These hands
hold up nothing
but scars Underneath

From swimming
these oceans
and learning
to Breathe

When we were younger
They told us
"Make a wish.
It will come true"
I have spent
many Hours
waiting
waiting
waiting
for these Wishes
To come true

But still
the Pain stays
and all my wasted Wishes
float Away

To be There

i wish
that i had
somebody to hold me

hold me as i
Cried and
Screamed
after being
Jolted awake
from the latest Terror
that my Mind
had dreamed up

We don't even need to Touch
you just need to be There
There, to keep the Scissors in the drawer
There, to keep the Pills in the cupboard

just There
to Listen

You
When the entire world seems to descend into darkness, it is your smile, your laugh, your rare joy that lights a candle before my eyes.

insanity.
a beautiful word for a mind yoU BET woUld FAIL
Insanity.
i’m clawing at a locked door. is it my mind that ails, or the wood beneath my nails?
InSanity
hot tears streak down my cheeks. are they glad, or are they sad?
InSanIty
harsh laughter crawls up my throat. am I amused, or confused?
InSanITy
my knees burn on the floor. have I knelt too long, or were these the strikes dealt?

IS IT.
insanity.

Crestfall
Here I find myself again,
Poring over the bits and pieces you've given me,
I've counted far over ten,
The light on my desk has been burning so long my landlord will raise my electricity fee.

I've been staring so long,
My eyes burn, lined with silver tears,
Every thought I have could be wrong,
Seconds of solitude seem like years.

I don't know what to think anymore,
The lines are so blurred between us,
I don't know what to feel anymore,
The beats of our hearts in our hands between us.

Too thin is space stretched,
The words on the page overlap each other where they are etched.

People power people, and pick their equals.
Ideas, decisions, and what becomes real.
Whether we stand in a line, elections.
Decide who continues on, selection.

The rich become rich only from people’s contributions.
Using their products, services, or through admiration.
Social media, likes, comments, a way to get attention.
Striving to break from conformity, this world’s automation.

Scream, shout, acting strange in public.
Shoot, attack, people turn on each other, frantic.
People become desperate, run out of options.
Detectives try to figure out motives, using caution.

Joker said it best, why so serious?
Wasting time on the small things, getting furious.
When you can turn it around, hear how they feel.
Truly care and help them heal.
Be a friendlier face, selfless.
To those hiding in their shells, helpless.

Maybe everything seems right for a while.
But this world is in chaos, and in need of smiles.

Why so serious?
