D Day

Amongst us walk the ghosts of our past
Silent screams that shout and hollow
"we died for you"

I look around and bow my head in shame
For I have let their giving be worthless
I have failed

They lost
So that we may have a future
A better place so that us siblings
Can live
Love
Grasp for life
Fade less hate

See the saying D Day is still used today
Yet how many think back to the lives lost
Our loss
Our granddad's
Our family
Their lives

My failure is mirrored in the failure of the world
Religion after religion
Gun against gun
Life fighting life

One day I hope words will be the healer
Language our fighters
And soldiers our builders

One day
Will
We
Have a better world

One day!!

uS
Out on the water stood the window
Our window
As we kissed we knew
Our future
Our togetherness

Hands held so tight
We looked
Our window
You smiled
Our future

The hours passed as minutes
A beautiful window
Our time so perfect
As we lost ourselves
We found us

We found love

Into the road of my dreams I must walk
A path so full of clutter
Cobwebs of anger
Fury
Mess
Steps made from the colours of life
My life
Yet blackened night takes its bow
Hides my smile
Reminds me of its power
The darkness hides that way
Left or right
An easy choice for regrets
I know my heart will glow
No matter what the rest
No matter what the hurt
Let the blackness commence
So I shall seek the light

Over the water I fly
So be it
Through these wings I see them
Boys to become men
Men to fall old
Eyes to close for a countries fight
Never to return
Lest we forget

Billowing stacks of fumes fill me
Thousands upon thousands of mini islands
Floating away from their mothers womb
Dunkirk's morning is ready
Sand from the beaches in a foreign
Glistening
Waiting
Offering a hope that there is a tomorrow
Lest we forget

In the after much blood has been spilt
To many decisions have faltered
Yet come my demise from the great war
My purpose came
I know what these wings hold
I know how they fly
I know how they care
For the next
Lest we forget

Now as age creeps upon me I look back
I see the failed, fighting staled to a shortened breath
Redden eyes become my flooded floor
A storm rages within me for the loss of our past
For the waste of lost future
For the pain that I've seen
For the wars that I've witnessed
For the love of pure greed

LEST WE FORGET

One hundred years ago
A war did do its deed
All failed by politicians
All failed by all their greed

The cost of all this war not peace
A families life and grief
To live together all as one
Be sacrifice to greed

Thirty seven million
Died in vain
For what we live today
More wars than ever see my eyes
More anger in each day

The field of poppies failed by us
Our shame in what we do
One day we'll wish a different way
I hope that wish
Comes true

A hundred million colours fell before my eyes
Yet all around felt empty
This look of feigned surprise
Inside I'd lost the feeling
A numbness in my head
No floating magic lantern
Just utter utter dread

My witness to such horrors
Had simplified my mood
I could have been that person
I could have been that doomed
Instead I hit the road ahead
Don't think of all the seen
Another day of rolling
I pick the colour green

A colour of the countryside
New things to see and do
The dawning of new life ahead
See shoots
I see them too

One hundred million colours
Yet the all I want
Is you
The colour of a rainbowed sky
Come look
At what you do
Come colour what I'd lost inside
Come take away my pain
Come wake me kisses ,
In my heart
I love the colour ..
You

Black has a taste
All bitter and foul
It burns through your heart
And feeds on your soul

Flavoured to take you
To strip out your whole
The colour of sadness
A beautiful cruel

Each day it will seek you
Come ready to feed
The darkest of nightmares
A taste of true greed
