Is it safe
For us to assume,
That something happened
Inside that room?
Which has prompter her
To come out and say
How he forcefully
Tried to have his way

Is it safe
For us to assume,
That her detractors
Will attempt to resume,
Getting on
With the vote anyway,
Regardless of
What she has to say?

Is it safe
For us to assume
It will be swept
Away like a broom?
Will her allegations
Receive credence,
In light of the
Hearing’s impedance?

Is it safe
For us to assume,
He’ll count the votes
In the back room,
Before deciding
How to proceed?
In keeping with
His conservative creed

It’s a game of semantics
About Islam and phobia
And despite your antics
I’ve decided on disrobing ya
Islam ain’t the enemy
That you make it out to be
Why use so much energy
Trying to make me agree

Islamic terrorism
Is a contradictory term
Islam stands for peace
As over a billion Muslims
Confirm
Don’t  judge ‘em by the deviants
Who’ve strayed far from the path
What about the vast majority do the math

Why do you insist I say it
Like there’s power in the words
When I will never okay it
Because of what it undergirds
Islam ain’t the enemy
But if you try hard enough
You could really make it be
Everything that you prescribe
Like a self-fulfilling prophecy

Why the need to demonize
People you don’t understand
I think that you’d be well-advised
To deviate from your plan
You’re sowing seeds of discord
Every chance you get
And people who should know better
Are caught up in your net

Islam is
The religion of peace
If you don’t believe me
Ask Abdul-Aziz
Or those down with ISIS
In the Middle East
Who chop off heads
Like savage beasts

Islam is
The religion of peace
So why is jihad
On the increase
All over the globe
North south west and east
Can someone explain it
In the very least

Islam is
The religion of peace
But the irony is
The violence
Doesn’t cease
In the places it’s practiced
It seems to increase
Maybe they need to be better policed

Islam is
The religion of peace
That’s what they tell us
I’m not adding yeast
But it’s hard to believe
The way they seem to feast
On violence and bloodshed
Which hasn’t decreased

Isn’t it odd
That he’d claim fraud
When he should be awed
By how Biden clawed
His way to the top?
While his own numbers dropped
Facts can’t be denied
Biden won by a landslide

Isn’t it strange
How things suddenly changed
And Trump acted deranged
When he felt shortchanged
He was practically broken
After the people had spoken
And was seeking a token
From among his outspoken

Even Mitch McConnell
As Burger King’s Ronald
Played Old McDonald
While tryna coddle
A despot gone mad
Who’s lost what he had
When the market went bad
His ending was sad

Now it couldn’t be clearer
We’re entering a new era
One more sincerer
Than Trump’s broken mirror
It’s time we move on
From a past that is gone
Cuz as sure as you’re born
A new era has dawned

Isn’t it pathetic
That they’re unapologetic
As a general aesthetic
Yet we see them wax poetic
So we witness them rise
While democracy dies
Like the crow flies
Right before our eyes?

Isn’t it a **** shame
That in their party’s name
They seek ill-gotten gain
By making voting rights wane
Despite the suffering and pain?
They still will not refrain
From electioneering in the main
Which they have made plain

Isn’t it ridiculous
How they’ve become meticulous
At attacking the ventriculus
Of what used to exist
As a basic right
That was clear from
Day and night
Despite our struggle and fight?

Isn’t it passing curious
Not enough of us are furious
And that’s become injurious
In addition to being spurious?
But like Walt Disney’s elves
That’s where we find ourselves
Just like in the past
We’re bogged in their morass

Israel is our ally,
Not our 51st state
But you might think it is
As highly as it rates
It’s one nation, among many
In the Middle East
Although it’s highly favored
To say the very least

It’s a bully tactic
That truly is pathetic
Criticize Israel
And you’re labeled anit-Semetic
Semites can be found
Throughout the Middle East
It’s not limited to them
Though they have added yeast

But we’re made to believe it is
By supporters of the Jewish State
So those who are critical of them
Are accused of blatant hate
But there’s plenty to criticize
If you care to debate
Though the label you’ll be given
Gives it added weight

Some view Israel as she is
With blemishes and all
And others hide her imperfections
While praying at the Wall
Though constructive criticism
Just might be the cure
For everything that ails her
And causes her endless war

Is this the America
That the founders had in mind?
When America was founded
What was their design?
Did they mean for us
To become resigned,
To the internecine warfare,
That today we find?

Is this the America
That the founders had in mind?
When they came together
So they could redefine
The autocratic government
That had them in a bind
From which they did their best
To unravel and unwind

Is this the America
That the founders had in mind?
And did they foresee,
Our present day decline?
And if they did,
Would they be benign?
Or would they insist
That we get back in line

Is this the America
That the founders had in mind?
When a despotic president ,
Chose to cross the line?
By casting false aspersions
On opponents thus defined
And giving the red meat
To those similarly inclined

Do we have problems?
That’s for sure!
But, I still love
The city of Baltimore!
From the Inner Harbor
To Cockeysville.
Did I neglect to
Mention Federal Hill?

We’re known as
“A city of neighborhoods”
Where WEB DuBois
Was first understood
And Edgar Allen Poe
Showed that he could
Write a scary novel
That was very good

We’re the same city
Trump chose to malign
But perhaps that’s because
We’re one of a kind
Or maybe that’s because
He lost his mind
It’s either one, or the other
You’ll surely find

We are the city
Faults and all
Where the Baltimore Orioles
Still play baseball
And thousands of immigrants
Heeded the call
When they came to America
Summer, winter or fall

I suppose
That Rudy now knows
The wrong path he chose
Left him
As well as others exposed
To a deadly virus
That is most undesirous
As is his bias

I guess
That nevertheless
If he were to confess
He’d say that he’s blessed
With the best medical care
One can get anywhere
And if he were to share
He’s painfully aware

Covid’s no joke
Though he’s often misspoke
But now that he’s woke
And trying not to choke
From depleted lung capacity
Given his new veracity
He now has the audacity
To abandon past mendacity

Now that he knows
How deep
The rabbit hole goes
Cuz he’s taking his blows
Due to
The course that he chose
Like the emperor
He’s not wearing clothes

It doesn’t matter
With whom she snuggles
She wants our melanin
Without our struggles
She’d rather avoid
Our kinds of troubles
While she acts as if
She lives in a bubble

Because of her affinity
She wants a pass
But if she acts like the enemy
She can kiss my ***
I’ma go on Twitter
And put her on blast
If you’re listening Ms. West
The dye’s been cast

Just because she has
An enhanced derriere
Doesn’t make her black
No way no where near
So she can put as many
Earrings in her ear
But the look she’s striving for
Still won’t be there

I commend her acts
On behalf of criminal justice
While at the White House
She chose to discuss us
Resulting in pardons
Long after they bust us
But she needs to ask,
Does that make her us?

From what I’ve been able to glean
It has somehow become routine
That we constantly repeat this scene
Now it’s Oregon close to Eugene
That a gunman let his bullets fly
In a college but we don’t know why
Or what was the deal with this guy
And did those ten have to die

Don’t it seem as if we’re at war
Doesn’t that call for a change in the law
How can we continue to ignore
The voices of those who implore
Us to come to our senses
Because this is becoming expensive
In lives lost which are extensive
So why do we remain so pensive

And if I may be perfectly blunt
Who needs an assault weapon to hunt
Though Conservative will probably bunt
Ain’t it time that we finally confront
This illness that we seem to have
What will be the curative salve
Hasn’t anyone done the math
If it wasn’t so tragic I’d laugh

So tell me what’s it gonna be
Cos I’m sure that we all agree
If we don’t like the carnage we see
Somehow we have to break free
How long will we tolerate
This issue which should dictate
That we can no longer wait
As we watch the death rate inflate

I thought about you
Lately you’ve been on my mind
Never dreamed the last time that I saw you
Would be the last time
But life can throw some curve *****
I’ve come to find
Who knew that it would be you
In the casket this time

I only have fond memories
When it comes to you
I admire your capacity
To do the things you do
You always think of others
Instead of you
And when they say you’re special
That’s only because it’s true

I can hear your laughter
How it could fill a room
I remember all the joy you brought
And the smell of your perfume
You would live forever
That’s at least what I assumed
I didn’t think on the Easter weekend
You would meet your doom

I only have fond memories
When it comes to you
I admire your capacity
To do what you do
You always think of others
Instead of you
And when they say you’re special
That’s only because it’s true

If I say that I will miss you
That would understate the case
Because in my heart and mind
You occupy a special place
And my memories of you
Can never be erased

I thought about you
Lately you’ve been on my mind
Never dreamed the last time that I saw you
Would be the last time
But life can throw some curve *****
I’ve come to find
Who knew that it would be you
In the casket this time

It isn’t about Freddie Gray
According to what local residents say
It clearly goes much deeper than that
For us to find ourselves where we’re at
How did things get this far gone
And how are we going to go on
When our social fabric is clearly torn
Can we at least take pause to morn

Our legitimacy can be deleted
When acts of violence are repeated
Lawlessness needs to be defeated
Even though our grievances are deep seated
As I’ve indicated before
It doesn’t call for a state of war
The rule of law we can’t ignore
Without a doubt that is for sure

It isn’t about Freddie Gray
Nor merely ignorance as some will say
And while ignorance may come into play
It’s about more than that anyway
Is it an organize insurrection
Beyond the naked eye’s detection
Like Cointelpro at the governments direction
While real estate interests have an errection

On the same day Mr. Gray was interred
And the lines of decorum clearly blurred
The police’s non-response was absurd
Because protecting the people was deferred
So there’s enough guilt to pass around
From the mayor , city council and police on down
Now it’s gonna take decades to come around
Because the after affects are that profound
It Isn't About Freddie Gray was yet another poem inspired by the volence that erupted in the wake of Freddie Gray's funcral.

It isn’t hyperbole,
It’s a fact
He opened her up
To attack
By placing a target
On her back
And you had best
Believe that Jack!

He throws rocks
Then hides his hand
And does whatever else
He can
To incite his people
Down to the man
Who buy his *******
Understand?

Pray to God
No one gets hurt
When he gets finished
Throwing dirt
It’s not as if
They are inert
As we might hear
Him try to assert

He does his best
To divide
Now there’s nowhere
For him to hide
Or take back
The fact he lied
After they’ve been
Multiplied

It’s a 1929 rewind
“Brother can you spare a dime?”
Once again
It’s depression time
And I’ma about to
Lose my mind
Cuz there’s no job
For me to find

So blame it on
The new disease
That’s  the reason
We’re on our knees
Begging for help
Somebody please!
Cuz all we want
Is a little ease

Is that too much
For us to ask?
Hope I’m not
Gong too fast
See there’s no *****
Inside my flask
And I’m **** tired
Of wearing this mask

Wish that it would
Go away,
Open up now!
We hear ‘em say
But will that take
Covid away?
Or guarantee
That it will stay?

He was the head of state
Who’s against the mandate
But he promotes the shot that he got
And the booster too
Though before now who knew?
He’s totally divorced
From people having to be forced
To save their lives though he survives

Don’t cha think it’s kinda sad
That he bad the Covid bad
And took advantage of what
Medical science had?
Though no one forced him to
Instinctively he knew
By the medical advice
How to save his life

But when it comes to you
He says do what you want to
And should you happen to die
There’s an obvious reason why
Though the President has insisted
You’ve chose to resist it
Cos after all you’re free
To be a statistic see

And no matter what you do
It's about more than just you
Like a bad cold or the flew
You can pass Covid on too
And even if you stay alive
Others may not survive
Simply put it is unfair
If you don’t do your share.

It’s absurd!
Since when have you heard,
Of a jury in bed with the defense?
Thus nullifying the suspense
If between the two, there’s collusion
Then the verdict is a foregone conclusion
If it’s a wink and a smile,
Why go on with the trial?

Before engaging those fools
Pelosi wants to know the rules
Which is a reasonable request
Because its been related
What McConnell clearly stated
He’s coordinating with that louse
Who resides in the White House
Thus challenging Pelosi to a joust

If the jury is not impartial
No matter what evidence is marshaled
It’s clear that the deck is stacked
So why choose to get in
A battle you just can’t win
Who cares about their canards
When Pelosi’s still holding the cards
And can choose when the action starts

Senator  Mitch McConnell
Like the farmer Old McDonald
Thinks of the senate as his farm
Where he decides which seeds to sow
In order for the crops to grow
But what he harvests will be bare
Cuz there are weeds everywhere
And Pelosi’s taking his dare

It’s a disgrace
How he’ll lie
In your face
Trying to make
A case
To us and God
About
Election fraud

We know it
Doesn’t exist
Although though
He’ll insist
Despite what
He said
It’s all in
His head

No one
Realizes
People in
Disguises
Who come
In all sizes
Is where
The lie is

But he’ll
Never learn
Though he’s
Gonna burn
In the fires
Of hell
Like that angel
That fell

This ain’t another American Pie
Where the story’s protagonists happens to die
This is more a question of wondering why
Equal justice in most cases isn’t applied
Every time an unarmed victim is killed by a cop
Whose response to the circumstance is over the top
You can hear as the bullets go pop pop pop
It’s a head scratcher wondering will it ever stop

It’s a head scratcher
Why those headlines staring at cha
Always seems to catch cha
By complete surprise
It’s a mind-******
Why the public’s defender
Always seems to surrender
When it comes to those guys

Some prove the lie
By trying to apply a religion they deny
As the reason why
The innocent must die
‘Cos if they took a look
Their own Holy Book
Condemns the actions that they took
So in hell they’re gonna cook

It’s a head scratcher
Why those headlines staring at cha
Always seems to catch cha
By complete surprise
It’s a mind-******
Why the public’s defender
Always seems to surrender
When it comes to those guys

He’s guilty on all counts
Which logically amounts
If the jurors choose to pounce
To death with no discounts
He deserves to die
And it’s obvious why
If he’s gonna have to fry
It’s too late for him to cry

It’s a head scratcher
Why those headlines staring at cha
Always seems to catch cha
By complete surprise
It’s a mind-******
Why the public’s defender
Always seems to surrender
When it comes to those guys

It don’t look like he’ll escape this
He’ll forever be known as a ******
He’s lucky that they didn’t tape it
Which is why he continues to fake it
Now it looks like he’s going down
Even Whoopi had to come around
‘Cos the evidence is so profound
It’s enough to make a swimmer drown

Once known as America’s dad
He’s lost the reputation that he had
And the whole situation is sad
Now that the good is overshadowed by the bad
‘Cos despite a family and a lovely wife
He chose to live a more risqué life
Guess he loved an element of strife
And the examples are clearly rife

It’s a never ending parade
Of the various women he’s laid
Did I mention they never got paid
Despite all the money he’s made
An unapologetic *** offender
Made ‘em feel like they were on a ******
After drugging them into surrender
Then sexing them rough or tender

Now that his reputation is in tatters
Hope he’s discovered what really matters
More than the accolades that only flatters
His ego as his friends and fans scatter
Seen him lately he’s looking so old
How many more times will the story be told
See it doesn’t seem to be getting cold
Looks like his tent is about to fold

He ain’t that funny anymore
‘Cos he’s rotten right to the core
And past supporters aren’t even sure
He’s not guilty like they were before
They used to be so confident
But they no longer share that sentiment
See they wonder where the luster went
They understand that the women weren’t sent

I’d tell you, if I knew
What the future holds
But I don’t have a clue
As to what our children
Can look forward to
When truthfully speaking
Their prospects are blue
Think about for a minute, false or true?

Is there a reason
For us to fear?
When we don’t know
Where we’re going from here
And the future’s opaque
But what’s very clear, is
It’s  a new decade
And a brand new year

If we can’t depend on those
Whom we entrust
To protect our interests
What’s that say for us?
When they defer to one man
Our Constitution rusts
Because it’s kept on a shelf
To collect dust

You see by nature
I’m a hopeless optimist
So I hope despite my pessimism
Your getting this
But every time I think about it
I get ******
See I want to rise up
So I can resist

But I’ll climb it anyway
Hoping I might make it
To the top one day
It’s a steep hill to climb
But I’m in for the long haul
I’m heading for the top
Even if I have to crawl

It’s a steep hill to climb
But I’m climbing every inch
I won’t be sidelined
I’m not sitting on a bench

It’s a steep hill to climb
There ain’t no doubt
But there’s a way to the top
That I’ve figured out
It’s a steep hill to climb
Yet I’m not discouraged
All it takes on my part
Is a little courage

It’s a steep hill to climb
But I’m climbing every inch
I won’t be sidelined
I’m not sitting on a bench
It’s a steep hill to climb
But I’m not dropping out
Getting to the top
Is what I’m all about

It’s a steep hill to climb
But don’t expect me to be gone
I’m too ****** determined
Not to carry on
It’s a steep hill to climb
But I have to do it

And you and I both knew it

It’s a witch hunt
Donald Trump insists
But listen closely
And then dig this
You don’t hunt witches
Where none exists
Despite the President’s anger
And him balling his fist

It’s a witch hunt
You’ll hear him shout
At various rallies
But there is no doubt
He runs the coven
And they’re all about
In his administration
As well as out

It’s a witch hunt,
That Mueller probe
But Trump lacks the patience
Shown by a Job
The investigation
Stays on his frontal lobe
And he appears naked
Without a bathrobe

It’s a witch hunt
And Mueller’s caught witches
He’s indicted dozens
Of those sons-of-*******
The president needs to
Be kicked in his breeches
Because the emoluments
Adds to his riches

You know it’s cra
When the NRA
Finds the need to weigh
In on guns today
And they choose to say
That it’s a-okay
For terrorists
To fill their shopping lists

And we don’t hear
From Wayne Lapierre
Who doesn’t seem to care
Or may be unaware
About the things we fear
Despite the salient facts
And Paris attacks
That’s the way he acts

Second Amendment rights
To put out our lights
Has us in their sights
And clearly highlights
Why we have sleepless nights
Despite the gun debates
We’ll do what it takes
To put on their brakes

It’s insanity
If you’re asking me
It should be clear to see
Why there needs to be
Some sort of prohibition
To tamper their ambition
Why give them permission
To get what they’ve been wishing

Let’s not go to bed
Angry anymore
How ‘bout we call a truce
To this internecine war
It’s just like I said
A time or two before
Get it out your head
And learn how to ignore

We get so emotional
In the heat of an argument
Attempting to prove our point
But wasted time is spent
Going back and forth
When neither will relent
Often we say things
We know we never meant

Let’s not let our anger
Get the best of us
We need to learn how
To let go and to trust
It will all work out
In the course of time
It don’t make no sense
For us to lose our minds

Let’s not go to bed
Angry anymore
How ‘bout we call a truce
To this internecine war
It’s just like I said
A time or two before
Get it out your head
And learn how to ignore

The insults encased
In a reality TV veneer

It’s hard as hell
To commit suicide
I know it for a fact
Lord knows I tried
My wife left me
And my dog died
I loved that dog
It can’t be denied

I took a dull knife
To cut my wrist
Instead of straight up and down
I did it like this
Put the gun to my head
And pulled the trigger
But it wouldn’t go off
Now you go figure

Capsized my boat
But I didn’t drown
How was I to know
The Coast Guard was around
I tied a noose
Around my neck
But the hanging rope broke
And I hit the deck

I took a dull knife
To cut my wrist
Instead of straight up and down
I did it like this
Put the gun to my head
And pulled the trigger
But it wouldn’t go off
Now you go figure

(Bridge)
It’s hard as hell
To commit suicide
I know it for a fact
Lord knows I tried

At my lowest point
When I didn’t give a ****
It occurred to me
I might be killing the wrong man
So I put aside
All my suicidal thoughts
And untied myself
From the conjurer’s knots

I took a dull knife
And tried to cut my wrist
Instead of straight up and down
I did it like this
Put the gun to my head
And pulled the trigger
But it wouldn’t go off
Now you go figure

I must be meant
To live a long life
I survived my dog
And my missing wife
Yes there are days
Full of stress and strife
But I’ve accepted the blues
As my way of life

With all of the elements
Except that it’s real
Based on the way
That it makes you feel
And for the immigrant
That is the deal

It’s like a horror show
That has been mounted
Under the guise
Everyone should be counted
But is it wise?
Drinking from that fountain
Or turn that molehill
Into a mountain

It’s like a horror show
But we know the villain
He’s proven to be
Ready able and willing
To ignore the children
He’s tacitly killing
In the detention centers
He’s gleefully filling

It’s like a horror show
That we’ve rarely seen
The underlying factor
Is that he’s just mean
And he thinks his actions
Are peachy keen
When it’s become clear
That they’re really obscene

It’s never easy
Losing a friend
I shouldn’t be crying
But I can’t pretend
That it doesn’t hurt
Especially when
I’ll never be able
To see you again

It’s never easy
Having to grieve
I never thought about
You having to leave
All of us do
Trust and believe
And although it is true
It’s hard to conceive

But this ain’t a tale
Of woe is me
Not as long as I have
Such fond memories
Which can take me back
To our used to bes
And I’ll smile at the thought
Of those sweet memories

It’s never easy
But be that as it may
A sad fact of life
Is we all go away
And so we must treasure
Each given day
As if it’s our last
Because who's to say

It’s not about religion
But I must say
It’s of interest to me
How you pray
Do you face a qibla
Or the cross let’s say
Do you pray once in a while
Or five times a day

It’s not about religion
But it looks that way
Which is how it is interpreted
No matter what you say
Or why are certain countries
Brought into play
But countries where they came from
Are not, okay?

It’s not about religion
But Muslims are demonized
And the ugly head of racism
Has been reprised
Yet racism is racism
Under any guise
And that just shouldn’t be
Word to the wise

It’s not about religion
But that’s a lie
Despite what else is said
It’s just an alibi
Just look at what they’re doing
And it’s no wonder why
The law of retribution
Will one day apply

It’s not just the hearts
That they’re breaking
Or the MS-13s
In the making
Because of the
Family structures they’re shaking
By their Zero Tolerance
Immigration undertaking

It’s the capriciousness
Of the things that they’re doing
Not to mention the color
Of the families they’re *******
That lets us know
There’s a reckoning brewing
Because the whole world
Is in on the viewing

Men and women
Who have children
Yet their hearts are numb
Will reap the famine
That has yet to come
Who will be spared?
Not one single one
Because of the awful things that they’ve done

Is there a black market
In parentless children?
And are we complicit
In trying to fill them?
With new immigrants,
We refuse to accept
Because we’ve become
Morally bereft

It’s not the caravans
At our Southern border,
It’s the access to guns
That’s causing social disorder
If there’s a national emergency
Then it’s that, in fact
But he’s scared of the NRA
So he refuses to act

It’s not the immigrants
Who are seeking asylum
That are contributing factors
To this homegrown violence
It’s the guns that are used
With wonton abandon
That have raised our death rate
Throughout this land and

It’s not desperate people
Who happen to be brown
That are putting our citizens
Six feet underground
It’s not the hungry, or the poor
Who are responsible
For what we choose to ignore
Those are the things we need to explore

It’s not the ones
He pretends to suspect
That are the main problem
Causing this wreck
It’s the giant elephant
That’s been in the room
Who has been causing
All the gloom and doom

It’s not the doctors
Anymore
Cuz Trump’s in charge
And that’s for sure
He wants a comeback
To ignore
The actual science
He believed in before

The numbers are going
Through the roof
The hospitalizations
And deaths are the proof
He’s always been
The enemy of the truth
While Doctor Fauci
Is a coronavirus sleuth

The Faucis of this world
Rely on the data
While Trump pretends
That it doesn’t matter
It’s his turn at bat
And he’s the batter
For the American public
Nothing could be sadder

Trump thinks that he can
Talk it out of existence
We can tell by his constant insistence
That we’ve turned the corner
Because of passive resistance
Never mind the mask
And keeping social distance
Cuz we’ll have a vaccine
Long before Christmas

The choice is there for you to choose
You can win or you can lose
If you try and don’t refuse
You can overcome your blues
See I know of what I speak
There was a time that I was weak
People pointed there’s the freak
Now I’m the one whom they all seek

Not to strike a somber note
Or to idly emote
It’s alright to rock the boat
You can swim or you can float

So what if they knock you down
Get yourself up off the ground
Courage isn’t born it’s found
You just have to hang around
Don’t let them define your fate
Or subjugate you to their hate
If they try don’t take the bait
Or do what they anticipate

Not to strike a somber note
Or to idly emote
It’s alright to rock the boat
You can swim or you can float

Despite what others try to do
Don’t let them influence you
Do what you feel you must do
To yourself you must be true

Let me pause right here to state
Don’t buckle underneath their weight
Or get in a funk-like state
Don’t allow them to checkmate
Now’s the time to show and prove
Don’t let them affect your grove
You’ve got to make the next move
Confidence does tend to soothe

Not to strike a somber note
Or to idly emote
It’s alright to rock the boat
You can swim or you can float

It’s safe to say
We wouldn’t know
If not for the video
That documented
The ebb and flow
Of the ******
But even so
We have quite a way to gp

The perpetrators
Might  have escaped
If the incident
Wasn’t taped
And now it’s
Not a mystery
It’s crystal clear
For all to see

And what cannot
Be debated
Is this tragedy
Gets replicated
All across this
Troubled land
When white folks
Have the upper hand

And black lives
Are expendable
When they’re not
Defendable
Which happens
All too frequently
Although it doesn’t
Have to be

Brother we know
That you have a hotie
But we’re not interested
In her body
As her husband
Don’t you think it’s naughty
To have her show her
Breasteses and squatty

Brother let me
Try to keep it real
We don’t need to see
The body parts you feel
*** has always been
Her real appeal
But don’t you think
It’s too much to reveal

Brother if you even
Gave a ****
Then keep your girl off
Of Instagram
We send all her pictures
Straight to spam
Cuz she belongs
To another man

Brother let me
Try to keep it real
We don’t need to see
The body parts you feel
*** has always been
Her real appeal
But don’t you think
It’s too much to reveal

You should know
That there is no escape
From that legendary
****** tape
It’s not as if
She was cryin ****
So her mother
Exploited the video tape

Brother let me
Try to keep it real
We don’t need to see
The body parts you feel
*** has always been
Her real appeal
But don’t you think
It’s too much to reveal

You’ll notice
That I didn’t use her name
But tell me brother
Do y’all have any shame
I realize it’s
The reality TV game
So I’m questioning
Not placing any blame

Seems it wasn’t
That long ago
There was little
I didn’t know
Guess that just
Goes to show
It takes time
For one to grow

I’ve heard
Some people say
That Rome wasn’t
Built in a day
Youth is wasted
On the young anyway
They don’t gain knowledge
‘Til their hair turns grey

And it all makes
Perfect sense
Knowledge is gained
With experience
Which at times
Can be intense
But it all comes out
In the rinse

You could fill a book
With the things I didn’t know
Back then
Many years ago
When I couldn’t
Keep my ego in tow
And that knowledge
Came to me slow

It wasn’t the gun
It was the bullet
And the trigger finger
It took to pull it
That resulted in
Her being dead
From a bullet
Lodged inside her head

It wasn’t the gun
It was the guy
Who caused
That young girl to die
As tears form and spill
From an eye
Loved ones and friends
Wonder why

It wasn’t the gun
You might say
If you belong to
The NRA
Or you happen to be
A gun nut
You’ll end every sentence
With but…

It wasn’t the gun
That’s to blame
But what else
Would a sane person name
When today
They are everywhere
And people shoot ‘em
Like they don’t care

It will take more than
A lot of salve
To get rid of
The president that we have
For those like me
Who have done the math
It will probably require
A three-day bath

It will take more than
Than idle talk
To make this president
Take a walk
From his 30 percent
Voting bloc
Perhaps he needs
An impeachment shock

It will take more than
A tweeted zinger
Or his opposition
Pointing a finger
To take away the stench
Which will no doubt linger
Before he is placed
Inside the wringer

It will take more than
Just wishful thinking
To watch his viability
As it starts shrinking
Which isn’t the time
To begin blinking
Or prematurely
Start glass clinking

As everybody knows
It wouldn’t matter
Who he chose
As his Supreme Court nominee
Out of those
He let us see
For those who wanna know what gives?
All of them are conservatives

So say goodbye
To Roe V Wade
And other settled law
That was made
When the Court
Had a little balance
Despite the judges’
Or their talents

Be prepared to
See the past
Become the present
Because alas!
As we can see
The dye’s been cast
What’s he telling us
Is kiss his ***

A Supreme Court
In the Presidents image
Starting at
The line of scrimmage
Doesn’t matter
What’s the primmace
It’s enough to
Make you grimace

I've endured the fire and flood
Had my name dragged through the dirt and mud
I've endured more than I would
Ever imagined that I could
I've endured, I've endured
I've endured it all
Because I knew on whom to call

There were times that looked so bleak
When I needed to be strong
But was so weak
And there were times I couldn't cope
Hung by a thread to the rope
That God supplies to his allies
But even then I knew who to call
I raised His name above them all

I've endured the fire and flood
Had my name dragged through the dirt and mud
I've endured more than I would
Ever imagined that I could
I've endured, I've endured
I've endured it all
Because I knew on whom to call

Then there were those times
Of good and plenty
Of exceeding joy and blessings many
When my heart was full of gratitude
And gratefulness described my mood
Even then
I knew from whence it came
So I turned to Him and praised his name

I've endured the fire and flood
Had my name dragged through the dirt and mud
I've endured more than I would
Ever imagined that I could
I've endured, I've endured
I've endured it all
Because I knew on whom to call

I've endured the good years
And the bad
I've endured when faith
Was all I had
I've endured the abundance
And the lean
I've endured with faith
In the unseen

I've endured the fire and flood
Had my name dragged through the dirt and mud
I've endured more than I would
Ever imagined that I could
I've endured, I've endured
I've endured it all
Because I knew on whom to call

There were timesof exceeding sadness
When things looked so bad
I had no memory of the gladness
That I once had had
But God changed that condition
Just like he changed me
And placed me in position
To be healed and free

I've endured the fire and flood
Had my name dragged through the dirt and mud
I've endured more than I would
Ever imagined that I could
I've endured, I've endured
I've endured it all
Because I knew on whom to call

Seems I’ve over dosed
On politics
And cable TV
Gives me my fix
I watch it for interest
As well as for kicks
When I know that all of ‘em
Are nothing but *****

I’ve listen to pundits
‘Til I’m blue in the face
When I should have ignored them
But in any case
I get a thrill from
Watching the race
And wondering who
Will come in in first place

It shouldn’t be hard
For anyone to understand
Why I’m in bad need
Of some Narcan
Cuz I’ve overdosed
More than most man
And when I started out
That wasn’t my plan

I’m in bad need
Of a rehab
But I’ve said no, no
Doggone it dag nab
So if I’m not careful
I’ll wind up on a slab
From ODing on someone’s
Gift of gab

I wanna know
What I havta do,
To wake up one morning
And start to think like you?
What does it take?
I don’t even have a clue
How you can hate someone
Based solely on their hue

I wanna know,
Why you hate immigrants
Like your in-laws and mother
I musta missed the hints
Or is it just the others
That provoke those sentiments
Shared by like-minded brothers
Vice President Mike Pence

I wanna know
How family separation
Serves the best interests
Of this nation
Which rapidly is losing
It’s reserve and patience
With your blatant animus
And wink and nod complacence

I wanna know
What depth has to be reached
Before everyone understands
Why you should be impeached
Especially when one considers
That decorum has been breached
Like the children locked in cages
What lesson does that teach?

“I wonder how many me,s there are?
Said the alleged victim, who bares the scar
Left by a child molester who passed the bar
Upon his denial, so there you are
She’s quite convinced that she’s not alone,
Not the only underage one that he has known
Now that it’s out that it’s out there
His cover is blown

I wonder how many me,s there might be
That have yet to come forward, guess we’ll have to see
Because refreshingly, women seem to be free
To speak truth to power no matter who it might be
They’re coming out in droves, one after another
And his inclination is to deny and to smother
What they have to say that he did back when
The pendulum favored solely the men

I wonder how many me,s are out there
Who’ve been put through the wringer, and do we care?
About the sordid details that they finally share
Now that they’ve made us painfully aware
I wonder about this too instead
Is the issue isolated or is it widespread
Those are the things that have entered my head
Based on what I’ve heard that somebody said

I wonder how many me,s remain silent
Choosing to be your average shrinking violet
Whether their ****, was docile or was violent
They’re still gonna act as if they’re Inviolate
But all of those me,s out there, know the deal
It’s not speculation for them it’s for real
And they’ve chosen to let us kn ow how they feel
Which has been met with mass appeal

When we learned
James Baldwin was dead
From stomach cancer
His obituary read
We accepted the news reluctantly
And said a silent prayer
Then naturally wondered
Who’d be his heir

But alas Baldwin was
One of a kind
And like  a fine jewel
Hard to find
His perspective was
Clearly cutting edge
And sometimes he even
Went over the ledge

Baldwin warned us of
The Fire The Next Time
Borrowed from an
Apocalyptic paradigm
His words have proven to be
Quite prophetic
Yet the changes that occurred
Were only cosmetic

Baldwin pulled off
America’s scab
And revealed the raw under-flesh
That she’s always had
Lurking somewhere
Just beneath the surface
Ya see revelation
Was his sacred purpose

He saw thousands celebrating
In Jersey City
When the Twin Towers crumbled
What a pity
It’s just another dangerous part
Of his total litany
Of outright lies
And that’s what getting me

He can say anything
And largely go unchallenged
Never mind the fact
That he seems unbalanced
Despite First Amendment rights
He needs to be silenced
Before his misstatements
Leads to violence

You can find him re-tweeting
Outright lies
Using that as an excuse
And as you might surmise
The usual rules and standards
Never applies
To candidates like him
You start to realize

I feel the need to tell you
Though you haven’t asked it
I think we’re going to hell
In a hand basket
What’s to be said about
That errant rich *******
Other than the world will be better off
When he’s in his casket

You’re a Jesus freak
That’s just Jesus speak
But what do you do
For the poor or weak
Do you do unto them
As you’d want done
If you were in their place
Can you answer that huh?

You know the Bible
Front and back
But we’d never know it
By the way you act
You wanna take away
Everything in fact
You’re anti Latino
And you hate the blacks

You walk around
With your chest stuck out
Telling us you’re saved
Or just about
Your actions place all of that
In serious doubt
You’re not what you profess
Haven’t you figured that out

Your Christian credentials
Are supposed to be in order
But you wanna build a fence
All along the southern border
And throw eleven million people
Out of here on their ***
Whether or not they’re law-abiding
You don’t even ask

Stop your proselytizing
That’s just gibberish
You’re determined not to grant
Their ardent wish
Give ‘em something to eat
Or teach ‘em how to fish
You won’t get their vote
Or have you thought of this

Jesus help me please

By a dreaded disease
Help me to recover
Help the doctors to discover
A miracle or cure
Cos I can’t take much more
And I need your help for sure

Jesus help me please
Bring me comfort and some ease
And grant me a reprise
From a mind going insane
And a body racked with pain
Help me to find internal peace
You can tame this savage beast
Raveging the north west south and east

Jesus help me please
It even hurts me when I sneeze
Try to breathe and I just wheeze
I remain your faithful debtor
Praying in time that ’ll get much better
But you’re the one who holds the keys
So  won’t you help me Jesus please
You have the expertise’’

Jesus help me please
I’m not just shooting the breeze
I’m  in way over my skis

Only you can help me out
See despite modern science
On you I place my reliance
And this isn’t in defiance

There’s no reason to morn
If Jihadi Hadi John
Is finally finally gone
He clealy was a thorn
Or a giant blemish on
The nose of ISIS face
An inhuman disgrace

May he dwell in hell
The place he must have fell
With no more videos to sell
Now that he’s met his death knell
Unlike the Farmer in the dell
It’s so plain that you can tell
He’s underneath the devil’s spell
So let him scream and yell

You’ve got to figure this
He will not even be missed
Cuz with his knife firmly in fist
He used to violently insist
Cutting heads for him was bliss
And I could go down the list
So as not to be remiss
But I think you get my gist

And just so they will know
We were glad to see him go
See we got him with one blow
Which only goes to show
How our drones kept him in tow
Too late he said, “Oh no!”
He should havce know he had to go
Too bad it wasn’t painful and slow

Listen to this
Ain’t no way in hell
You beat Jadakiss
Either with your mouth
Or with your fist
When it comes to style
You ain’t got his gift

Jim Jones
Let's be for real
In your heart of hearts
You know the deal
Ya don’t have that kind
Of mass *** appeal
So dog it’s time for you
To sit down and heel

Jim Jones
For heaven’s sake
You never had
What it would take
To be an up
And coming Jake
So it’s high time
You step on your brake

Jim Jones
Was that a gaff
Or were you just trying to
Make us laugh
You versus Jadakiss?
Go to mass
To ger your Last Rite
He’ll lay out your ***!
