I'll Never Stop Loving You
I'll Never Stop Loving You

I feel this hurt thats deep inside
That I hide so others wont see
I say words pretending that I dont care
When I know you're the world to me

I listen to others as they call you names
And I try to see their point of view
Still somehow I know deep in my heart
I'll never stop loving you

It was a promise to God to forever be
But now I walk this path alone
I fill the void and loneliness
With others who come and go

Time will heal is what they say
And I must find that someone new
I can heal my heart and let go of the pain
But I'll never stop loving you

Happy New Year

(Happy New Year)

Excited for this year to come
For it gives me something new
A chance to now move forward
To make my dreams come true

As the year it now starts over
I can look back on the past
Remember all the days gone by
With memories that will last

I will let excitement fill the air
Not knowing whats in store
Planning for the year ahead
New beginnings to explore

With this new year I promise
To make a fresh new start
Find true love and meaning
And give someone my heart

Excited for the year to come
For it gives me something new
A chance to now move forward
To make my dreams come true*

Things Within
Things Within
(A poem on Depression)

Things within are hard to see
But we feel them deep inside
When others ask how we are
We smile and tell them lies

Things within our inner thoughts
That seem to never go away
Emotions that cannot be stopped
We hear them each and every day

Things within that no one knows
And we hope they never do
Many different parts of life
We hide from daily view

Things within we must let go
Like the demons from our past
We try to push them far away
And hope they don't come back

Things within they can be changed
If we share them with a few
Know many others have things within
It is not just only you

We all have things within

Carl Joseph Roberts
This poem written in response to the Dread Poet Roberts who is having a poetry contest to bring awareness to the issue of depression. Although the Dread Poet Roberts has my last name, He/She is no relation to me at all. The poem is meant to bring light to depression and how some feel it deep inside every day and must attempt to hide it. The every day struggle to overcome.  No matter what, never think you are alone.

Make New Things Happen
Make New Things Happen

Make new things happen
Each and every day
Let them lead you in your life
And simply be amazed

Become a part of wonder
Stand back and watch it grow
Do great things for others
And never let them know

Make new things happen
And know you took your part
See the eyes of others
Help change their inner hearts

Don't think that it can't happen
It's all a point of view
Each day when new things happen
Make them because of you

A Friendship Lost Too Soon
A Friendship Lost Too Soon

I give loving comfort to my son
For he lost a friend too soon
Knowing that for this pain
There is nothing I can do

I see the tears that are in his eyes
And want to hold him in my arms
Take from him this hurt he feels
And help heal his broken heart

I tell him what he feels inside
Over time will slowly fade
That the sorrow thats within his heart
Will be less but still remain

I let him talk about the past
And of the memories that were shared
In a hope that it will ease the pain
For a friend that he held dear

I tell him to hold cherished
The special moments from the past
And to tell the story of his friend
To all others when they ask

Although they were not family
The bond they shared was true
And that hurt he feels inside his soul
Is for a friendship lost too soon

In support and
In Loving Memory
for
Jonathan Gardner
A freak accident took the life of a young man, Jonathan Gardner.  While walking to the sink, a bullet was shot through the neighbors wall who was cleaning his gun. The bullet struck this young man and took his life. A good friend to my son and a life taken too soon. Although as a parent I wish to ease the pain of my son, I know the pain felf by this young mans family is so much more. I asked that if you believe, you place his family in your prayers.  May he walk in peace with the prince of peace, Christ Jesus.

Always And Forever
Always And Forever

Each morning just as you wake up
It brightens up the day
The smile you have on her face
Makes the world a better place

There’s calming peace about you
A kindness in your soul
Your gentle spirt lifts others up
And helps each day unfold

You have this love within you
That you give away for free
Never worry for yourself
When you sees someone in need

You are my wife, the one I love
I have vowed my life to you
You owns my heart and all my soul
And to you I will be true

Always and Forever

Colors In Between
Colors In Between

To change the way a person thinks
We must show them something new
Let them see a different side
A different point of view

The feelings that they have inside
Become different over time
If we allow for new beginnings
And leave the past behind

One by one we can change a view
And help to change a life
Show the world is built on love
And not just black and white

We cannot judge a person
By the color of their skin
We must see the colors in between
And just help our fellow man

Spring Break
Would you mind if I took a break
From writing my short rhymes
Will you say you'll miss my words
That my poems touched your lives

Will I even be remembered
For one poem that was read
Have I touched someone deep inside
With something that was said

If I took a break for just awhile
And enjoyed a week or two
Would you say you understand
Go do what's best for you

A spring break could be just the thing
That I need to clear my mind
I must take a break and get away
To rejuvenate my life

Be back in a few weeks I promise,  just got a crap load of stuff to do.

Just a short break for work stuff. A full time job plus now I have 3 houses to rehab  and get ready.  I'm not sure exactly how long but I promise I will be back.  Hell maybe the pull to write will call me back sooner then I think.

I have to say goodbye today
I have to say Goodbye today.

I have to say goodbye today
For our love once strong has slipper away
The dreams of a future now in the past
For a love that I thought would forever last

I have to say goodbye today
To move forward, I must now turn away
No longer dream each night of you
I must heal my heart and find someone new

I have to say goodbye today
My heart's now healed and there is no more pain
My tears have dried as I start anew
Because today, today I say goodbye to you

Be The Shining Light
Be The Shining Light

You can sit and wonder where life has gone
And watch each year go past
Or have the life that others want
And take some time to laugh

Each morning as you start your day
You must open up your mind
See the world a different way
And leave the past behind

You can choose the side that others see
And help them follow you
Lead them to a better place
And show them something new

It matters not who you are
Or where you are in life
Guide the way for all to see
Be the shining light

Transparent
(How to be a Politician)

Transparent, they say they'll be
Then hide so much from you and me
Make a promise that can't be met
Blame someone else and hope you forget

Give and take as they see fit
No need to worry of elections yet
Take your money and tell a lie
Hope your memory fades with time

Judge someone else for what they do
Then go and do the same thing to
Knowing they would not find fault
If what they did got the same result

It's not about give and take
Will stand their ground for parties sake
Don't worry for what may be right
For the good of all they will not fight

Transparent,  they say they'll be
Then hide so much from you and me
Make a promise that can't be met
Blame someone else and hope you forget

Transparent

Don't Be Satisfied
Don't Be Satisfied

*Don't be only satisfied
With having just enough
Always strive for something more
And work for what you want

Give yourself a chance in life
To make your dreams come true
It's okay to help someone
But do what's best for you

Always have a goal in life
Then reach for even more
Past mistakes you must let go
To open those new doors

Never should you close your mind
To learning something new
Push yourself everyday
To make a better you

Don't be only satisfied
With having just enough
Always strive for something more
And work for what you want

Don't be satisfied *

Fathers
Fathers*

Fathers are a special thing
They give to you their time
They show you what you need in life
And give you peace of mind

Fathers do amazing things
Each and every day
Always there when you need
To say it is okay

Fathers teach you lessons
They guide you as you go
Allow mistakes to be made
So lessons learned you know

Fathers show compassion
They are there to lend a hand
Wrap their arms around you
And help you make a plan

A father's job is never done
No matter what your age
Each time your father sees you
For him it's Fathers day*

Take A Different Path
Take A Different Path

When you look upon the life you've lived
Will you wish you could go back
Do all the things that you missed
And take a different path

Will the memories that you hold inside
Become a calming peace within
Or will the actions of your past
Make you want to start again

With all the things that you have done
Was more good done then bad
Was the life you lived one of love
A life you're glad you had

Dont look upon the life you lived
And wish you could go back
Do all the things that you love
Take a different path

The Values Of This Land
The Values Of This Land

When did we no longer care
For the values of this land
What happened to the love we shared
For our fellow man

Do we still believe in right and wrong
Can we ever make a stand
When someone is about to fall
Do we lend a helping hand

Do our actions ever bother us
Does our word not mean a thing
Can we tell a lie without regret
Do we care if we are mean

Can we see the pain upon the face
Of our friend that is in need
Have we made the world a better place
With the life that we now lead

What happened to the love we shared
For our fellow man
And when did we no longer care
For the values of this land

What Matters
What Matters

It should not matter who they are
Or what it is they do
Treat each person just the same
As you want treated too

It matters not the car they drive
Or the color of their skin
Don't count how many things they have
Or wonder where they live

Never let worth alone
Decide the way they're viewed
Don't judge the cover of their book
Make a chapter just for you

Each new person that you meet
Has a story all their own
Give them just a chance to shine
And watch each person grow

It should not matter who they are
Or what it is they do
Treat each person just the same
As you want treated too

Whats Your Number
Whats Your Number

We all have a number
That we think that we must get
Where each poem that we write
Must get that many hits

We change our wording often
To try to get a perfect flow
In hope the readers understand
What we're needing them to know

Only when we meet our goal
Do we think our poem's right
For our readers have acknowledged
That our poem is now liked

So we check our numbers often
And we hope our poem trends
So that we can reach the goal we set
And a new poem can begin

We all have a number
That we think that we must get
If my poems touch only one
Then my number I have met

Whats your number

A Nations Loss
A Nations Loss

All they have now are the memories
Of their child lost in war
Knowing that a love once held
Will not be walking through the door

He had fought and died with honor
In a war so far away
Now on a bended knee a soldier
Presents them with a flag

The cracking echoes of the rifles
The bugles sounding that he served
A reminder that their child was brave
And this medal he deserved

Each day they read his letters
With new tears now in their eyes
Praying for just one more day
Knowing he did not survive

All they have now are the memories
Of their child lost in war
Knowing that a love once held
Will not be walking through the door

Carl Joseph Roberts
Although we honor our fallen as best we can it never can be enough. The echo of a 21 gun salute, the sound of the bugals, the presentation on bended knee of the flag and a letter from the president or commander will  never relieve the true loss felt in the hearts of parents and loved ones. I give so much thanks to those who fight and the families of those who have lost.

When The Heart Remembers
When your heart remembers

When the heart remembers
What you want to forget
The pain felt inside
Is not over yet

You push it down
And say it's not there
It grows in your heart
And you say you don't care

But the hurt is still real
Not just in your head
The sorrow is seen
In tears that are shed

When your heart remembers
What you want to forget
The pain felt inside
Is not over yet

Differnt Taste, Different View

Each person has a different taste
In each thing they see or do
A different taste in all of life
And different points of view

It amazes me they like one thing
That I thought just wasn't good
Or they hate the thing that touched me
The one I understood

There may be many different paths
That each of us will make
The experience of each life lived
Decides which path we'll take

So when that perfect thing is found
Know It could be just for you
For others may not have your taste
They have a different point of view

The Greatest Game Of All
(American Football)

It's gametime, both men and boys
Time to throw the ball
Score the winning touchdown
And be the kings of fall

Man on man all hitting hard
Till the final second ends
All to play just the game
And to celebrate with friends

We run the ball down the field
Until that final play
We throw the ball on fourth and goal
And wait for what we crave

We  listen to the fans all scream
And we get to spike the ball
Knowing that we just helped win
The greatest game of all

See The Future
See The Future

The past can call you back in time
Just when you least expect
It tries to tell you what to feel
And how you should react

Dont give the past the time of day
Or let it rule your life
Dont let the past consume you
Or prevent you from whats right

Each morning when you wake up
Know that its a brand new day
You must leave the past behind you
And start your own new way

It's hard to see the future
If you're living in the past
The past has memories that are gone
The future, ones that last

See the future

What You Get Instead
What You Get Instead

Sometimes what you ask for
Is not exactly what you get
And the thing that you need the most
Is what you get instead

You may think that you're not lucky
Nothing ever goes your way
But if you see a different side
Your life begins to change

When you see a different side
Have a different point of view
Thats when it seems to all work out
And life is good to you

There comes a time in your life
When you reach a certain  age
And all the things that you want
They all begin to change

Sometimes what you ask for
Is not exactly what you get
And the thing that you need the most
Is what you get instead

Fast Forward

Fast forward,...... because life moves on
I now turn the page as a new chapter is born
Its like the winds of change have finally come
Like a cleansing rain or the morning sun

Fast Forward, because life moves on
I will share my heart and love once more
Old memories will fade as new loves last
And I will look forward and never back

Fast forward, because life moves on
My heart is now healed my scars are now gone
The future in focus and I can see the light
Its a path now taken to a bright new life

Fast forward because life, well because life moves on

New Life Lessons
New Life Lessons

Never let them see you sweat
That's a phrase you'll sometimes hear
But it's only with hard work and sweat
That you can persevere

Don't look back is what they say
You must leave the past behind
But the lessons learned from the past
Are what guide you through your life

Take your time and don't go fast
They say to take things slow
But to get to all you want in life
You must choose the pace you go

Give and take is what they say
Your battles you must choose
But never should you just give in
You must do whats best for you

Remenber all lifes lessons
Then make new ones all your own
Don't be afraid to live your dreams
Let life lessons help you grow

The Story Of Shoestring Jeb
The Story Of Shoestring Jeb

This is the story of Shoestring Jeb
Everyone said he had a hard head
Jeb was a fighter, one of the best around
Till one day it was that Jeb hit the ground

Jeb had never lost a fight
He was known as being as fast as light
Jeb was a hero in my part of town
Known as the greatest fighter around

For sure now, it was surprise to see
Who Jeb lost to and buckeled his knees
No one would ever think it could be
That Jeb would fall to little Sally Marie

Sally Marie was a bitty little thing
But she used her size to bring down Shoestring
No flurry of punches to knock out his teeth
She blew him kisses and said he was sweet

Jeb was beaten by a punch never seen
No more fighting at the request of Sally Marie
Jeb lost that last fight but some say that he won
Sally Marie took him out with a punch of true love

Carl Joseph Roberts.

I see a sequel in the future. The continueing life of Shoestring Jeb...lol

They march for you and me
Allowing us to live our life
In this land that we call free

They wear the flag with honor
Protecting one and all
They choose the life of knowing
That not all will come back home

They fight when they are needed
Stand straight, tall and strong
Giving all they have by choice
They answer to the call

Some have died for freedom
In lands far away
We thank you for the service
And we honor you today

Greatest Cop In Town (LOL)
Greatest Cop In Town (LOL)

Well crap, he outran me
But, I wear thirty extra pounds
I  think I'll just say that
Because Im supposed to run him down

I yelled one time for him to stop
But, he ran like a gazelle
He jumped a fence with no hands
My gun belt slowed me down

I wear boots not made for running
He had Jordan sneakers on
He must not of heard my orders
I think my siren drowned the sound

He sized me up so quickly
I could see it in his eyes
I think he saw my anger
Or, the ******* at my side

I may have heard him laughing
But not once did he look back
He thought that he would get away
Because he ran so very fast

Now I know that I will find him
And he'll be easy to be found
I'll place his name on my business cards
And leave them all around

I'll write a dollar number very high
Note that he was a great help
His friends will be so happy
Or they will beat him straight to hell

He'll tell them that he did not talk
Say he ran like a gazelle
But no one will believe him
Because I'm the greatest cop in this town

Just Wait
Just Wait

Just wait and let life happen
And you'll see without a doubt
Time has a way of fixing things
It seems to just work out

Know that you have options
When you don't know what to do
Take some time and walk away
And do what's right for you

Don't rush and do the wrong thing
Step back and take it slow
Give yourself time to breath
And let the right plan grow

Don't make quick decisions
No need for judgement calls
Get all the facts that you need
And do what's best for all

Just wait and let life happen
And you'll see without a dought
Time has a way of fixing things
It seem to just work out

Best Friend
Best Friend

He has the basement all to himself
While I'm at work all day
Watches T.V. and lays around
Without a worry in his head

He eats and drinks when he wants
Takes naps in the afternoons
Jumps off the couch when I walk in
Because he knows I won't approve

He is so happy when I come home
And that's when he wants to play
Jumps for joy and kisses me
And won't let me walk away

He follows me like he's a child
Thinks I'm the best thing in the world
Will listen to every word I say
Then pretend it's never heard

This is my dog and he does not judge
And his love is not pretend
He is a true companion
And he's known as man's best friend

Don't Sweat The Little Stuff

Don't sweat the little stuff
When there is big stuff still to see
That little stuff gets in the way
Of the life you need to lead

There is they say a right way
Of getting something done
But sometimes it seems the wrong way
Is just a lot more fun

You cannot change the world
There are things you cant control
Although you want the good life
You should never sell your soul

There are many ways to live your life
Many different points of view
You must choose the path that fits you best
The one that's right for you

So don't sweat the little stuff
When there is big stuff still to see
That little stuff gets in the way
Of the life you need to lead

Don't sweat the little stuff

Thank You

Its been one year on Hello
With almost 80,000 views
So many other poets
Have liked a thing or two

From my feelings for my now lost love
To the love felt for my son
You have helped me in so many ways
The healing you have done

I have tried to keep it wholesome
So that all of you can view
At times I've ticked some readers off
And hit a nerve or two

Inspiring  words of wistom
I have tried to give to you
Hoping that the words I write
Will help if just a few

The beginning of new loves
The ending of the fear
Anticipation of a future
My life throughout this year

I thank each of you for reading
My poems made in rhymes
You gave me what I needed most
You became all friends of mine

THANK YOU

Going Home
Going Home

Going home can sometimes be
The best part of life
The comfort and the peace you feel
Somewhere deep inside

There's a calmness that comes over you
Knowing nothing ever changed
As old friends come to visit
Their faces stay the same

Going home can sometimes be
Just exactly what you need
It reminds you of just who you are
And who you need to be

It lets you take that one step back
See all the things you've done
Helps you better understand
Just how far that you have come

Going home can sometimes be
What helps you make it through
Shows you that the life you live
Is the one that's right for you

Going home to family
Can be what you need most
To help you find yourself again
When you are feeling lost

Go Home*

My One True Love
My One True Love

If I give to you my heart
And a trust from deep inside
Would you use it to help heal
And start a brand new life

If I give to you my soul
Would your spirit then fly free
Reaching for the highest stars
Knowing it was meant to be

If I give to you my courage
Would you stay strong and true
Show others that they can survive
That they can be like you

If I give to you my love
With no conditions that need met
Would you feel free to trust again
And be able to forget

If I give to you all the things
That I mentioned up above
Would you give to me just one thing
Would you be my one true love

I'm just a hopeless romantic so hopefully one day I will say this.

If you like, please share to a few collections.
Sometimes It Makes You Wonder

Sometimes it makes you wonder
Just what was on their minds
The day that they promoted them
Thinking they would do just fine

They say they have the answers
Think they understand
Know for sure it will work out
Because they have a plan

You watch them make mistakes
Try to help out where you can
Then get told just do your job
They don't need a helping hand

So now you sit back and just laugh
At decisions that are made
Because you know they've been tried
And failed along the way

You would think that they could see
Your experience could just help
Use the knowledge that you have
Before they get walked out

But they just keep on pretending
They hope that no one sees
That what they know is no where close
To where it needs to be

Sometimes it makes you wonder
What was on their minds
The day that they promoted them
Thinking they would do just fine.

Sometimes it makes you wonder

So there is nothing you can do but watch the destruction because if they won't listen or accept the help then they have to learn the hard way.  And Unfortunately this is a sad but true story...lol

My Love, Where Did You Go
My Love, Where Did You Go

My love, where did you go
Do you know how much I care
Can you reach down from up above
And wipe away my tears

My love, where did you go
I still feel that you are near
The love I've know within my heart
Will never disappear

My love, where did you go
Is your pain no longer there
Is there a smile upon your face
That one day we both will share

My love, where did you go
Can you take away my fear
Did you want me to begin again
And still hold your love so dear

My love, where did you go
Can you see me way down here
I don't know when my day will come
Please wait for me right there

My Love

They all have different stories
Yet there lives are all alike

They are here to see a Judge
Who may decide to give them time
Or allow them to feel mercy
And give them one more try

Some are here to sue a neighbor
With whom they were great friends
But now they feel an anger
And that friendship soon will end

Two lovers get a license
So that soon they may wed
Two others sign the papers
And say there love was just pretend

Two children are adopted
And now say mom and dad
Two others go to jail
For a crime that was so bad

This is your daily courthouse
Where people come and go
They all have different stories
That we all should want to know

Carl Joseph Roberts
Just random thoughts that go in and out of my mind as I watch people come and go at a large city courthouse.
Shoestring Jeb
(Continued Part 2)

Shoestrimg Jeb was a very calm man
Always willing to lend you a hand
Jeb would never try to offend
And if he did he would ask to forgive

Now Sally Marie was Jeb's true love
And he gave to her all he had
He promised her he would never fight
Kept his word till they took her life

Sally Marie was home one day
Three men broke in and had their way
Jeb came home and saw his wife
She was stabbed ten times, he watched her die

The bar was dark, Jeb saw three men
Drinking and laughing over what they did
They saw Jeb but they didnt run
A big mistake, Jeb had his guns

Jeb's guns were his arms, never lost a fight
He beat those men, one at a time
Tied a showstring around three mens necks
Pulled it tight till each one was dead

Jeb never felt bad, not for what he did
He used his shoestrings to **** three men
The law looked twice but wouldnt convict
But Jeb never wore shoestrings again

Now if you see a man with no shoestrings in
Remember this story of Shoestring Jeb
Sally Marie was the love of his life
Three men took her,........ Three men died

Know This. (A Cops Creed)
Know This
(A Cop's Creed)

I cannot shoot to only wound
For that requires you do not move
I shoot to stop you from a crime
So that I or others will not die

Once pulled my gun shoots to ****
Then what happens is God's will
Dont test the training that I have
For if you loose it will end up bad

If called to serve and protect a life
I will do my duty to do what's right
I do not wish to take a life
But I cannot chance that I will survive

No fear or flight will you ever see
I will stand my ground while others flee
So if ever I must pull my gun
Know this,........Your day is done

When you read this you have to use your Clint Eastwood voice. Its much better that way..lol

You Are Everything
You Are Everything*

You are everything I've wanted
Much more then I deserve
Inside I feel a calmness
Just knowing that I'm yours

You are everything I've asked for
Make all my dreams come true
Give to me a peace inside
Whenever I'm with you

You are everything I hope to hold
Are always on my mind
Each night just when I fall asleep
I want you by my side

You are everything that I need
To make my life complete
My one true love forever more
You are everything to me

You Are Everything*

Goodbye I Need To Say
Goodbye I Need To Say

My heart breaks a little more
As we slowly fade away
Knowing that with each new day
Goodbye I need to say

I need to find the courage
To look you in the eyes
Do the one thing I must do
And not live a life of lies

I need to reach deep inside
Say the words I know are true
That I no longer feel the love
That I once felt for you

I hope one day you'll understand
Learn to live and love again
For you deserve more in life
Then what I now can give

My heart breaks a little more
As we slowly fade away
Knowing that with each new day
Goodbye I need to say

Filled With Lessons Learned
Filled With Lessons Learned

You are born with the life God gives you
Will die with the life you've earned
So take the time that's in between
And fill it with lessons learned

Give yourself to others
Work harder then the rest
Live your life and do what's right
Just trying to do your best

Show the world something new
Give more then you take
Understand different points of view
And love more than you hate

Place a smile on a child's face
Make someone's dreams come true
Open up your heart and soul
And say more I love you's'

You are born with the life God gives you
Will die with the life you've earned
So take the time that's in between
And fill it with lessons learned

The Second Time Around
The Second Time Around

Today I met an old friend
That I worked with long ago
She never really knew the me
That I wanted her to know

We had dinner and we talked
And we spoke about the past
I wondered if she knew back then
Of the feelings that I had

I always liked this lady
But back then I couldn't ask
We both had others we were with
So I let those feelings pass

This time there is a difference
For we're both single now
So I asked her on a second date
A night out on the town

Now I think I like this lady
And I'm glad I asked her out
Who knows, maybe more then friends
The second time around

Self explanatory..lol

How To Write A Perfect Poem
How To Write A Perfect Poem*

So you want to write a poem
You hope all the world will want to view
One that brings up feelings
That can change a life or two

Should you try to make if funny
And make the reader laugh
Or maybe a love story
That can bring a feeling back

Should you try to bring them into it
And make them feel the pain
Show a different side of you
Or a new path they should take

Do you let them see the hurt inside
Or the joy of something new
Make them ask a question
Or answer one for you

Just know that many poets of the past
Have been read by very few
And each poem can be perfect
If it touches only you*

Test Of Time
Test Of Time

There is a feeling of excitement
As we start a brand new love
Not knowing what the other feels
And not wanting to mess up

So I try to show my best side
In a hope that they will see
The person that I really am
Not just the outer me

It takes some time to understand
What a person's really like
To see if what they are inside
Is more then meets the eye

That excitement of that someone new
Over time will fade away
It is only then that we will know
If the love was meant to stay

So I will not rush to fall in love
Or to call that person mine
For only then will true love grow
And stand the test of of time

Just One Would Be Enough...LoL

If someone tries to take from me
What they don't deserve
I slap the crap out of them
And call it lesson learned

When a person does a crazy thing
And I can't believe my eyes
I can run them over
Say they deserved to die

I see a group of strangers
All doing the same dumb thing
I get to shoot them with a gun
Say it was meant to be

Slow drivers in the fast lane
Who think they own the road
I wreck their car into a ditch
And have a clear path home

Teenagers who won't listen
Who think they know it all
They get strangled with my hand
With no regrets at all

Some days I wish that I could do
All the things above
But Knowing that I really can't
Just one would be enough...LOL

Chapter Two
Chapter Two

Well today, today I finally did it
I packed my bags and moved
Left the place where I grew up
And started chapter two

You see I never want to look back
On all that could have been
Or ever think to myself
I wish I did back then

Now I don't know what my future holds
But I guess, well I guess I'm gonna see
I must take this chance and live my life
And do this just for me

There are some things that I will miss
Like my times with each of you
For the friendships that I've made in life
Inside I hold them true

Still when I look back on my past
I want to say there's no regrets
That I took the chances that I had
And I  did my very best

So today, today I finally did it
I packed my bags and moved
Left the place where I grew up
And started chapter two

Today I finally did it
Chapter Two, Page One

Poem by : Carl Joseph Roberts
I have officially moved to Florida, bought a house and will probably take a month maybe two off before I decide what I want the next 20/25/30 years to be. I know, at the very least, I will flip houses down there as I have up here for these past 10 years. I still have a few properties to sell up here and I'm keeping the family home so I will have two houses, one in Ohio and one in Florida. Still im thinking the majority of the time I will be in Florida. As needed I will occasionally be back in Ohio to prepare and sell these properties and I hope a few of my friends will join me for lunch or dinner just to catch up when im here. To all my friends both long lifetime friends and newer good friends, thank you for always being there for me when needed. Some of you have been invited to stay with me if you ever make it down to Florida and as it was up in Ohio, my door is always open to you. Love you all... Joe

Was It Never Meant To Be
Was It Never Meant To Be

Was it something that I said or did
To make you feel this way
Did someone else convince you
That you should walk away

Is there anything that I can do
To make you change your mind
Was there something that you needed
That I did not provide

Should I let you just walk away
Or fight with all my might
Give you what you ask for
And hope you see the light

Will the love I have be strong enough
To bring you back to me
Or is the love we shared now gone
Was it never meant to be

Carl Joseph Roberts
No worries, this was a memory from the past, not today.

Today
Today

Today I do this just for me
I start to care for what I need
Listen to what I feel inside
And allow myself a better life

Today I decide to change my mind
Leave old habits far behind
Realize what was plain to see
That we were never meant to be

Today I let go the past
Find new love and make it last
Allow my soul to be renewed
And give my heart to someone new

Today move forward and never back
I embrace the future and leave the past
The memory of you I now let go
Today I wanted you to know
Today
