Sometimes can be distorted or upside down
Unscramble the picture as we do the words

Even if it’s all blurry and underexposed

The bridge between

Broken seashells along the beach
Find a beauty in between
Amongst the broken scattered shells
An untouched one
With a full story to tell

A beautiful butterfly appeared out of thin air
I have to admit, that it gave me quite a scare
Until I realized, to my surprise, it was my dad flying by saying hi
He fluttered around my head and down at my feet
Moving so fast making me dizzy
At which I thought he flew away
As I felt a sense a relief, saying everything’s ok
I peered over at my shoulder and he was sitting there
Only for a second and kept fluttering around
My dad came to calm me down
In that moment I knew everything was fine
When you least expect it, they will send you a sign
I needed it today, a little wink from you
As you fluttering around me and whispered “I love you”
Thank you dad for putting a smile on my face
I hope I make you proud each and every day

Never once was there a doubt when you asked me
To be your wife as you got down on one knee
You said our day wasn’t
“perfect”
Until you said
“Will You Marry Me”
As I sat there in shock and thought
“Is this really happening?”
From that day forward you have made me the person I am today
We’re always on the same page
Inside each other’s minds
As close to perfect
Since you still give me butterflies

As the holiday season comes to an end
The old year is gone but a new one begins

Perfect nightmare
Overwhelming disaster
Filling up the air

Blizzard like conditions
Rapidly cover the ground
Making the commute treacherous
For everyone all around
The snow continued to fall throughout the night
Slowing down as dawn breaks the light

Temperatures rising to warm up the day
Most of the snow will just melt away
Yesterday’s low was a mere 31
By Tuesday it will rise to 71

Freezing and snow one day
Then summer like conditions will break way
But winter is not over
This is no fun
I just want to be warm and have fun in the sun

A bag full of laughs

We collect throughout the years

To not acknowledging a critical tragedy in your life for over a year
Because you had “moved on” but you loved him so dear
You shoved it in a corner and forgot all about it
But now that “ it’s over” you uncover it and bring it back out
Now it’s all you talk about
He was your husband for 47 years
I get you moved on but why hide it for over a year
Now that its being shown to the world again
Should we all be happy to see the urn back in sight
It’s to little to late to try and be what we all thought you would be
Dad, I miss you and I’m sorry that you were hidden away

Wipe away others tears first before my eyes cry silent tears that I try to hide and disguise so everyone thinks I’m fine....

Rain doesn’t make everything soft
So why do my tears
turn my world
into a puddle

Being torn down

Like a piece of paper

Seeing your confidence being tossed away
Constantly being put down, shamed and causing blame
Who do you think you are, causing so much pain, what do you have to gain?
It only makes you look weak, picking on me
Maybe it’s you that you should speak too and take the shame
Look back at yourself and see what went wrong
I did nothing, I am just me, but here I am singing this song
A sad song, not just for me, but thousands of people who get put down, just like me

Never knew my innocence of writing as a child
Could grow into such an addiction but even more so
Therapy for myself and others around the world

Waves crash upon my feet as I dance upon the waves
Sand trapped between my toes as I dance around tippy toed
Sunrise lights the sky as I awake when the sun rises
I close my eyes and dream of my future as I fall quietly asleep dreaming away….
