Infinite islands of crystalline spheres
Each ray of light catches u here
Of edges not found nor defined
Not cut to hold modern day life
Gradual colors of complex design
Speak to me as to you

Sensory vibrations
Course through you
Like the patter of a ball
against the hot pavement
Downtown
High noon
Sweat stings your eyes
As the metal fence
gives way to the weight of a thousand bodies
Apricot Sky Apr 2020
A dark blue back drop
Dotted with star dancers
Choreographed chaos
Displayed for all in a box
Of static night
We watch in awe
As the universe is birthed
And the old gods die

And she smiles at me
Mater....Mother
Intertwined with life
Dripping with oceans not born
And rooted in deep soils not yet sowed
She breathed into me
And I arose

I climbed the ladder to the sun
And looked down upon the earth
Beyond that which is seen
Nor spoken
I gazed through time
To galaxies
Never ending

“This is what I give to you
Hold it
Cherish it
For what was, is no more
And what is, will be”

The cold smoke descends upon us from the ether
It surrounds us in the mist of understanding
Of ever flowing harmonies and infinite calamities
We are engulfed
We are devoured
The Then and Now one in the same
Forever floating and in flux

Shadows they dance,
they dance along the walls
Faces going nowhere
but seeing it all

Midnight trains making their rounds
As moonlight glistens and litters the ground
On the sidewalk you used to walk home to

Isabella my dear
Why must we pretend
that heartache and love,
doesn't go hand in hand?

This night reminds me of the girl you once were,
Before the world robbed you of your laughter,
and left behind but a murmur

We must not find company among ghosts they say
For fear of getting lost in the darkness
while we await the day

Dear Isabella, take my hand
Before the Earth swallow you up
like a rock among sand
Leaving  you alone in its wake

My horizon is your horizon
On paths that no longer cross,
I can feel you through the nothingness
We’re parallel, but lost

Entangled we once were
On these delicate lines
Together we once were
At some small point in time

Then the stars shown,
Placed deep into the sky
On endless waves of velvet blue
That overlooked both you and i

And it was in this lonesome place
That i felt your heart beat;
Amid boundless time and empty space
You and i were always destined to meet

And so the universe abided
And finally ended the night
Leaving our worlds collided
Bringing forth a new light

And then i saw you,
Standing where the stars used to be
Like a reflection in a mirror;
You….who was once a part of me

Forever always seemed so far away.
Now it’s at our doorstep,
begging to be let in.
I remember a time long ago
When you use to tell me stories.
A walk in the park would become our novel.

Lonely midnight streets,
An array of houses with lit windows,
And the constant sound of crickets:
These were the times I felt most alive,
Side by side,
With you.
