So I go back to that day
With those weird conversations
With my Awesome friends
Having fun
Laughing too much
Choking on pop
Then we talk
And the rest of the world
Seems less important
No more worries
Just happiness
And fun
And it replays like that
Whenever we talk
Arizona sunrise a leaf below his feet,
February tug of war led the rope to feather.
Stuck between pyramids and a desert flat
above sewers of east Brooklyn,
bridges emptied dust to flame.
He covered rice paper with delicate yellow birds,
and tore his clothes to shreds.
Swapped sleep for a girl in faded overalls,
but no flowers from his garden
high amongst the clouds
could match her feathered beauty
so he bought a peppered owl.
The great salt lake shriveled her skin,
the birds heavy flesh hit the ground,
leaving a mark deeper
then the **** on her shoulder.
Still, she stuck to him like syrup
but sweet faded to sun.
Trapped inside a number maze
with dyslexia in reverse,
only shivers of winter to remind
he is as alive as the moons cheekbone
hanging
haunting the sky.
He cried twice that year.
Once when the bees carried feet from honey,
and again when he lost his eyes to the sea.
He wrote love letters to the albino fifth graders older sister
and never once
thought twice.
The sky, a compass
swinging
swaying,
a weeping willow in his veins sobbed until every ounce of blood was salt.
Sinking as fast as his heart
last February
to the crust of the sea.
Perfect shape took form,
he never wondered why.
Open eyes uncovered
folded faded overalls beside a door unopened.
Smile like silk
pulled him into her lips,
swallowed him whole.
Forever he will wade
and wait
in the beehive of her belly.

another sleepless night
4am comes strolling around
i toss in turn bundled in the sheets
how does one sleep with a mind that races like engine.
thoughts go dashing through without hesitance.
thoughts that break apart every aspect of me.
constantly i am reminded of what i am not,
what i could be, what i will never be, and all that is wrong with me.
i cannot stop the whirling inside my mind.
i sit up, i think positive
but the negativity falls down on me like a heaviest thunderstorm
my thoughts, my feelings break me down
my insides come tumbling day in day out.
i cannot put the sadness into words,
it takes a hold of me, pulls me under its vicious waves,
i come crashing down.
it drowns me until nothing is left,
it tortures me until i am rotten to my core.
the sadness never leaves for long, its with in my roots.
the sadness fills my mind
my head becomes a violent dust storm
gusts of thoughts whirring from every direction.
i am overwhelmed by my own feelings,
I am overthrown by the sadness in my soul.
I pull apart every little thing, letting the smallest things get to me.
insecurities get the best of me, sad thoughts consume me.
happiness abandons me, it never lasts.
i don't recall the last time i was genuinely happy.
sadness is all i know.
the sadness rips me apart and peels my every layer
until it makes its way into my walls
cemented inside of me forever
The forest remembers many things.
Like that night we sat under the moon.
The forest remembers how we laughed,
and how you made me swoon.
It remembers all the kisses,
and the tears I shed that night.
It remembers all the blood and sweat,
it remembers that big fight.
The forest never forgets,
our memories are forever there.
So if you ever get lonely, love,
you can find me in the forest care.

Two star-crossed lovers.
Which from the very beginning,
Were never right for each other.

He was a mysterious boy,
with eyes that could easily destroy.

                                        She was a confusing girl,
that can get stomachs in a whirl.

He was the bad-boy kind,
unacceptable to others' minds.

She was too good for him,
                                       too bubbly and outgoing.

He hid something,
he wasn't strong even from the beginning.

                                                She hid her part, too
she was happy outside but inside won't do.

He trusted no one,
all faith in him was long gone.

She was broken due to the past,
                              with memories that didn't last.

But he loved her,
loved her like no other.
No intentions of another.

                                            And she did the same,
                                         her love grew everyday.
With no telling him in any way.

He'd long to be with her,
though he knew she deserved better.

                                       But she needed him only,
to understand and protect her from many.

He spoke barely,
not letting traces of emotions flee.

                                               She liked the silence,
but not as much as she liked his presence.

But he had problems of his own,
unable to fix her sorrows.

                        She was delusional, self-conscious
thinking he'd never accept her issues.

He simply couldn't resist,
despite the never-ending risks.

                                            She was drawn to him,
                             like gravitational pull filling in.

Happy or sad,
he wanted her just as bad.

                                                             Bad or good,
she wanted to be with him for good.

                       They were two star-crossed lovers,
That were so wrong, yet so right
                                                To love one another.

According to Rule Archer, a beautiful character within one of Jay Crownover's novels - Rule: "Opposites don't just attract, they freaking catch fire and burn the entire city down." True enough they do, but fighting the repulsion might just create something grand.
My chest rises and
Falls in a matching rhythm,
Syncing along yours.
haiku
you fear the moon
and i fear the sun.
you fear the darkness,
and i fear everyone.
