Waiting
Caleb Ng Dec 2016
I am sitting here,
But nothing is happening.
What do I do now?
Studying for exams is so difficult.

2am
Caleb Ng Jul 2016
2am
The clock strikes
two times;
people are still
awake:
standing in corridors
talking.
All these window
shutters.
Arranging all of them
nicely,
what am I even
doing?
Is this how I spend
my time?

Murdered
Caleb Ng Aug 2013
Time flies so quickly by,
Yet the hour crawls by slowly.
Fear in the air as the victim
Slowly waits his impending doom.
Death comes quickly after.

Nighttime.
Caleb Ng Aug 2013
Night crept slowly in,
Catching us all by surprise.
In the darkness, we could not see,
That someone else had died.

Colours
Caleb Ng Aug 2013
The sky is a deep purple, the moon a pale blue. A tinge of red in the far horizon, a deep crimson pooling on the sidewalk. A life is lost, death has struck once more.

Fall
Caleb Ng Jul 2013
Fall over,
                   and over
      and over
    and over
           and over
        and over

                    and over
      and over.
And then you stop.

Well, you see, not everyone has that as an option.
Not everyone can go as they please.
Some people have ties, obligations; they're unreleased.

I'd choose to write in prose,

Monologue

Life’s a monologue.

You’re never really talking

To anybody.
Maybe not, but I think it does apply for me.

Contraire.
Caleb Ng Jan 2013
Au contraire, your soul is ******
For a life of eternal bliss,
To wander the depths of this world,
Never finding peace.
Filled with wonder; always amazed,
Your eyes stare at me,
All that happens will always be strange,
O, but *what
is contrary?

Happy Birthday
Caleb Ng Dec 2012
Today, you were born.
And today, they died.
Today, this happened,
And today, they cried.

Today, they laughed,
And today, you fell.
Today, they climbed -
Triumphed o'er hell.

Spots, dots, thoughts.
Caleb Ng Nov 2012
Dark thoughts on spots, because of
Those dark spots on my thoughts.
Darkness within, it's poking out.
To the washer, to rinse them out!

Stormy sea.
Caleb Ng Nov 2012
Dashed against the rocky shores,
Never to sail again.
Flashes in the dark noon sky,
Foamy waves lick.

Lighthouse broken, incomplete;
Sailors drown at sea.
Giant waves, like giant trees
Drag them away from shore.

Walls.
Caleb Ng Sep 2012
Corners embrace,
Walls let others
slide, and the air
engulfs them whole.
I'm just trying to... well, show the "rigidity" or hardness of the wall. That's why all the lines have a fixed number of syllables.

The horrors of the night.
Caleb Ng Sep 2012
One night, I woke up and slowly crept
into the bedroom, of mom and dad.
And found people doing something bad -
they were having ***.
Not true. I did no such thing.

Broken
Caleb Ng Sep 2012
And you stood, and watched,
And watched as you were thrown.
To the ground you fell, and
Into a million pieces, broke.

Goodbye, memories, goodbye,
For tonight is brand new.
You were right all this time;
But now: a memory.

And you sat, broken, sobbing,
On the ground, a puddle forming round.
A pool of tears, but
Those were my tears, not yours.

Secrets
Caleb Ng Aug 2012
Our little secrets,
we hold them so dear,
so close,
never to lose them.
But then they grow,
and they grow,
and they consume us
whole.
We hold them dear,
because it's hard to share,
impossible, in fact,
without care.
Secrets,
ours, now theirs too,
so easily spread, like the flu,
cannot be retracted.
Removed.
But if you do trust,
and you must,
because without trust,
relationships are nothing,
then share,
and watch, and wait,
as you see your trust break.

Free and Lonely.
Caleb Ng Jul 2012
What is loneliness to me, that I should be
Plagued by it, and feel its drag.
Nay, I shall say, when it calls to me,
To join it in misery. I shall be free,
A wandering spirit.
Lost? Never. How can I be lost
When I'm not meant to be anywhere.

Flee.
Caleb Ng Jul 2012
Why stand I at your battlefield.
Why do I stand. Why.
Why should I, weep at your grave.
When you're nothing I know.
When you've caused me hurt.
When my friends fell for you.
Who stole them from me,
Who made me fear.
Who gave me up so long ago.
What do I gain from your loss.
What can I do, to recover them.
What must I do...
Where have they been buried.
Where, my memories...
Where!? Answer me!
How can I live in such misery.
How can I endure such pain.
How will you feel...

Watching me steal what you treasure,
Making your life a mess.
I should flee. Flee this battle,
For the battle... can carry on.
Without me.

Fear
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
For you, you, dear Fear,
I have given up so much,
Lost all of those things.

For you, Fear, my friend,
I have chosen to remain,
Silent, and be mum.

You Fear, have caused much.
So many happenings, so,
I have lost, my smile.

You turned my smile, mine.
You, Fear, turned it upside down,
And made me worry.

You made me woeful,
Sad, depressed, and blind. To what?
Blinded to the joys.

The joys of life I,
I would have had, those I might.
You turned me around.

You made me realise,
How cruel society,
Was in my own head.

Those lies you fed me,
Scars, now unremovable.
I hate you, really.

You crushed me, my dreams.
You made me stumble, fall down.
You placed those hurdles.

But I cannot hate,
Not you, at least, for it was,
It was me, myself.

I must be blamed. me.
It was I who created.
Created you, I.

I created something,
Something that dragged me down. Down.
That caused me much pain.

So I will, destroy,
That creature I created.
*To the void with you!

Float.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
It's going to be over soon.
Just stop resisting.
It'll be painless. Go.
Go with the flow.

Let the currents take you.
Don't swim back.
There's nothing left,
nothing behind you.

Lose your worries,
Drop those cares.
Float to the surface,
Somehow, it's safer up there.

Hear ye, hear ye.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
Hear ye,
Ye ******.
Cursed and broken,
Filthy and frail.
Hear ye,
Hear ye.
And yield.
Yield your,
Broken souls.
Yield them
Weak minds:
Your weak minds.
You shall,
Resist no more,
Resistance,
It is futile.
Succumb, now
To your fate,
A terrible one,
Filled with fear.
Burning, burn.
Burn forever,
In the depths,
Of hell.
Not meant to be offensive, so... sorry if I did offend anyone.

Alice.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
Through the looking glass I peered, hoping,
Hoping to see another world.
Alice, oh Alice, how envy I you,
Dreaming, still dreaming,
But your dreams come true.

No one moved, not a single spoke, silence,
All around the world grew, or shrink it did.
It was you, Alice, you,
You were the one who grew.
Eat of that mushroom you did.

The caterpillar, smoking its pipe, wheezes,
In the garden, the flowers did sing.
You fell down the rabbit’s hole,
Not too long ago,
A new world you discovered.

The Cat, what was it called? Cheshire.
It’s wide grin, plump body.
Here, there, nowhere, it vanishes and reappears,
A cat without a grin, you’ve seen,
Not a grin, without the cat.

The Mad Hatter, the March Hare, seated,
Dormouse still sleeping.
Table long, tea cups and pots,
All set and ready,
Truly a Mad Tea-Party.

The Queen, oh, Her Majesty, Red hearts,
Loyal subjects pay their respects.
Golf, was it? No – croquet, you played.
Flamingos and hedgehogs,
Certainly a difficult game.

Painting the roses red, they were,
Red, red roses. The gardener,
He grew them all wrong: White roses from the trees,
Card soldiers, hard work.

Roused, awakened, your sister came, running,
A dream you thought.
It must have been, maybe,
The mushroom in your pocket, the white rabbit’s glove,
You know where you’ve been.

Winter
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
White, cold, silent and still.
The birds, their songs, no more.
People hiding in their homes,
Nature is waging a war.

Snow falls. Heavy and thick.
The animals, all asleep.
Houses bending under the weight,
Earth pulling us nearer.

Songs of joy, sung no more,
Mourning cries, through the trees.
Humans weep, animals sleep,
Will summer come once more?

Creatures of the night.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
Each night, they lie, waiting,
Silently, still, they lie flat.
Paper thin, shadows looming,
That’s what they are. Shadows.

Patient, patient, ever so patient,
Always waiting, waiting.
An eternity passes, yet, they
Wait, waiting for that chance.

A loop, a hole, the golden ratio,
Movements swift, precise.
Beautifully, they lift you, lift
You up, off your bed,

Into the skies…

Tonight.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
Tonight, my Final Draft is due,
Tonight at eleven.
Eleven, fifty-nine, tonight,
I’m dead and in heaven.

My project, please read,
The previous post. That
and this finish,
Then you’ll know it’s bad.

My Final Draft is not,
Proper, well done, innovative,
Messed up with every edit,
I’m pretty sure I’ll fail.

The World.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
Has the world become silent,
Lightning, no thunder.
Boiling, yet no whistle.

Has it gone cold, unfeeling,
Tasteless and rude.

The world, has it become blind,
Not seeing the good,
Pointing out flaws,
Greed, while others are in poverty.

It must have become deaf,
No one to lend an ear.

Or is it broken,
Heart, soul, mind.
Crying in secret,
approaching insanity.

The world has lost God,
All seek to erase him.
Blaming him for all bad,
Taking credit for the good.

The world does not see,
even with the many eyes out there.

It does not hear, nor feel,
Does not taste the sweetness,
Speak for others.

The world, is no more,
No more that place.
Not anymore.
One poem I wrote, while exasperated by humanity. And myself.

heteronyms
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
The wind blows, while I wind my clock,
It blew the clothespins off, hurting me, leaving a wound, while I wound my clock.
Tears trickled down, falling onto the wound; tear the contract!
They left it behind, in the desert. Deserted.
They said the had agape love, and that left me with my mouth agape.
Aye! They said they had for aye.
Bless them, the blessed. Blessed they are.
The wind continued to blow, the sands to buffet me, I could only think back the the grand buffet.
What to do? Could I sing? From do?
I opened my mouth, then spotted a dove, a dove in the desert? Then it dove down into the sand.
Will it? Can it? Lead me out of this desert? But my feet were feeling as heavy as lead.
A market… Where to get some fresh produce… Who will produce them? In a desert.
And I presented myself with a map and compass, a present from me to me. Happy birthday, I wished myself.
In that minute, I had learned so much. I was a learned man, in a giant desert. I was minute.
Absurd poem, it is. Make use of heteronyms, it does.

Social Media
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
It pulls at me,
Clinging on so tightly.
Suffocating,
Tugging ever so slightly.

It pulls at me,
Each tug, a little harder.
Absorbing,
Diminishing my interest.

It pulls continually,
Each day, everywhere.
Calling,
Even at the brink of death.

It pulls strongly,
An electromagnet?
Attracting,
I could never be at rest.

It pulls painfully,
Away from the rest.
Hurting,
It’s just hard to… It’s a pest.

It pulls, then,
It lets go.
Falling,
And I’m all alone.

The Moon.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
The moon, dips itself in the sea,
Cooling off from the radiant heat.
The sun, like a flame on candle,
On the wax, remains.

The sun wanes, and is extinguished,
The wax, consumes its flame.
The moon climbs to the sky,
Gently lighting up the night.

Standing.
Caleb Ng Jun 2012
Stars fall from the sky,
Sly foxes ****** them.
Men make wishes,
Fishes in the sea swim past.
Must the tides drag them in,
Woe, pain and sorrow.
Old men sit, singing,
Bringing their tales of old.
Boat and rope pull at each other,
Farther they try to reach.
Beaches of sand, on which I stand,
Stand till I have to go.

— The End —
