The new couple keep their garden tidy.
The old guy in the house behind ours, cared well for his wife and neglected their garden. / Honeysuckle twisted in hedgerows. Sweet passion vine weighed down fence wire. / Leaves rotted. Roses clambered, rangy and wild, through tall blades and fingerprint flowers.

Ukraine's Geopolitical Verdict
Ukraine is no longer fighting for survival .... it is systematically degrading Russia’s ability to wage 21st‑century war. Europe has shifted from hesitant donor to structural guarantor, embedding long‑horizon financing, industrial integration, and security commitments that outlast electoral cycles. Trump’s rhetoric .... praising Moscow, blaming Kyiv, introduces volatility but not reversal; the European pillar now carries the strategic weight. / Russia’s battlefield gains have stalled into blood‑priced inches. Its oil infrastructure burns under Ukrainian long‑range strikes. Its air‑defence grid is being carved open by drone saturation. Its manpower deficit is irreversible. Ukraine’s innovation cycle .... drones, robotics, AI‑guided interceptors .... is outpacing Russia’s industrial and doctrinal capacity. / The nuclear question remains the final spectre. But tactical nuclear use would not solve Russia’s operational failures, would fracture its remaining partnerships, and would risk direct Western intervention. Desperation is rising, but the nuclear threshold remains strategically self‑defeating. The war is entering a phase where Russia bleeds faster than it advances, and Ukraine shapes the battlespace through speed, adaptation, and precision.
