them
To learn their lesson
After they’ve become
One of his possessions

In good time
No one denies
Everything he touches
Eventually dies
Or becomes someone
For him to despise
With reputations tattered
Otherwise

If he’s not Satan,
Who is he then?
A corrupter
Of women and of men
Who swallows their souls
Like only he can
Which his victims
Eventually understand

Oh I remain undaunted
Though you’re beautiful and flaunt it
You know how bad I want it
Yes you do, you do. you do!
Like someone who is haunted
Baby I’ll run the gauntlet
You know how bad I want it
Yes you do, you do. you do!

You know that you amaze me
You got me going crazy
Only your love can save me
So save me baby

And girl I think you’re learning
How desperately determined
And dedicated to earning
All your love, your love, your love
The pendulum is turning
You feel how much I’m yearning
Of course this is concerning
All your love, your love, your love

You know that you amaze me
You got me going crazy
Only your love can save me
So save me baby

I hold my head up high
Cuz I’m undaunted (here’s why)
At least I have to try
To get your love (no lie)
And I’ll have it bye and bye
Bye and bye (bye and bye)

I know that you’re discerning
And you know that I’m yearning
For your love girl I’m burning
With desire I’m on fire
My heart is so attached
Oh baby you’re the match
An itch I just can’t scratch
Deep beneath my skin my skin my skin

You know that you amaze me
You got me going crazy
Only your love can save me
So save me baby

Oh I remain undaunted
Though you’re beautiful and flaunt it
You know how bad I want it
Yes you do, you do. you do!
Like someone who is haunted
Baby I’ll run the gauntlet
You know how bad I want it
Yes you do, you do. you do!

Under the AHCA
Once it gets unstuck
Wise people say
The poor get ******
In the usual way
But the president says
We’re gonna be okay
Because he’s the prez

We’re being sold ****
Like it was Shinola
The rich will be okay
The poor - like I told ya
As they point the way
We’re gonna need a shoulder
For us to cry on
As they move that boulder

If they repeal Obamacare
With no concern
How the sick will fare
I’m warning them
They better beware
Cos’ we’re gonna rise up
And give ‘em
Quite a scare

As I write this
They’re counting votes
If they make it
According to the quotes
They have to know
They’ll be rockin’ boats
And taking on water
Until nothing floats

He held her down
Against her will
And covered her mouth
So her voice was stilled
A classic case
As it’s been billed
Of ****** assault
Now the truth’s been spilled

What’s done under cover
Of the night
In the depth of darkness
Comes out in the light
Of the day
To set things right
When the victim
Chooses to stand and fight

She’s putting everything
At risk
Because it was important
That she do this
Rather than remain
In the abyss
Which would make her complicit
And remiss

In this era of
ME TOO
You’ve gotta be careful
What you do
You may find that your past sins
Might accrue
To expose some things
Few others knew

It was an undocumented immigrant,
There’s no doubt,
Who killed that missing girl
On her running route.
Makes you wanna holler,
Makes you wanna shout!
We gotta throw
Thoses brown skin ******* out!

It’s a **** shame,
That he chose to ****.
Those who hate immigrants,
Now always will.
For them all it does
Is add more grist to the mill
And now all those haters
Will not be still

For them it doesn’t seem
To be outta order,
To separate brown families
Who cross the border.
Place their babies in cages,
And make their time here shorter
We’re becoming
The world’s number one transporter

He’s already incorporated it,
In his speech.
It’s tailor made for the hate
He likes to teach
To the limited audience
Within his reach
Who cling to him
Like sand does to a beach

Moses went
To the mountain top
Seeking a word from God
That he might drop
On his people
So they might stop
The wayward ways
They had chosen to adopt

When he came down
What did he find?
They had gone
And lost their mind
Which made him angry
When he did find
A golden calf
Which crossed the line

Now fast forward
It’s today
A golden image
Points the way
For pseudo conservative
Who are okay
With worshiping Trump
Although most say

They call themselves
Evangelical
But they’re hypocrites
Who are unethical
They worship the devil
Incarnate
And that will be
To their regret

UNCLE CLARENCE
By: Cedric McClester

Between Uncle Clarence and
Wife Jenny
Integrity they haven’t
Any
But nerve they have
A plenty
See neither one of them
Are worth a penny

Between Uncle Clarence and
His errant spouse
Which one is running
Their house?
And  who’s quiet
As a church mouse?
The same one who’ll
Never grouse

Between Uncle Clarence
And his wedded mate
There’s a bond of love
And lot of self-hate
That’s easy to
Calculate
By the one who carries
The most weight

Between Uncle Clarence
And his beloved
It had long ago been
Discovered
That one of ‘em was
Totally smothered
Underneath the dark wings of
A buzzard.

When they’re feeling hollow
In self-pity some will wallow
While drowning in their sorrow
It’s a hard pill to swallow
So when I’m feeling down
Here’s what I have found
I pick myself up off the ground
And I go another round

Though it might seem inviting
To go out without fighting
Even if I’m struck by lightning
I find that notion frightening
So I seek the inner fortitude
That helps me to conclude
I need to change my mood
And that’s the vibe that I exude

It ain’t always coffee and cream
Sometimes I wanna scream
Like I’m having a bad dream
When I’m parting at my seam
But like a nagging cough
I’ve learned how to shake it off
Cuz it gets me aloof
Even if it makes some scoff

When a sour mood
Find a way, to intrude
Like a person who is rude
I can’t help but to conclude
Upon careful reflection
That it’s time for a correction
Or, to seek a new direction
In my quest to find perfection

Sarah sold her body
So  she could get a fix
Though she died a little
Each time she turned a trick
Then one day she vanished
Into the thin air
Just another missing *******
And no one seemed to care
She was not the only one
Who disappeared that way
There were lots of others
According to what they say
Lost among the missing
But what nobody knew
Was the individual agony
That each of them went through
Think of all the Sarahs
Who slip through the cracks
The ones we rarely hear about
Yet are no less of a fact

Vlad “The Destroyer
Is wreaking havoc
On Ukraine’s foyer
As a bomb and missle
Deployer
And an international
Annoyer
And a grave digger’s employer

Vlad “The Destroyer”
Couldn’t be coyer
Than an unemployed lawyer
Who’s labeled a ******
And a force majeurer
In an unnecessary war
Of his own undertaking
And his own making

Vlad “The Destroyer’s”
Inhumanity and insanity
is there for all to see
And what’s also key
Is no mystery
Cos it doesn’t have to be
Shaping modern history
That’s gotten blistery

Vlad “The Destroyer”
I’ll always insists
Has to be
Some kind of narcissist
So as he evaporates
Into the mist
Guess whos ***
He can kiss?

To achieve your ambition
Stop hoping and wishing
Voting is a mission
It’s like going fishing
No fish will you find
If you don’t cast your line
So drop your remote
And go out and vote

Your candidate
Might not win the debate
But let me clearly state
If you don’t participate
Then you abdicate
By not voting your choice
You lose your voice
And can never rejoice

Democracy demands
Having all hands
Both critics and fans
Despite their brands
Being involved
To get their problems solved
Things tend to revolve
So we’ll be absolved

Voting is a right
We could lose over night
Unless we unite
Stop being uptight
And stay engage in the fight
For which people died
Payed in blood or their hide
To not be denied

He’s just waiting
For the moment to pass
When the media
No longer asks
Where’s his proof
Cos there has been none alas
Of the wire tap
He tweeted about so fast

Though the office he holds
Couldn’t be much higher
Both his hair and his pants
Are clearly on fire
The man in essence is
A pathological liar
Who ****** himself out
To the highest buyer

Everyday we seem to get
A brand new lesson
And ya can’t get him
To answer a question
So his deafening silence
Just keeps us guessing
To the point where
We’re now all obsessing

So he’s waiting
For the moment to pass
While showing the world
His uncovered ***
And very early in the morning
There’s a twitter blast
Of innuendoes and lies
That his internet casts

Once again my dear,
I’m here projecting
Warm thoughts of you
Sent in your direction
I do it all the time
I must confess
You stay on my mind
Because I’m blessed

I’m blessed to have
You inside my life
And I’m blessed
To have you for a wife
My love for you
Gets stronger everyday
And I love you more
Than I did yesterday

I love you sweetly
And I love you tender
I am yours completely
Baby I surrender
Warm thoughts are
What you engender
I love you
In all of your splendor

Warm thoughts of you
Are all I ever have
It’s non-stop
According to my math
You make me happy
And you make me laugh
I’m so glad
That you crossed my path

Was it something I said?
That made you go ahead
And finally release the aide
That should have been paid
To the people of Puerto Rico
Don’t pretend you’re an amigo
When you know you haven’t been
Like all the President’s men

Was it something I said?
Or what i’ve written that you’ve read?
That reversed your position instead
Now the matter’s been put to bed
All I can say is it’s about time
What you were doing was a crime
You were walking a thin line
I still think you should get a fine

With the naked eye you could see
The suffering and misery
It wasn’t like brain surgery
Still you chose to let them be
I know what you’ll probably say
Does it matter now anyway?
Because it’s all gonna be okay
Tomorrow is a brighter day

Though at times you can be clever
Please don’t tell me better late than never
When we were left wondering if ever
You would finally pull the cash lever
So let me try to keep it real
Now Puerto Rico can start to heal
And probably have a decent meal
Now that you’ve made the big reveal

I admit at times
I do get angry
And lose my temper
But there’s no need to hang me
You’ve lost yours
A time or two before
And said some things
That I chose to ignore

Was it sumthin’ I said
That got in your head
Well put that to bed
Cuz it was misread
If it was lacking in charm
It was a false alarm
I didn’t mean no harm
Cuz baby you’re the bomb

It ain’t always gonna be
Smooth sailing
But that doesn’t mean
Our relationship is failing
We have to take the bitter
With the sweet
Girl I love you
And so let me repeat

Love’s a maze
Of pathways and confusion
But don’t let that bring you to
The wrong conclusion
It’s worth all the effort
We put in
And so that begs the question
Once again

Was it the jagged pill
That scratched her throat?
And inspired
The angry lyrics she wrote
Highlighted by
Each and every note
Aimed at getting
Her ex-boyfriend’s goat

Was it the line
About her in a theatre
That reminded him how
He used to eat her
Or more to the point
How he used to treat her
When he has to know
He should have been sweeter

She said to herself,
“I should fight back,
I need to launch,
A frontal attack.”
There’s not one word
That I would retract
Even though I know
We’ve faded to black

She wants him to know
She hopes he’s content
Strange as it may seem
That was her sentiment
Laced with raw anger
Hoping he’d catch the hint
And understand all
That he had meant

Didn’t the thought
Ever occur
That we always knew
Who they really were ?
A leopard doesn’t
Change it’s spots
Nor are its spots
Confused for dots

Didn’t we know
What they’d do
With hegemony
Over me and you?
Roe v Wade
Was the biggest clue
And now they’ve dropped
The other shoe

We voted for the conservative lot
So now we’ve got
What we’ve got
I’m asking you, have we not?
It’s much too late now
For getting hot
Or suggesting
It was all a gigantic plot

I believe women
Should have the right
Not to go gently
Into that bad night
Instead I believe
That they should fight
As opposed to simply
Being uptight

You blame it on Obama
We blame it on your mama
She had you long before
You’re rotten to the core
And I could say much more
You have the kind of insanity
That’s lacking in humanity
Which makes us ask why can’t we see?

Your tender age facilities
Devoid of most utilities
To test our sensibilities
Because of your hostilities
You’re exposing vulnerabilities
But there’s a special place in hell
Where individuals like you dwell
Along with Satan who also fell

Babies ripped away from mothers
Separated from sisters and brothers
Lying beneath Mylar covers
Who are treated unlike others
What’s become of Uncle Sam
Does anybody give a ****?
How we now are being viewed
All because of one sick dude

A new kind of Helter-Skelter
Where babies freeze or they swelter
How can they call it a shelter?
Is he a heavyweight or a welter?
His euphemisms serve to enrage
Are they babies, or “tender age”?
And why are they locked inside a cage?
Can we ever turn the page?

We can believe
That he has a need
To prosper and succeed
So we should follow his lead
And judge him by his deeds
Not his inner circle choices
That’s causing panic
And raised voices

We can believe
What we couldn’t conceive
On the election eve
Now that he’s achieved
Pulling the rabbit out his sleeve
Now comes the reaction
On the nation’s streets
From the various factions

We can believe
Even those who are peeved
There’s no cause yet to grieve
But let’s not be naïve
And say we’ve been deceived
When we know that it’s a weave
On his head
You best believe

We can believe
That he’ll get the heave
On new year’s eve
Without the reprieve
He expects to receive
If he doesn’t deliver
The things that he said
Then his presidency
Will be all but dead

I believe hope springs eternal
With faith measured by the kernel
We can get past this infernal
If we get cooking with some Sterno
Can we turn it all around
When we commit to get down
All kinds of solutions can be found
So I’ll continue to expound

We can over come they sang
While shooters went bang bang bang
But not from the members of a gang
Out of the darkness from which they sprang
So I’ll remain an optimist
Not just a complainant who ***** his fist
I know that ignorance is bliss
But at all costs that’s what we must resist

If there’s a need for a paradigm
James Baldwin called it the fire next time
While city officials called it a crime
We can’t repeat it time after time
But I’m encouraged by what I see
From the populace and the powers that be
I don’t know if that’s just me
Cos I see a positive destiny

The commentator called for peace and calm
While the Nation of Islam called an alarm
And members of the clergy said do no harm
Let’s march in protest arm and arm
I know that we can find a better way
Than the tragic displays of yesterday
Because everybody’s gonna have their say
See I believe in time it’s gonna be okay
